'Star Wars' Actor Mark Hamill Freaked Out When He Heard About The New Trilogy – In August

Though most were surprised to hear about Lucasfilm's $4 billion sale to Disney, Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were not shocked to hear about the new films.  

According to Entertainment Weekly, George Lucas clued them in last year to the three sequels. 

Last August Lucas met up with Hamill and Fisher, who played Luke and Leia Skywalker in the original series, to tell them about his plans to expand the franchise, and Hamill was floored. 

"… When he said, “We decided we’re going to do Episodes VII, VIII, and IX,” I was just gobsmacked," said Hamill. “'What? Are you nuts?!'” 

However, Hamill since warmed to the idea more.  

"I can see both sides of it. Because in a way, there was a beginning, a middle, and an end and we all lived happily ever after and that’s the way it should be — and it’s great that people have fond memories, if they do have fond memories. But on the other hand, there’s this ravenous desire on the part of the true believers to have more and more and more material. It’s one of those things: people either just don’t care for it or are passionate about it."
