Chicago's legendary Second City comedy troupe just unveiled a new theatre called UP -- and though many of its patrons will come for the laughs, they'll be sitting in the company of history. Expensive history.
At the center of the new club is Booth One, a legendary banquette from famed Chicago bar The Pump Room, a staple of the Ambassador East hotel.
Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart sat there during their wedding reception, and Frank Sinatra always asked for the table.
But the historic fixture was put up for sale during a remodeling of the bar -- and Second City's CEO, Andrew Alexander, swooped in and purchased it for $4800.
Here it is in its new home -- where, rather than hosting entertainment greats, it will seat people watching those who hope to become the next generation's.
