Pat Patterson WWE

Wrestling legend Pat Patterson, 73, came out during an emotional scene on the finale of the reality show "Legends' House" after hiding his sexuality for over 50 years.

While seated at a table with fellow WWE stars "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, and Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, Patterson revealed:

"From where I come from, I had nothing, no family, no money, and I ended up [working] with Vince [McMahon] ... to me, that was the biggest achievement of my life. But there's more to that. Sitting here tonight, I'm going to say something I would never want to say. For once in my life I'm going to be me. I survived all this being gay."

An emotional Patterson then said he has had a secret partner for 40 years, who recently died after a heart attack.

"I survived the business. I did, I'm so proud of me. It's tough guys, it was tough," he said. "I gave my life to the business and I don't regret nothing. For the rest of my life I want to be happy."

Patterson was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 and was the first Intercontinental Champion, according to E! Online. He went on to help create the Royal Rumble event and currently serves as a WWE executive.

The '22 Jump Street' Directors Have Had A String Of Unexpected Box-Office Hits

phil lord chris miller lego movie

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are two of the most in-demand directors in Hollywood right now.

If you're not familiar with their names, then you and your kids are definitely familiar with the duo's movies: "The LEGO Movie," the "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" franchise (they wrote the story for the sequel), and both "21 Jump Street" and its sequel out this past weekend, "22 Jump Street."

"The LEGO Movie" was the unexpected break-out hit of February, and is now one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Lord and Miller are already working on a script for a sequel.

Lord, 37, and Miller, 38, met while attending Dartmouth College and began working together on animation.

The two have been able to make successful break-out movies on relatively modest budgets. ("The LEGO Movie" cost an estimated $60 million to make.)

One of the reasons behind Lord and Miller's success is that their films are incredibly self aware. An ongoing gag in "22 Jump Street" pokes fun at sequels. Early in the film, Deputy Chief Hardy (Nick Offerman) delivers a fantastic monologue on the subject to Hill and Tatum's characters.

Below are the box office numbers for Lord and Miller's previous films.

Harrison Ford Is Reportedly Out Of 'Star Wars: Episode VII' For Weeks Due To Broken Ankle

Harrison Ford was injured last week on set of "Star Wars: Episode VII," and it looks like he may be sidelined from filming for a while.

The Mirror reports the 71-year-old actor has sustained a broken ankle that could leave him off set for 6-8 weeks.

Last week, it was reported a hydraulic door — most likely belonging to the Millennium Falcon — fell on the Ford, who is reprising his role as Han Solo in the sequel.

Ford's absence on set is causing production to shift around what scenes are being filmed.

“The initial day or two after the accident it was hard to move things around but now we have had more time we can juggle things, bring some scenes forward and push others back," a source told The Mirror. "There are lots of other actors in the movie so it is not a disaster. We are still confident the film can stay on schedule."

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is set for a December 18, 2015 release.

We have reached out to Disney for comment.

The Interesting Reason Actress Keira Knightley Gives Herself A $50,000 Annual Allowance

Keira Knightley

Actress Keira Knightley is a regular on the big screen, appearing in everything from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise to the Oscar-nominated "Atonement," but that doesn't mean the 29-year-old is spending the big bucks.

After Glamour magazine asked Knightley about rumors that she allots herself $50,000 each year, the actress said in an interview: "Yes, it’s something around that. I mean, if I want or need something that goes over that, I get it, but, yes, around that."

While it may sound like a lot to some, Knightley's net worth is a reported $50 million, thanks to international hits like "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl," which earned over $654 million at the global box office.

In 2008, Forbes named Knightley the second-highest-paid actress in Hollywood, after she raked in $32 million that year for her roles in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," "Atonement," and advertisements for Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume.

So why does Knightley even bother giving herself a budget?

"I think living an expensive lifestyle means you can’t hang out with people who don’t live that lifestyle," she says. "It alienates you. Some of my best, most hilarious times have been in the least luxurious places."

Knightley, who married Klaxon keyboardist James Righton last May, makes an effort to separate her personal life from her high-profile day job.

"I deal with it by thinking that the person on the red carpet is entirely separate from the person I am in my day-to-day life, and from the person I am on the film set or when somebody recognizes me on the street," she explains to the mag. "It’s obviously not the healthiest way of doing it or the happiest way of doing it, because when all those worlds collide, it can all get a bit schizo, but it is the only way I think I can [live]."

Celebrity Photog Terry Richardson Responds To Allegations That He's A Predator: 'I'm Okay With Myself About Everything'

Terry Richardson

In a long profile in New York Magazine, fashion photographer Terry Richardson addressed accusations that have been leveled against him about some of his more controversial work.

Richardson has denied accusations of sexual harassment on his website and in an essay in The Huffington Post, and he provides some additional insight to New York Magazine on what he calls "internet gossip."

Models — some of whom were teenagers when Richardson shot them — have accused him of using his status and power to manipulate young women who want to impress the big-name photographer. Several models have described shoots in which Richardson pressured them into performing sexual acts, saying they didn't agree to or expect that before walking into the studio.

Richardson is known for his provocative and sexually explicit photographs, and he maintains that he doesn't ask models to do anything they feel uncomfortable with.

Richardson told New York Magazine:

"I don’t have any regrets about the work at all, but obviously I don’t ever want someone to feel like that. It was never my intention. But also, people do things, and then they have regrets, and that’s also nothing to do with me. Then don’t do pictures like that again … I’m okay with myself about everything, and that to me is the most important thing."

Others who work with Richardson suggested in the profile that the models might look back on the pictures with regret and then blame Richardson, insisting that he took advantage of them.

A photography agent made this counter-point to Richardson's denials, noting that celebrities like Kate Moss and Miley Cyrus aren't asked to do sexually explicit things on camera:

"These other girls, the 19-year-old girl from Whereverville, should be the one to say, ‘I don’t think this is a good idea’? These girls are told by agents how important he is, and then they show up and it’s a bait and switch. This guy and his friends are literally like, ‘Grab my boner.’ Is this girl going to say no? And go back to the village? That’s not a real choice. It’s a false choice."

Director Spike Jonze's Career Advice: 'Be Willing To Get Fired For A Good Idea'

Spike Jonze

Oscar-winning director Spike Jonze — the 44-year-old responsible for Hollywood hits such as "Her" and "Being John Malkovich"  had some bold advice for advertising executives while speaking on-stage at the Cannes Lions festival Monday, according to PageSix.

“Be willing to get fired for a good idea. It’s about finding people who are not scared.”

Jonze, who started out by directing Beastie Boys music videos, shared a major lesson he learned from the musical group.

“What I learned from the Beastie Boys was to be independent," said Jonze. "They set up their own world separate from the label. They built their own studio,” explaining that it gave them the ability to record for as long as they wanted to get their music just right.

The director carries this lesson with him today.

While shooting 2009's "Where the Wild Things Are," a reboot of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, Jonze had to go up against Warner Bros. to maintain his darker vision for the film.

"It wasn’t a traditional family film. They [the studio] wanted to put the kid on medication,” Jonze joked. The movie went on to earn $100 million worldwide.

The director also explained to his audience that while he’s respectful of studios and executives who finance his projects, sometimes he has to remove himself from their critiques in order to get the features made.

YouTube Says It Will Block Musicians Who Don't Sign Up For Its New Paid Service (GOOG)

147731490YouTube is getting ready to release its ad-free music streaming service, but a report from The Financial Times says the company will block videos from any independent artists who don’t sign up for the new paid service.

According to the report, YouTube will block those indie artists from using all of YouTube — including both the free and paid sections of it — “to ensure that all content on the platform is governed by its new contractual terms,” according to Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s head of content and business operations.

According to Kyncl, record labels representing 95% of the music industry have already signed up to YouTube's new terms, while the remaining 5% will be blocked from the platform. Those same artists are asking European regulators to intervene.

“While we wish that we had 100% success rate, we understand that is not likely an achievable goal and therefore it is our responsibility to our users and the industry to launch the enhanced music experience,” Kyncl told the Financial Times.

A source close to YouTube told Business Insider the deal will not affect regular users that post their own songs and videos on their own channels, but it will affect musicians signed to multiple record labels in multiple countries. Here's how it works:

If Artist X from the UK is signed to their friend's indie label in their home country, but also signed to a major record label in the U.S., I'll be able to watch the video in the U.S. but not the UK. It goes back to which label is bringing this content to YouTube, and from which country.

The source added "negotiations are still open" with the remaining 5% of labels that have yet to sign on.

"We want to get to 100% but we don't think it's fair to the other 95% of partners to hold back [launching the service]," the person said.

The Guardian says this move to block independent artists that don't agree to the terms of YouTube's paid service would also affect several big name music brands, including The Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and Adele. According to The Financial Times report, Kyncl said YouTube was offering all rights holders "a good deal," but would offer no further details about the contracts.

“We’re paying them fairly and consistently with the industry,” Kyncl said.

A YouTube spokesperson again confirmed the Financial Times report in a statement to Business Insider:

Our goal is to continue making YouTube an amazing music experience, both as a global platform for fans and artists to connect, and as a revenue source for the music industry.  We’re adding subscription-based features for music on YouTube with this in mind — to bring our music partners new revenue streams in addition to the hundreds of millions of dollars YouTube already generates for them each year. We are excited that hundreds of major and independent labels are already partnering with us.

Comedian Dave Chappelle is hitting the talk show circuit this week to promote his upcoming shows at Radio City Music Hall.

Chappelle's latest appearance had him "crashing" the "Today Show" Tuesday morning by standing outside holding a sign with his performance dates.

"That is one of the most grassroots advertising campaigns I have ever seen," Lauer joked when speaking later with the comedian.

But after an entire on-air interview in the "Today Show" courtyard, Chappelle still didn't realize the show was live.

"Are we on television right now?" Chappelle asked Lauer seriously. "This is hilarious, I had no idea this actually started, I thought this was a run through."

Kim Kardashian's Most Instagrammed Picture Ever Took 4 Days To Stage

Kim Kardashian Kanye West

After Kim Kardashian posted the above first image from her wedding to Kanye West, it quickly became the most-liked photo on the app ever.

The kiss pic currently has over 2.29 million likes and nearly 52,000 comments since it was posted three weeks ago.

But Kanye West is debunking any ideas that the now famous shot was taken spur of the moment.

Speaking at the Cannes Lions Festival Monday, PageSix reports that the rapper spent four days perfecting the picture before Kim posted it to the public.

West began his rant by going off on photographer Annie Leibovitz for dropping out as the couple's wedding photog just days before the extravagant ceremony:

“Let me tell you something about that kiss photo that my girl put up … this was pissing my girl off during the honeymoon, she was exhausted because we worked on the photo so much because Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding. I think that she [Leibovitz] was, like, scared of the idea of celebrity.

Because Annie pulled out, I was like, ‘Okay, I still want my wedding photos to look like Annie Leibovitz,’ and we sat there and worked on that photo for, like, four days because the flowers were off-color.

Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the No. 1 person on Instagram, ‘We need to work on the color of the flower wall,’ or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet.

And the fact the No. 1 most-liked photo [on Instagram] has a kind of aesthetic was a win for what the mission is, which is raising the palette."

When the conversation turned to celebrity and branding deals, West  who reportedly has beef with BFF Jay Z after he snubbed the wedding —said of Jay Z’s deal with Samsung: “I am not a fan of Samsung, by the way.”

He added, “The reason I said I didn’t like Samsung is because throughout my entire life … I have to work with the No. 1, I can’t work with anyone but Jay Z, I can’t be with any girl but Kim because that’s the girl that I look at her pictures the most and get turned on the most. I am not going to represent any company except Louis Vuitton because that’s the best.”

Here's Why 'Reading Rainbow' Was The Best Kids' TV Show Ever

levar burton reading rainbow

A few weeks ago, children of the '80s and '90s got a blast from the past when a campaign to resurrect "Reading Rainbow" launched on Kickstarter. The project aims to inspire a love for reading in children by bringing the old TV show into the modern age. A mobile app and desktop version are both in the works.

The Kickstarter project, led by former "Reading Rainbow" host LeVar Burton, absolutely exploded, reaching its goal of $1 million within just 11 hours of its launching. It has now raised more than $3.8 million from more than 81,000 backers, making it one of the most-funded Kickstarter projects of all time with 16 days left to go.

Burton has since adjusted the goal to $5 million, which he hopes will help even more kids access the new "Reading Rainbow" materials.

But what exactly is "Reading Rainbow," and why are people so excited that it's coming back? The show was the third-longest running children's show in PBS history, and it was filled with educational fun and adventure that kids across America enjoyed.

"Reading Rainbow" premiered on June 6, 1983. In the first episode, "Tight Times," host LeVar Burton shows a friend how a library is a great place to have fun on the cheap.

Burton hosted and produced the show until it went off the air in 2006. Burton had previously found fame in his role as Geordi La Forge in "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

He also starred as Kunta Kinte on the '70s TV series "Roots."

How O.J. Simpson's Car Chase Led To Record Sales At Domino's Pizza

More than 95 million viewers tuned in to watch O.J. Simpson evade police in a white Ford Bronco.

The famous incident, which happened 20 years ago today, was also the busiest day Domino's Pizza ever had, though the record has been eclipsed as the company has grown.

Thanks to captivated audiences' refusal to leave their televisions, Domino's would report record sales on June 17, 1994.

"We benefited from the fact that it was essentially 'dinner time' on the West Coast and late evening on the East Coast," Tim McIntyre, vice president of corporate communications for Domino's, told Business Insider.

"People were so enthralled by the bizarre nature of what was happening, they didn’t want to miss a moment, so instead of going out to dinner or making dinner, many people ordered pizza," he said.

McIntyre said the event was as big as a Super Bowl Sunday, although he declined to provide sales figures from the day.O.J. Simpson car chase

Domino's has doubled its retail locations since 1994, with more than 10,000 stores around the world.

But McIntyre said he does not attribute the success to any fame gained from the Simpson car chase.

"Other than our being mentioned in the media on every 10th anniversary of this odd event, it had no impact on our brand whatsoever," he said. "We’re certainly not going to give O.J. Simpson any credit for the success we enjoy in our global brand today. It was a bizarre blip, and nothing more."

"3 Men and a Baby— starring Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson — has raked in over $167 million since it came out in 1987.

Twenty-seven years after the film hit theaters, the identical twin actresses who took turns playing Baby Mary are all grown up. Three Men And A Baby

Lisa Blair and Michelle Blair Ontonovich, who were just 4-months-old when they took turns playing Mary Bennington in the movie, appeared on the "Today Show" this week to chat with co-host Savannah Guthrie about their experience.

"At first, when we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all," Michelle explained. "I think it was when we became teenagers, people started coming up to us a lot more."

Since their on-screen debut, the now 27-year-old Blair sisters have left Hollywood. Lisa works in customer service, while Michelle works in the insurance industry and is married with a 5-month-old son.

Years after the movie's release, the twins showed up to a book signing Diane Keaton was going in the Hamptons.

"We had a picture of us with her, and we put it down in front of her to sign it, and she goes, 'You know, it's funny, we were just thinking about these girls the other day,'" recalled Michelle. "So then she looks to sign it, and she looks at us and she looks at the picture and she was like, 'No!' And we were just smiling, and she kind of put it together. The Man Who Created The Video Game In The Movie 'Her' Is Making A Game In Real Life

$

0

In the film "Her," Joaquin Phoenix's character plays an augmented-reality space game, which was created by artist and filmmaker David O'Reilly.

At the Horizon Game Conference last week, O'Reilly announced that he's taking his game-making skills outside of the movie realm and making a real, playable game that will be released on June 21.

The game is called "Mountain." In it, you play as a mountain. It's a mountain simulator. Sound weird? Yes. But is it any weirder than a game that lets you play as a goat

"You play as a mountain, and you get to do all of the things that a mountain does," O'Reilly said when presenting the game. "Which I'm sure appeals to all of your darkest and most disgusting fantasies."

The game will start by asking you simple and open-ended questions, which you answer with drawings. And your answers lead to the creation of your mountain. The game processes the drawings and uses them to influence aspects of the mountain.

drawing_mountain

The drawings dictate the shape of the mountain, the type of vegetation that grows there, the amount of vegetation, the amount of snow you're going to get, and so on.

It's like an interactive screensaver. "It's designed to run kind of in the background, like it's part of your desktop," he said.

But O'Reilly promises around 50 hours of gameplay, as well as a definitive ending to the game.

Doesn't sound or really look as cool as the game in the movie "Her," but the two shouldn't be compared. This is a relaxing game; little NSFW aliens not included.

Mountain game

There are no controls, but it does auto save. Basically you just sit there and stare at your mountain.

There are some hidden features, however. You can move the camera around the mountain and zoom out all the way into space. You also have the ability to play music; the game detects when you're playing a song, and it allows you to accelerate time. Melodies even unlock different parts of the game.

There doesn't really seem to be a point, but that might be the point. It's kind of reminiscent of the "Grow" series, a Flash-based puzzle game that's just as simple and pointless, but still fun to look at. "Mountain" is gorgeous, though, so maybe O'Reilly will take the opportunity to make more games in the future.

The game will be available June 21 for Mac, PC, and iOS for around $1.

You can watch O'Reilly speak about the game in the video below (it starts at around the 51-minute mark):

Taylor Swift gets Instagram.

The pop idol has taken to the social network to leave inspiring and sometimes hilarious comments on her fans' photos, which she can see if the user has tagged Swift in their picture.

Perhaps this is the real case for using #hashtags.Taylor Swift Instagram

The Washington Post reports:

Sometimes her comments are brief; if someone tags her in a photo that explains their level of Swift devotion, she will reply to thank them:“Thank you so much for being at my show! I can’t believe you chose me over senior prom!” Or if the fan posts a photo from your concert:“Thanks for spending so much time making that poster!!! And it was so cool that you just called me your hero.”

She also leaves funny comments, like this one about her lettuce purchase:

This isn't a PR ploy; the comments seem genuine and not at all scripted. Swift has always been known for appreciating her (millions and millions of) fans. She's also been lightly mocked for being "surprised" when fans know the words to her songs or her concerts sell out in minutes.taylor swift billboard music awards

It's eye-rolling for the rest of us (why is she always pretending like she doesn't realize she's famous?) but you have to hand it to her. She's endearing. There's a reason people can't get enough of Swift — she's the best friend people wish they had.

Here's What 'Game Of Thrones' Season 4 Looked Like Before And After Visual Effects

Warning: Spoilers about "Game of Thrones" season 4 are ahead.

With its many battles, trials by combat, and all out wars, season four of HBO's "Game of Thrones" was one of the most visually spectacular shows on television this past season — all thanks to the series' amazing visual and special effects.

Some of these effects especially stand out, like those featured in the attack on The Wall in the ninth episode "The Watchers on the Wall." However, a season 4 VFX reel by one of the series' visual effects artist Calvin Romeynwhich has since been made private, shows that some of these effects were a bit harder to see.

For example, those flaming arrows shot back and forth between the Night's Watch and The Wildlings during the attack were digitally added.

Ygritte, arrows effect, Game of thronesAnother minor effect you may have not noticed was how the missing fingers of Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) weren't missing at all.

Using green covers on each finger and standing in front of a blue screen allowed Cunningham to be in the Iron Bank of Braavos with four less digits.

Effects helped render the dying, poisoned face of King Joffery in episode two, "The Lion and the Rose."

Finally, one of the most shocking moments from the season — when Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish pushes his new bride Lysa Arryn to her death in episode seven ("Mockingbird") —was done thanks in part to special effects and a green screen positioned within the set.

Martin gave his agent the first 200 pages of a novel titled "A Game Of Thrones," along with a plan for a trilogy called "A Song Of Ice And Fire." Nearly twenty years later, the series has sprawled to five long books, with two more planned, and — despite years of denials from Martin — now his editor has said that "maybe eight books" is a possibility.

Maybe eight books? After the runaway success of the series, selling more than 24 million books in the US alone and adapted to become the most successful HBO franchise ever, the author's history of undelivered deadline promises, and a slew of huge emerging plot lines in the most recent installment, an eighth book seems more and more likely.

While this may annoy some fans, many of us would be happy to read extra pages of the epic story.

The Trilogy Gets Longer

Shortly after submitting his outline for a trilogy, Martin realized he would need more space for the growing plot and added a fourth novel into the plan. By the time he completed "A Game of Thrones," released in 1996, the plan was for six books in two linked trilogies. "A Clash Of Kings" followed in 1998 and was the first of the series to appear on the New York Times Best Seller list. "A Storm Of Swords," published several months behind schedule in 2000, was even more popular. The first two books were long, averaging 1,100 pages, but the third was immense at 1,521 pages.

The second trilogy, supposed to take place five years after the first, was scheduled to launch in 2002, but Martin ran into unexpected troubles. He had expanded the story to focus on settings that were only mentioned in earlier books, and the page count, which publishers had asked him to keep under 1,200, was already longer than the previous book. He had also started rethinking the five-year jump, originally meant to give time for younger characters and young dragons to age, and ended up abandoning it. Martin took a friend's advice and divided the plot lines into two books, which took place at approximately the same time. Controversially, he saved the most popular characters for the fifth book.

The new target was for a seven-book series.

"A Feast For Crows" finally came out in 2005. Fans were already frustrated by the delay and complained even more when they saw Martin had left out so many key characters and plot lines. Although Martin promised to release the next book within a year, the author struggled with a series of plot complications nicknamed the Meereneese Knot. It would be an unthinkable five more years before "A Dance With Dragons" came out in 2011. The book was 1,600 pages, and Martin still could not fit a climactic battle sequence and left several major characters in cliffhangers.

Which brings us to "The Winds Of Winter" and a whole host of plot lines that Martin is trying to fit into just two more books. At this point, Martin’s commentary on the firmness of the seven book plan is this: “I’m as firm as I am,” Martin said, “until I decide not to be firm.”

If history doesn't convince you that eight books are likely, then an overview of the plot will.

Open Ended Plots After "A Dance with Dragons"

Warning: Here's where most spoilers will be found.

Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled descendant of a former king, still hasn't returned to Westoros with her army and dragons to reclaim her rightful throne in the epic war that will require, and first she has to finish fighting a massive battle for power in the lands across the Narrow Sea.

Tyrion Lannister, the crafty but often disrespected high-born "imp" who escaped Westeros after murdering his tyrannical father and traitorous ex-lover, is close to meeting Daenerys — who he may join for a return to Westeros for vengeance.

Jon Snow, the bastard son of a great family, was apparently stabbed to death the last time we saw him, and, while most believe he will escape death, he still has to face an invasion of inhuman ice warriors from beyond the Wall.

Most mysterious of all is the slow revelation of the crippled hero Bran Stark's immense powers as a "greenseer," with the ability to see into the past, present and future, which will surely play a critical role in defending mankind against invasion.

And there are dozens of other ongoing plots that are just getting wilder and wilder. In other words, the story is only getting bigger.

The A Song Of Ice And Fire subreddit has a vast list of incredible fan theories and literary analyses of characters and their narratives. Last year, Reddit user indianthane95 compiled a list of unresolved plot lines organized by geographical area, adapted here:

No End In Sight

If the history of the series has taught us anything, it’s that the plot lines are unpredictable, complicated, and have lots of potential for extending beyond their original goal. Though Martin knows where the main characters will end up, how they get there is a whole different story.

Readers seem divided in their opinion of the extension of the series into eight books. One school of thought argues that, in typical George R.R. Martin style, we’re about to witness a massacre of characters in the onslaught of winter. This would reduce the number of open-ended plot lines and make seven book more feasible, but it might not necessarily resolve them in a satisfying way. Which is why many fans believe that, in order for a well written conclusion, there will be an eighth epic novel.

Martin has repeatedly expressed commitment to providing a terrific ending for fans, as he knows what it’s like to experience disappointment at the hands of a series. Martin went on record as feeling “cheated” at the conclusion of "Lost," and considered it a huge letdown with multiple narratives left unsolved. If he intends to do the fantastically crafted story justice, he will need more pages.

Though readers morbidly joke that we hope 65-year-old Martin doesn't die before the books are finished, and extending the series into eight books would increase the risk of that actually happening, many would rather have a longer but well-written conclusion.

At the end of the day, Martin will continue to do what he's always done: write at his own creative pace, and at whatever length he believes is necessary for his story to be told.
