Former "Growing Pains" teen heartthrob Kirk Cameron had a lot to say about gay marriage on "Piers Morgan Tonight."
Friday night, the actor and evangelist sat down with Piers Morgan and talked about his views on homosexuality amidst talk of the upcoming election.
Cameron was very clear that he felt homosexuality was not only sinful but "unnatural" and "ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
But those types of comments don't go without backlash for long.
On Saturday, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (or GLAAD) issued a statement saying Cameron was "out of step" with the many Americans and that the actor sounded "even more dated than his 1980s TV character."
Celebrities and the Twitterverse also spoke out against the anti-gay remarks.
"Late Late Show" host Craig Ferguson said, "Rush makes me ashamed to be a middleaged white man and Kirk Cameron makes me ashamed to be a failed actor" and "Will and Grace" star Debra Messing tweeted about Piers Morgan "I want to thank Piers Morgan for his response to what he wud say to HIS child if (s)he came out: "Great, as long as you're happy."
After the interview, Morgan spoke with TMZ about the firestorm against the actor. The CNN host said he thought Cameron was "brave" for saying what he believed in- even though it seemed in the interview that Morgan didn't agree with the comments.
