Amazon Made History At The Golden Globes Sunday Night

It was a huge night for streaming sites at the Golden Globes.

Netflix took home a Globe for "House of Cards"; however, it was Amazon that stunned, winning two awards for its new series "Transparent."

The series about a father (Jeffrey Tambor) coming out to his family as transgender won awards for both best TV series (musical or comedy) and best actor. jeffrey tambor transparent

That's the first time a streaming site has won a Golden Globe for best TV series.

And it's not as if "Transparent" were in an easy category. The series beat out competition from Netflix's "Orange is the New Black," AMC's "Silicon Valley," HBO's "Girls," and the CW's "Jane the Virgin."

Even star Tambor knew Amazon's wins were a big deal when he accepted his award for the evening.

"This is big. This is much bigger than me," Tambor said before the 70-year-old actor referred to Amazon as "his new best friend."

"Transparent" was recently renewed for a second season.

'Taken 3' Has Huge Opening Weekend Despite Terrible Reviews

Sometimes bad reviews don't mean a thing for movies, which was certainly the case with "Taken 3" this weekend.

The third installment of the series starring Liam Neeson outperformed analyst estimates grossing $40.4 million opening weekend.

That number isn't higher than the $49 million opening weekend of 2012's "Taken 2," which shouldn't be a big surprise for anyone who's seen the film. "Taken 3" does not live up to its predecessors at all.

"Taken 3" had a lot of potential, but decided to ditch the main villains of the first two films (Albanian mobsters) for a random Russian mob instead.

While the plot of the film pales in comparison to the first two, it was far from the main problem with the sequel. The editing of several big action sequences is so awfully cut together that it causes confusion as to what you're actually watching on screen. The worst offender is a giant car crash scene on a highway.

The real test will be whether the film can hold over in its second weekend at theaters.

Here's how the two previous "Taken" films have performed in theaters for comparison:

MovieOpening WeekendWorldwide GrossEstimated Budget
"Taken" (2008)$24.7 million$226.8 million$25 million
"Taken 2" (2012)$49.5 million$376.1 million$45 million
"Taken 3" (2015)$40.4 million$49.9 million so far$48 million

Why Lori Greiner Calls This Husband-And-Wife Team Her Next Big 'Shark Tank' Success Story

As the "Queen of QVC" and someone with connections to some of America's biggest retailers, Lori Greiner has a knack for turning her "Shark Tank" investments into sensations.

Judging from the immediate reaction to the latest deal she made in season six, she's got another hit with stuffed, bite-sized bagel company Bantam Bagels.

Husband-and-wife team Nick and Elyse Oleksak come into the tank looking for a $275,000 investment for an 11% stake in their company, which they developed in 2012 and launched the next year.

Elyse quit a job at Morgan Stanley to dedicate herself full time to Bantam, and Nick says he plans on leaving his job as a credit broker at GFI Group when his baby is born. While their careers have allowed them to build up a comfortable level of savings, they've had enough of Wall Street and want to make a deal so that they can commercialize Bantam on a much larger scale and commit fully to it.

Since 2013, the couple says, the company has made $200,000 in sales from its Manhattan retail location and its appearances on QVC. The latter has been great for building their brand, but because they lack a commercial bakery, they have been unable to crank out enough to make the home shopping network a very profitable outlet.

Investors Mark Cuban and Robert Herjavec think the Oleksaks are sitting on a company with huge potential but one that requires too much effort. They don't make an offer.

lori greiner

Barbara Corcoran and Kevin O'Leary are both interested in helping steer the ship, at a high price — they'll give the Oleksaks the $275,000 they're looking for but for 51% and 50%, respectively. Either deal would be especially heavy blows to the couple, since they have already given 23% of Bantam equity to other investors.

Greiner jumps in and says she's a much better bet and only wants 30% in exchange for the same dollar amount.

The cofounders first tell Corcoran her deal is too big an ask and see if she'd be willing to go in for 25%; she says she'll settle for 30%. Greiner then says she'll go down to 25% but only if the Oleksaks immediately agree, no questions asked — which they happily do.

Following the Jan. 9 television premiere of the show, thousands of "Shark Tank" fans rushed to order the cream cheese-stuffed mini bagels from Bantam's website. Greiner took to Twitter to announce that even though the site's servers couldn't handle the rush of traffic, the Bantam team would be checking its email inbox to make sure everyone's orders went through. The next morning, she tweeted a photo of Bantam's retail location and how happy she was to see it so busy.

She left her followers with a note that suggests she made the right move by aggressively moving in on and closing the deal:

Newcastle Brown Ale Can't Afford A Super Bowl Ad So It Hired A 'Parks And Recreation' Star To Make An Appeal For Cash

newcastle aubrey plaza super bowl

Newcastle Brown Ale can’t afford the $4.5 million asking price to buy a TV ad spot during the Super Bowl.

That’s why it released a video on Monday featuring Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza calling for other brands to help chip in for Newcastle’s Super Bowl campaign this year, in her typical deadpan style. In exchange for cash, Newcastle will feature other brands’ logos in its forthcoming ad.

Newcastle won’t actually be advertising in one of the big money national spots, but instead the brand told the New York Times it plans to air in some (markedly cheaper) local television markets and online during the big game.

In typical Newcastle style, the call for contributions video pokes fun at another brand’s ad. This spot — featuring a cowboy and dog — bears an uncanny resemblance to Budweiser’s heartwarming 2014 “Puppy Love” Super Bowl commercial. Except, in this case, Plaza passionately makes out with the cowboy and dog at the end. Because why not.

Here's the latest Newcastle spot:

This video isn’t Newcastle’s first Super Bowl ambush marketing attempt this year.

Earlier this month the beer brand mocked Doritos’ annual “Crash the Super Bowl” campaign, in which it invites consumers to enter their own 30-second ads into a contest to win the chance to be one of its official Super Bowl spots. Newcastle created its own tongue-in-cheek entry in which it bleeped out any mention of Doritos and heavily promotes its own brand name through unsubtle product placement.

Here's Newcastle's“(Un)official Snack Chip Contest Submission" video:

Last year Newcastle also ambushed the excitement around the big game ads, creating a huge viral hit with its "Mega Huge Football Game Ad Newcastle Brown Ale Almost Made" online video.

Enjoy it again here:

Meet The CW Actress Who Upset Julia Louis-Dreyfus And Netflix At The Golden Globes

One of the biggest shocks of Sunday night's Golden Globes came when actress Gina Rodriguez beat out former Globes winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus and "Orange is the New Black" star Taylor Schilling to take home the award for Best Actress in a TV comedy.

The 30-year-old actress stars on The CW's new series "Jane the Virgin," about a young, religious woman who gets pregnant after a mix-up at the doctor where she's accidentally artificially inseminated.

As silly as the concept may sound, the series is based on a very successful Venezuelan telenova, "Juana la Virgen."

The show was received as one of the best fall premieres with several outlets calling it the best new show of the season.

TIME:

The accidental-pregnancy premise sounds absurd--and it is--but Jane's playful, good-hearted humor makes the unbelievable believable.

The Hollywood Reporter:

Viewers who want to watch the fall's best new broadcast drama will have to do something that, for many of them, will likely be unfamiliar. They will have to find the CW.

jane the virginBefore “Jane,” Rodriguez was known for her role on soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The youngest of three sisters, the Chicago native was inspired by her older sisters who are a banker and doctor.

"My sisters were making moves that were crazy to our community, to our family," Rodriguez told Complex in 2013. "They were getting the best education and they were shattering stereotypes. I had these women in front of me doing what they love to do and fighting for it, whether we had money to pay for college or not, and it inspired me to do something."

gina rodriguez golden globes After 10 years of salsa dancing, acting became her outlet.

The role which catapulted her into the limelight was 2012's musical film “Filly Brown” in which she played a young Latina rapper. She beat out both Eva Longoria and Eva Mendes for an Imagen Foundation Award for Best Actress for her role.

Rodriguez also turned down a role in Lifetime’s “Devious Maids,” telling Cosmopolitan, "I am not going to take a role because there's money. It might extend my checkbook but not my integrity."

While the actress already has a second season of "Jane the Virgin" ahead of her, Rodriguez is keeping busy, working on her own record album.

"I am talking to some major labels and some indie labels as well, because you definitely have more control of your sound that way," Rodriguez told Complex. "I'm going to go all in and give it the same kind of heart I gave to acting."

Here's The Showtime Series That Blindsided 'Game Of Thrones' And 'House of Cards' For Best TV Drama

"Game of Thrones" and "House of Cards" didn't take home the award for Best TV Drama Sunday night at the Golden Globes.

Instead, it was Showtime's juicy new series, "The Affair."

The show ended up being one of the big winners of the night, as lead actress Ruth Wilson beat out fellow network star Claire Danes ("Homeland"), Robin Wright ("House of Cards"), and Julianna Margulies ("The Good Wife") for Best Actress in a TV Drama.

The series, from Sarah Treem ("House of Cards" co-executive producer) and Hagai Levi ("In Treatment"), chronicles the emotional effects of an extramarital affair between waitress Alison (Wilson) and novelist and teacher Noah (Dominic West).

Alison’s marriage to her rancher husband Cole (Joshua Jackson) is emotionally and financially fraught. Noah has been married to his wife Hellen (Maura Tierney) for 17 years, and he is struggling to complete a new novel. Although he is happy in his marriage, he's frustrated because he's dependent on his in-laws' wealth.

When the couple and their four kids spend their summer at his in-laws’ estate, he meets Alison, and the two form an undeniable attraction for one another.

TheAffair_106_3821 ruth wilson.r

The show, which premiered in October, has received praise for its compelling story about a generally taboo subject — extramarital affairs — as well as for the excellent performances from its leading actors.

Compared to other Showtime series, "The Affair" posted lower Season 1 ratings than the network's previous hits, "Homeland" and "Masters of Sex."

With less conversation surrounding the series, it was a dark horse, unlike its category competitors "Game of Thrones" and "House of Cards."

However, two Golden Globes are likely to help the series garner more viewers in its second season, and potentially help raise its profile come Emmy season.

Here's The Brilliant Trick A Former 'Walking Dead' Showrunner Used For More Effective Meetings

$

glen mazzara

Since early 2013, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg has been advocating for women to take on greater leadership roles at work.

In a recent New York Times op-ed cowritten with Wharton School professor Adam Grant, Sandberg explains that women tend not to speak up in meetings as frequently as men, in part because they are routinely interrupted or ignored.

Sandberg and Grant say it's the responsibility of leaders to make sure everyone is heard, and they highlight a simple but interesting tactic that Glen Mazzara, a former showrunner on "The Walking Dead" and "The Shield," used to make sure everyone got a chance to speak up:

At "The Shield," Mr. Mazzara, the showrunner, found a clever way to change the dynamics that were holding ... two female employees back. He announced to the writers that he was instituting a no-interruption rule while anyone — male or female — was pitching. It worked, and he later observed that it made the entire team more effective.

Mazzara explains his No. 1 rule for meetings, which is gender-neutral, in a 2009 interview with the blog Hollywood Writers' Office:

Do not knock something off the table unless you are going to replace it. Do not just piss on someone's idea without offering one better. That's not fair. That's not kind. That's not respectful and that's not your job. Your job is to generate ideas.

For bosses looking to maximize the potential of their employees, the takeaway is this: Don't let your people be jerks in meetings by interrupting, ignoring, or shooting each other down, and make sure everyone has a chance to speak.

Marvel Just Released A New 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Trailer And It's Incredible

Marvel just released a new full-length trailer for "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" during Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship game on ESPN.

It looks amazing.

"The Avengers" sequel is in theaters May 1, 2015.

Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and the rest of the crew will assemble to fight off a villainous A.I. Ultron created at the hands of Tony Stark.

The second trailer has a bigger look at the villain played by James Spader along with our first good look at Andy Serkis's mysterious role.

NOW, Let's discuss the trailer: A breakdown of everything in the new "Avengers: Age of Ultron" trailer

An Explanation Of Everything In The New 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Trailer

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is one of the most-anticipated movies of the year.

Marvel just released a second full-length trailer for the film, and it's complete with more Ultron, voiced by James Spader, more Andy Serkis, more Hulkbuster, and more creepy slowed-down Disney music from "Pinocchio."

It looks incredible.

If you haven't checked it out yet, first, watch the trailer.

Good?

Great. Now, let's discuss the trailer in ridiculous detail because the May 1 release date is too far away and this movie's going to make an insane amount of money. (The first one made over $1.5 billion.)

We open with Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) leading a group of people to safety from a lot of devastation. hawkeye avengers age of ultron

Close up on Captain America's helmet. It's comforting and familiar. Something that makes us feel safe.captain america helmet avengers age of ultroncaptain america age of ultronThere's Hawkeye again. All the while, there's an even creepier, more slowed down version of "I've Got No Strings" from Disney's "Pinocchio" playing in the background. Chills.

Spader's Ultron voice: "Everyone creates the thing they dread."ultron bot avengers age of ultron
For those who haven't been following along, Ultron is part of a peacekeeping program Stark designs to replace Earth's mightiest heroes (The Avengers). All of those Iron Man-looking bots you see in the trailer like the one above are part of this program.

However, this plan goes incredibly awry when Ultron, a self-aware A.I., gets a mind of his own and decides to use the bots to create his own robot army to wipe out the Avengers and every human known to man. Hence, all of the destruction and people running in the trailer.ultron avengers age of ultron

Ultron isn't the only threat to the Avengers in the sequel.

We'll meet the Maximoff twins known better as Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). We're not really sure who's team they're playing on, but we bet they start out pit against the Avengers before potentially taking their side to take down Ultron.age of ultron scarlet witch quicksilver

Here's a better shot of Scarlet Witch from later in the trailer. Remember those red eyes. Those are important.scarlet witch red eyes avengers-age-of-ultron

It's best to not make Mark Ruffalo's The Hulk angry either.hulk eyes age of ultron

And who's this mystery woman? Marvel loves throwing these at us.

Most people online believe the character is a Wakandan woman, related to Marvel's upcoming Black Panther character or that it's a lead up, teasing Marvel's next big villain Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Oh look, it's Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), in and/or out of hiding after the destruction of Marvel's secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base and team. He was "killed" in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."nick fury avengers age of ultron

The trailer is edited to make it look like Scarlet Witch attacks Tony Stark as Iron Man; however, fans should know better to think that it's most likely Ultron he's taking on.

The trailer ends with a huge tease for the fight that every Marvel fan can't wait to see on screen: The Hulk vs. Iron Man. hulk vs iron man

Stark's wearing the Hulkbuster suit which gives him a chance at going up against the Hulk (aka Bruce Banner). hulkbuster avengers

Simple. Look at the eyes.hulk avengers age of ultron

Where did we see red eyes before? The Scarlet Witch.scarlet witch red eyes avengers-age-of-ultron

It's most logical that the Hulk at some point in the film will be under some sort of hex/mind control power of the film's new character.

And, the trailer's over with one last glimpse of Ultron.avengers age of ultron robot

What didn’t we see?

We’ve now watched two full-length “Avengers: Age of Ultron” trailers, but there’s still one big thing missing. We haven’t seen Paul Bettany’s character that he’ll be playing in the film. I won’t say anything more here for those who aren’t familiar with his role. At this rate, Disney and Marvel may be planning to keep his appearance a secret, though it has been leaking in promotional images online.

We’re fine with that. Too many movies ruin the entire film in the trailer.

While this trailer was really good, we're still fans of the original. Regardless, this is one film we're especially eager to check out when it's in theaters May 1.

Check out the full trailer again.

It Took 5 Minutes For Amy Poehler To Fall In Love With Her 'Parks And Rec' Character

Tuesday, January 13 marks the premiere of the seventh and final season of "Parks and Recreation."

In leading lady Amy Poehler's recently published memoir, "Yes Please," she describes the moment she fell in love with her character Leslie Knope.

Prepare to have your heart melted.

In early 2008, Poehler was readying to leave "Saturday Night Live."

Michael Schur, who cut his teeth in the writing room of 30 Rockefeller Center and went on to write and produce the American reboot of "The Office," called to ask if she was interested in working on a show that he and producer Greg Daniels were creating.

At the time, the series — still a nebulous idea — was rumored to be an "Office" spinoff. They talked vaguely of concepts, and agreed that it would be fun to work together.

By the time the series' premise came together, Poehler was pregnant. Schur decided to pitch her anyway. "Greg's and my general feeling was: Poehler or bust, pregnancy be damned," he writes in the footnotes of Poehler's book.

Schur called again, this time from the balcony of his house while chain-smoking. Poehler writes:

"He told me about a character he and Greg created called Leslie Knope. She was an extremely low-level Parks and Recreation Department employee who had big dreams. She was inspired by the 'Yes We Can' spirit of Obama's recent election. She believed that it only took one person to make a difference. She wanted to effect change, she wanted to someday be president, but most importantly, she wanted to turn an empty parking lot in her town into a park."

amy poehler, leslie knope, parks and recreation

Soon after Poehler received the script, she said "it took five minutes to realize Leslie Knope was the best character ever written for me."

After a long discussion with then-husband Will Arnett, she moved her family out to Los Angeles and shot six episodes in a row. "Parks and Recreation" went on to become one of the most beloved female-lead comedies of the last decade, earning five Emmy nominations.

Looking back at Leslie's journey, Schur reflects, "It's so interesting to think about it this way, now, as we near the end — it was, at the beginning, really that simple: a woman who wanted to make something out of nothing."

The final season of "Parks and Recreation" premieres Tuesday, January 13 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

INFOGRAPHIC: The Evolution Of The Hollywood Acceptance Speech

HSBC infographic Awards_Evolution_v5This post is sponsored by HSBC Bank USA, N.A.

The Hollywood awards season has officially begun — and with it, the often entertaining acceptance speeches. But even when winners go up to the podium alone, their speeches reflect that they didn't win that award by themselves.

As it turns out, the people whom Best Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Actor/Actress winners thank in acceptance speeches has evolved drastically over the years. A decade ago, winners thanked an average of 11 people in their speeches. Today, that average has risen to 15. Fellow nominees are thanked twice as often now as they were 10 years ago — in fact, a surprising 99% of 2014 awards winners began their speeches by crediting their fellow nominees — while parents were less likely to have a starring role.

HSBC Bank USA, N.A., reviewed 20 years of acceptance speeches from Best Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Actor/Actress television and motion picture winners as part of its #TogetherWeAdvance campaign, highlighting the importance of support networks to personal success.

The research showed that successful actors' personal and professional networks are larger and more diverse than ever before. Friends play a more prominent role in actors' lives these days: One in four winners thanks his or her friends, and 54% of winners thank their significant others. The practice of thanking cast and crew rose 21% over the past decade.

Personal ambitions are rarely achieved alone, and celebrities are no different than the rest of us. Like us, they increasingly rely on a cast of friends, family, coaches, and colleagues to inspire them to aim higher.

Check out more surprising facts on the evolution of actors' awards show acceptance speeches in the infographic below. And let HSBC help you thank your own supporting cast by creating a personal video to share at www.hsbcadvance.com/together.

Why This Trendy Snack Company Is Barbara Corcoran's Favorite 'Shark Tank' Investment

pipsnacks

Barbara Corcoran recently told Business Insider that her favorite "Shark Tank" investment from the past six seasons of the hit show is "definitely" Pipsnacks, makers of gourmet popcorn.

She said the best thing about the deal is that she got two "phenomenal" entrepreneurs, siblings Jeff and Jen Martin.

"Do you know how exciting it is to get two for the price of one?" Corcoran asked. "Usually you have a winning entrepreneur and a sidekick who's a quanter [numbers person]. Or you get the quanter running the show and the sidekick has to be pushed up above them, and that's tricky business. I've had to do that."

Not only has she not had to manipulate the siblings' dynamic, but the company expects to grow its 2014 revenue of about $800,000 by 800% to 900% in 2015, with an additional 30 to 40 employees recruited, according to Jeff.

The Martins founded Pipsnacks in 2012 after they got the idea for mass-producing an unusual kind of popcorn that Jen had come across in her job at a Chicago health-food store. The company's premiere product is Pipcorn, a type of popcorn with a small kernel that doesn't get stuck in your teeth, which comes in a variety of all-natural flavors.

They made a deal with Corcoran that was finalized this past November for a $200,000 investment in exchange for a 10% stake of the company and a 10% draw from the Martins' salaries — they're currently not taking traditional salaries, so the latter part of the deal is still small.

At the end of 2013, Pipsnacks had three employees and about $200,000 in sales. After its appearance on "Shark Tank," business exploded.

Jeff said he was happy to hear that Corcoran recognized how he and his sister have complementary skill sets. They share a drive and vision, he said, but he is more detail-oriented and she is task-oriented. "Without her, I tell people, I would still be trying to perfect the logo or the packaging. With her, everything gets done in the right amount of time, and it gets done properly."

He also said that it's been incredibly important to both of them that they get along well, especially when things get tough. Sometimes "I'll lose my mind laughing" with her, he said. "That makes all the difference in terms of stress over all the work that needs to be done."

This year, the Martins will work with Corcoran — whose offices are a five-minute cab ride downtown from them in Manhattan — to expand to many more stores around the US. Pipcorn is now available in 75 stores.

Corcoran's investment in the company is more like a mentorship and has already been paying off, Jeff said. Not only did she introduce the Martins to a connection who could hook them up with some big-box stores, but her influence has made them sharper businesspeople.

Jeff and Jen have paid close attention to the way Corcoran carries herself. When she enters a room to discuss a business deal, "you know that she can do it and has done it and will do it," he said, referring to a palpable and reassuring self-confidence in her abilities and company.

Before they developed a relationship with Corcoran, Jeff said they would have a hard time negotiating with influential distributors who work with major snack companies, in part because they were intimidated.

"After meeting Barbara, we go into these meetings and now we can negotiate with the best of 'em. We get what we want," he said.

When "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" hits theaters this December, it will be directed by J.J. Abrams; however, that almost wasn't the case.

While promoting his upcoming animated movie "Strange Magic," franchise creator George Lucas told USA Today he originally planned to direct and write the film.

The seventh installment would have kept "Star Wars" tradition with a May 2015 release. All previous films in the saga have also been released in May.

According to USA Today, Lucas's plan was to sell his company, Lucasfilm, after the release of the film.

Instead, in 2012 Lucas sold Lucasfilm, along with his script treatments for the next three "Star Wars" films, to Disney for $4 billion.disney star wars theme park

One reason Lucas decided against directing the film was that the next trilogy of "Star Wars" films would be "a 10-year commitment at least," and he wants to make sure he has time to spend with his 17-month-old daughter Everest.

Instead, Lucas is currently serving as creative consultant on the films.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be in theaters Dec. 18, 2015.

Marvel released a new trailer for “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” Monday evening, and, fans are obsessively re-watching the trailer to unearth any clues about the highly-anticipated sequel.

Fans went crazy trying to solve the identity of a mystery character after the first trailer dropped, so we weren't surprised to find even more mystery women in this new spot.

You've probably spotted the most obvious one at the 33 second mark, but there are a few others in blink-and-you'll miss it moments.

Mystery Woman #1

33 seconds into the trailer we see this woman, taking off a cloak in a dark, cavernous setting, before slightly turning her face ever so slightly.avengers ultron mystery womanultron mystery woman

Here's a zoomed in look at her face.mystery woman 1 avengers age ultron
Fans believe she's one of two characters who are related to Black Panther.

Marvel announced the character will be getting his own film in 2017 and will appear in next summer’s "Captain America: Civil War."

So who could the mystery woman be? Rumors have her pegged as Shuri, the sister of the Black Panther, or a warrior bodyguard to him. Comicbook.com has more on the characters.

Mystery Woman #2

The above woman appears at 51 seconds. This could easily be Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, she appears in a cut-scene right after this, but the guns and red bands on the outfit are making us think otherwise.

Mystery Woman #3

You may have missed this one, but a scantily-clad woman appears behind Thor at 1:03.thor mystery woman avengers age of ultron

At first, we thought she was an innocent D.I.D. — damsel in distress — but it looks like she may be the one harming Thor.

What is she doing with her hands here? Is she the one producing the electric shocks?thor mystery woman avengers We've slowed down the clip so you can see what we're talking about.

What's going on here? Who could she be?

Some believe this may be Thor seeing a vision of his future from the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), who's being introduced in this film. People think she’s a number of characters from Thor’s world ranging from telepath Moondragon to god Hela.

/Film has more on those characters.

This seems believable for a tie-in to the next “Thor” movie in theaters in 2017.

What do you think? Watch the trailer again and weigh in.

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is in theaters May 1, 2015.

Over two and a half years after being ousted from the "Today" show, Ann Curry is officially leaving NBC.

While Curry has not yet commented on reports, a senior NBC exec confirmed the departure to Deadline on Tuesday.

Deadline explains:

The former morning show co-host was very publicly pink slipped from Today on June 28, 2012 after just over a year on the sofa with Matt Lauer. With a hefty $12 million a year contract in hand, Curry then became the National and International Correspondent for NBC News afterwards as well as a rarely seen Anchor At Large for her former show. Despite the titles and occasional stints hosting Meet The Press and the NBC Nightly News, Curry was a relatively small presence on-air in the past two years.

One NBC insider elaborated to PageSix: "Ann has been unhappy for a long time because she’s basically doing nothing, while NBC is unhappy that she has been paid a lot of money to do nothing."

Curry is expected to make an official announcement later today that she is leaving the network to set up her own production company that will provide news reports and documentaries to numerous outlets, including NBC.
