Earlier this week, a new cover for People Magazine's January 7th issue drove the internet crazy -- a photo of Taylor Lautner was accompanied by the headline, "Out and Proud: Tired of rumors, the Twilight star opened up about his decision to finally come out."
Except it was a fake.
A People spokeswoman confirmed the news to Reuters, reports CBS News. Lautner also took to Twitter to deny the headline:
@OfficialTL: So false!!! Don't believe everything. Rumours = Lies. RT @HOT957: Taylor Lautner Coming Out 'PEOPLE' issue, is FAKE!
So far, no one's come forth as the source of the hoax.
