The stars of 'Bachelor' parody 'Unreal' disagree when it comes to finding love on TV

lifetime unreal constance zimmer shiri appleby

The stars of Lifetime's new scripted series "Unreal," which parodies reality-dating shows, have strong opinions about the unscripted genre.

Teaming "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and Bravo's "Girlfriends Guide to Divorce" executive producer Marti Noxon with former "Bachelor" producer and writer Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, "Unreal" portrays the over-the-top drama on-screen and off of a "Bachelor-like" show called "Everlasting."

"Sarah comes into this with big eyes and she’s a writer and she has all these aspirations, and then I think Marti brings the here’s what it really is, here’s the dark and we’re going to show you the dark and it does get very dark," actress Constance Zimmer, who plays "Everlasting's" executive producer, Quinn, told Business Insider.

How has making the show affected the way the stars look at reality TV?

BI spoke with Zimmer ("House of Cards," "The Newsroom"); Shiri Appleby ("Roswell," "Girls"), who plays ambitious young producer, Rachel, and Freddie Stroma ("Harry Potter" franchise), who plays the dating show’s handsome and intelligent bachelor, Adam, about their take on the unscripted TV genre.

lifetime unreal Freddie Stroma shiri applebyBI: Which reality TV shows do you watch?
Appleby: I am a "Project Runway" addict. It’s really super creative and there is like a task and at the end of the episode the dress comes out and you can judge it whereas like Top Chef, you can’t really like eat the food.

Zimmer: I will admit that if it is a reality show that I feel is accomplishing something in the end, I can watch it. I actually watched "Amazing Race" because I loved seeing all of the challenges and the different cultures and the countries. I felt like I was being educated.

Stroma: There’s only one. It’s usually you kind of admit it with shame and my secret shame was Big Brother in England. I watched probably about two or three seasons of that.

Zimmer: Some of the other reality shows where I feel like I’m just losing brain cells, I can’t afford to lose any more. I can't watch the Kardashians.

Appleby: I can.

BI: Is love really possible on reality dating shows?
Appleby: Love can happen anywhere. Listen, [dating shows are] definitely a challenging way. Its got its obstacles.

Stroma: Love can happen anywhere. I was always of the opinion that no those shows are jokes. I don’t know maybe it’s just luck and possibilities that every now and then that love can be found that way, but other times you think like well actually you’re meeting 20 to 30 people. For a lot of people, it’s kind of hard to meet that many people who are sort in the eligible range.

Zimmer: Well, I have a very strong opinion, which I know is shocking, but I think there’s a time and a place for everything but I don’t know if I believe that people are real when they are on television.

What was your biggest takeaway from the series about reality TV?

Stroma: I kind of feel of like it's about how much are you going to follow orders and do what your boss tells you to do the stuff and when are you going to start saying, "No, this is really wrong."

Appleby: Isn't that the question?

Zimmer: Yeah and it’s about the human condition; how far are you willing to go to get what you want and is it really what you want when you get it?  I mean we all struggle with that whether it’s reality TV stars or not.

Caitlyn Jenner breaks Barack Obama Twitter record for fastest to one million followers

Step aside Barack Obama, Caitlyn Jenner is the new Twitter ace.

In just about four hours, Jenner has amassed 1 million followers — one hour faster than President Obama's record in May when he established the @POTUS Twitter account.

Jenner said she was "humbled and honored" by the accomplishment.

Her first written tweet has been retweeted more than 180,000 times.

Stars including Ellen DeGeneres, Emma Roberts, Emmy Rossum, Sam Smith, and Grant Gustin tweeted their support to Jenner, possibly helping her to accumulate followers so quickly.

Obama has yet to deliver his concession tweet.

The creation of Jenner's Twitter account, @Caitlyn_Jenner, was just part of a huge day for the former Olympian and reality star named Bruce.

Vanity Fair led the way Monday morning when it unveiled the first photos of Jenner as a woman. Jenner is on the cover story of the magazine's July issue.

Later in the day, ESPN announced that it would honor Jenner with its Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at the ESPY Awards in July, which will broadcast live on ABC. The public appearance will be Jenner's first since completing her gender transition.

Jenner plans to share more of her life in a docuseries for the E! Entertainment network premiering July 26.

A wrestler accused the 'Arrow' actor of being a superhero in real life and now fans want to see them in the ring together

stardust arrow wweThere is nothing quite like professional wrestling on television. It is a strobe-lit, patent-leather wonderland where literally anything that can happen, will happen—and often does.

On last week's "Monday Night Raw," "Arrow" star and noted WWE fan Stephen Amell was spotted in a ringside seat and something bizarre happened.

Headliner Stardust totally freaked out, claiming to the crowd Amell really was his fictional CW character Green Arrow and that he was his nemesis.

For those unfamiliar, here's Stephen Amell on the series: CWN1577_Singles_ArrowSince then, Amell was being rumored to enter the ring and face off against Stardust in this year's huge SummerSlam event

Amell seemed really into the idea.

But he quickly squashed these rumors.

However, fans overwhelmingly want the showdown to happen.

While the gist of last week's events is pretty simple—Stardust got in Amell's face and seemed intent in starting a feud—the reason why it happened the way it did actually makes sense if you hear a bit more from someone who follows wrestling, like comic book critic Chris Sims over at Comics Alliance.

According to Sims, in the current WWE storyline Stardust used to perform under the name Cody Rhodes (his actual real name is Cody Runnels), and adopted the Stardust persona after a personal crisis caused him to doubt himself.

As Stardust, the wrestler formerly known as Rhodes has taken on a stage presence that's styled after comic book supervillains—only it's being suggested that Rhodes is losing himself to the Stardust persona and really believes he's a villain. It's pretty wild.

Since Stardust now seems to believe that he is really a comic book villain, it makes sense for him to assume that Stephen Amell really is a comic book superhero. And Amell is totally okay with that.

It might be time to get into wrestling, folks.

The incredible life of Caitlyn Jenner

Bruce Jenner Caitlyn Jenner

On June 1, 2015, Caitlyn Jenner revealed her new name — and her new look — to a captivated audience that had grown up knowing the name "Bruce Jenner." Bruce Jenner, Olympic gold medalist. Bruce Jenner, the dad on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

But as she announced during a two-hour interview with Diane Sawyer, that sit-down would be the last time she would go by Bruce.

Coming out as transgender on national television, Caitlyn Jenner announced to the world that "for all intents and purposes, I am a woman."

Caitlyn's new public life is just getting started, but her past — and the moment leading up to this historic magazine cover— is nothing short of incredible.

Caitlyn Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949 in Mount Kisco, New York, about an hour north of Manhattan.

Jenner attended Newtown High School in Connecticut for her junior and senior year, graduating in 1968. Former football coaches remember "#11" as a star athlete. The high school's stadium was named after Jenner until 2011.

Read more about "Bruce Jenner Stadium" here.

Jenner went on to study at Graceland College (now University), where she ditched football for running after a knee injury. It was a coach from Graceland that noticed Jenner's athletic prowess and potential.

Here's why Caitlyn Jenner was not paid for the Vanity Fair cover

Bruce Jenner Vanity Fair

Vanity Fair shocked the world Monday with its latest cover, in which Bruce Jenner emerged publicly as a woman with the headline "Call me Caitlyn."

While many magazines would have paid a pretty penny for the epic exclusive, a Vanity Fair representative told Mashable the magazine had been in discussion with Jenner since January and "did not give her any compensation for the exclusive."

"Vanity Fair does not pay for interviews," a rep for the magazine told Business Insider.

That Jenner wasn't paid for the cover is slightly surprising in a world in which celebrities shill their personal wedding, baby, or other photos in exchange for a payday.

While many pocket the funds, some use such opportunities to raise money for charity. In 2008, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reportedly received $15 million in exchange for photos of their biological twins to appear on the covers of People and Hello magazines. The couple reportedly donated the entire amount to charity.

Below is a list of the most expensive celebrity photos of all time (via Wikipedia):

celebrity photos

Judging by Monday's interest in Jenner — she already beat Obama's Twitter record to 1 million followers— the former Olympian could have fetched a high amount for a cover.

But by choosing Vanity Fair as the outlet, Jenner kept it classy and proved she's just as media savvy as her famous daughters. And people noticed:

"Vanity Fair's particular brand of celebrity-drive journalism has held up as other magazine have struggled to make the transition to the internet," Mashable said.

"The brand's combined print and digital audience has risen 17% in the first quarter of 2015 when compared to the same period a year ago and has more than double its mobile audience," according to the Association of Magazine Media's 360° report.

In its sprawling campus in Emeryville, California, Pixar makes magic happen. There, animators bring your favorite characters to life, host screenings, and sell super exclusive merchandise out of its Pixar Studio Store.

The store is somewhat of a holy grail for fangirls and boys. While you can buy Pixar-related goods from Disney's online store, the campus store can only be accessed by guests. There, the company sells books, T-shirts, plush toys, and collectibles only available on site.

During a recent trip to Pixar HQ for an early screening of its upcoming film "Inside Out," I got a rare look inside.

The Pixar Studio Store is located inside the Steve Jobs Building. The late visionary acquired Pixar from Lucasfilm Ltd. in 1986, and stayed on as CEO and majority shareholder until Disney bought the studio 20 years later.

Caitlyn Jenner

On Monday, Caitlyn Jenner became a viral sensation after debuting her new look on the cover of Vanity Fair.

But it's not easy to surprise the world with an image or a story these days, and the magazine went to great lengths to keep the cover from leaking ahead of Monday's big reveal.

A Vanity Fair representative revealed to Mashable the extreme measures that were taken during the Annie Leibovitz cover shoot and subsequent printing process:

The magazine was concerned about leaks and took security measures 'every step of the way,' including on the photo shoot, in the VF editorial office and at the printing plant for the upcoming issue. The story and pictures were done on a single computer that was never connected to the Internet, with the assets put on a thumb drive every night and then deleted from the computer. The story was even hand-delivered to the printer.

Additionally, Mashable reports, "The magazine hired security for the shoot and forced people to give up their cell phones to prevent anything from leaking."

Caitlyn JennerBut the extra precaution was worth it.

After Vanity Fair's "Call me Caitlyn" cover was released Monday, the image and story went completely viral. #CallMeCaitlyn became the top trending topic on Twitter.

After joining Twitter, @Caitlyn_Jennerbroke President Obama's record to 1 million followers, and her first tweet— the Vanity Fair cover — has been retweeted more than 229,000 times.

And Caitlyn wasn't even compensated for the cover.

Louis CK Jerry Seinfeld comedians in cars getting coffee

When Jerry Seinfeld came up with the idea for “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”  his unconventional internet talk show that will premiere its sixth season on Wednesday  he initially had trouble finding the right format and backers for the program.

Jerry Seinfeld vulture festivalIn an interview during The Vulture Festival on Saturday, Seinfeld explained how he first went to comedian Louis C.K. for advice on how to release the show.

“I remember when I told the idea to Louis C.K., and I said, ‘I have this idea where I’ll hang out with comedians, and I’ll shoot it, and I’ll cut it together with music and coffee.’ And I asked, ‘What do I do with that?’”

Louis C.K., who broke new ground in the industry by releasing his comedy specials for $5 on his website, suggested that Seinfeld follow a similar payment format.

“He said, ‘You should charge people a dollar to watch.’ And I didn’t like that idea. Nobody knew what to do.”

Seinfeld then went to the offices of Facebook and YouTube and consulted with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), but no one saw the show as a viable possibility at the time.

“I had this big meeting at CAA with these really smart digital people. It was like ten people in the room, people I had read about, never met: ‘This is the guy who meets with Zuckerberg every day. He’s way out there.’

And I said, ‘I have this idea, and it seems like as a person that people know, and I have an audience, people know me, so we can get people to check it out. And the internet seems like a pretty fluid medium… What do you think I could do?’ And they went, ‘I don’t know.’ No idea.”

The issue that most developers had with the show was its extended run time.

“They said, ‘If you’re over five minutes, nobody’s going to hang in there.’ Because the internet — five minutes is the maximum length of time. And we average nineteen minutes a viewer.”

After being rejected from sponsorship by Starbucks, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" eventually came together with the backing of car company Acura in a deal that allowed Seinfeld to write the featured ads himself.

And Louis C.K. even ended up being a guest on "Comedians" in January 2014.

Why 'The Mindy Project' won't get raunchier when it starts airing on Hulu

Mindy Kaling Book Con

A new phenomenon in which rejected or cancelled TV shows go from network to streaming has altered the television landscape.

The latest show to make the leap is "The Mindy Project," which was canceled by Fox on May 6 but was later picked up for a fourth season by Hulu on May 15.

Since web services don't have to deal with the same censorship rules major networks have to comply with, streaming allows for a new set of rules.

While "The Mindy Project" creator Mindy Kaling will now have a lot more freedom, she is happy dealing with some restrictions, which she believes only strengthen her romantic comedy.

The Mindy Project"I think that so much of romance comes from restraint, and I think it's the stuff you don't see, which is what makes it romantic.” Kaling told an audience during a panel at BookCon, an annual convention held at the Javits Center in New York City which celebrates all things books and publishing.

To prove her point, Kaling, who wrote for "The Office," cited the season one episode "Diversity Day" (written by B.J. Novak, who interviewed Kaling at BookCon) and how it planted the early seeds of Jim and Pam's romance in an unexpected way.

The Office Jim Pam"One of the most romantic things that happened in the first season was in the episode 'Diversity Day' ... there's a moment where Jim is basically having the worst moment of his whole career and Pam falls asleep on his shoulder." Kaling remembered. "And you can see just from his expression how romantic and how amazing it was. And that was a woman falling asleep on a grown man's shoulder. So to me, I remember that so much more than like any sexy sex scene you could see on any TV show. So ultimately I always have to remind myself that a little goes a long way."

While writers don't normally praise censorship, Kaling isn't the first person to admit that network constraints can actually be helpful.

"SNL" head Lorne Michaels said in an interview on "Here's the Thing" that constraints can make comedy better.

"...there’s no creativity without boundaries." Michaels told Alec Baldwin on the podcast back in 2012. "I like that you can’t use certain language."

When "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" was passed over by NBC, it went straight to Netflix and yet it was still filled with the kind of restrained dirty humor that is a staple of network comedy. Meanwhile, season four of "Arrested Development," which went from Fox to Netflix, was structurally different and some of the episodes were well beyond 30 minutes long, yet bleeps and blurs were still present.

The transition wasn't easy for Kaling, but she hopes the new season will strike a balance.

Mindy Project

"I was on network television for 11 or 12 years, and being on Hulu it's like 'What can we do now?' Can we just be all sex and drugs? [Showrunner] Matt [Warburton] and I are both smart writers but also repressed people." Kaling said. "We decided we definitely want people who tuned into the show to tune in for two reasons: because there's lots of cool new stuff we're doing that we couldn’t do on network TV, but also not giving up what people love."

"I think we are gonna push the envelope in ways we haven’t been able to, which is great." Kaling added.

Kaling also annoucned this week writers will begin to work on the fourth season of "The Mindy Project." No word yet as to when the new season of "The Mindy Project" will debut, but Kaling's next book, "Why Not Me?" will be released September 29, 2015.

Nintendo denies it's next console will run Android — but it also has a history of denying rumors that are actually true

Nintendo Entertainment System

Nintendo is reportedly sticking with in-house software to run its next game console, currently codenamed "NX."

That's what a Nintendo representative told The Wall Street Journal after a report surfaced earlier this week from Japanese newspaper Nikkei. The report claimed that the company's next game console would run a version of Google's operating system Android.

"There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt Android for NX," a representative told The Wall Street Journal

Though Nintendo's refutation sounds definitive, the Japanese gaming company has a history of flatly refuting rumors from Nikkei that later turned out to be spot-on. And the newspaper has a history of reporting accurate gaming rumors about Japanese game companies.

In 2009 Nikkei reported that Sony was working on a PlayStation Phone. Sony didn't outright deny the report, nor did it offer a statement beyond "no comment." Two years later, Sony released the Xperia Play phone – a joint effort between Sony and Ericsson, powered by a new game service named PlayStation Mobile. A PlayStation Phone, in so many words.

nintendo 3ds xl

In 2012, Nikkei reported that Nintendo was working on a new, larger version of its handheld game console: the 3DS. Nintendo called the report "speculative" and said it contained "numerous errors." And then, soon after, Nintendo announced exactly what Nikkei reported: a larger 3DS game console, dubbed the "3DS XL."

In 2014 Nikkei reported that Nintendo was planning a push into the world of smartphones. First, Nintendo would release trailers via mobile, then "free mini-games" meant to give players a taste of the full experience only available on Nintendo's proprietary hardware (the 3DS and Wii U). And then Nintendo announced its mobile initiative: a partnership with an established company in the mobile space that uses Nintendo characters to create mobile-focused games.

Nintendo mobile plans

So! Is Nintendo's next console – codenamed "NX" – going to run a version of Google's Android OS? Maybe! And also, maybe not. The company isn't even planning to talk about the in-development console until some point in 2016. It's entirely possible that the company is considering basing NX on Android: it's an open platform that many game developers are already familiar with, as well as one that app makers can easily work with.

It's also an OS that's proven successful on a variety of non-mobile platforms, albeit for unsuccesful pieces of hardware – namely, Amazon's Fire TV set-top box and the game console OUYA.

If anything holds back Nintendo from basing its next console on Android, it's the lack of security that comes with using Google's open platform. Software piracy is a huge issue on Android, and Nintendo is notoriously dilligent about security on its consoles – the company has repeatedly gone after third-party companies offering software and hardware workarounds to it consoles, going all the way back to its original NES console.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson has earned a reputation not just as one of America's leading scientists, but also as a fan and critic of science fiction. He critiqued the science behind "Gravity" and praised the accuracy of "Interstellar."

So it's not a surprise Chris Weitz, one of the writers of the "Star Wars" spin-off "Star Wars: Rogue One" tweeted at Tyson to ask for some help with the astronomy of the film.

Here is what Weitz asked:

However, Weitz may not have realized Tyson is a self-proclaimed "Star Trek" fan.

"I never got into 'Star Wars.' Maybe because they made no attempt to portray real physics. At all." Tyson told Business Insider back in 2013.

With 3.7 million followers, Neil deGrasse Tyson is very active on Twitter, but has yet to respond to Weitz's request — in public at least.

Maybe Weitz didn't know about Tyson's strong feelings about "Star Wars," or maybe these spin-offs will look more scientifically accurate than most of the franchise.

All we know is that the director's chair is empty for at least one of the spin-offs, in case Tyson wants to give it a shot.

"Star Wars: Rogue One" will be out in theaters in 2016.

Here's why Caitlyn Jenner's first four children refuse to appear on her new E! reality show

Caitlyn Jenner's first four children support her decision to live life as a women, but they're refusing to be part of her upcoming reality show for E! Entertainment.

According to the Vanity Fair cover story, Caitlyn's four children (all in their 30s) born from Caitlyn's two marriages previous to Kris Jenner — Cassandra, Burt, Brandon, and Brody Jenner — won't appear on the show because they fear that E! and the show's producers, Bunim/Murray, will sensationalize Caitlyn's story.

"They disagree with their father's decision to use not only the same production company that made 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' but many of the same people, including several original executive producers," the article stated.

Hurt and disappointed by their decision, Caitlyn argued that as an executive producer she can keep it from straying away from her desire for the show to tell her story in a way that will be inspiring and informative. The four kids doubt that's possible.

"You go on E!'s web site, the Bunim/Murray web site, and you look at all the shows, every one of them is a circus," Brandon Jenner said during a meeting over hiring a new producer.

He continued, "With Bunim/Murray and E!, it's been the opposite of inspiration. Oh my God, we're diving into the lion's den — they're gonna make a show about the Jenners versus the Kardashians."

kardashian jenner portraitCertainly, bad blood does exist between the four children and Kris Jenner, according to the article.

They feel Kris not only excluded the Jenner side from "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," but further created distance between them and their father. They also had to watch as Bruce became an ideal dad to the Kardashian children, something they had always wanted from the often absentee dad they experienced growing up.

E!'s head of programming, Jeff Olde, told the magazine that he hopes the Jenner side will change their minds once they see "the quality and tone" of the new reality show.

"It's not at all a Kardashian spinoff," he said. "We will not resort to spectacle. That doesn't mean we can't have fun with it."

Gay and married, Olde has been a fighting for gay rights for two decades. "This is so far beyond television, on a personal level," he insisted. "If I get one thing right in my professional career, it will be this.

Additionally, Bunim/Murray's executive vice president of development and programming insisted "ratings are not the goal." "It is to tell Bruce's story the way he wants to be told," he said.

The reality show started shooting in May and premieres Sunday, July 26 at 9 p.m. on E!

Pixar’s next film “Inside Out” isn’t even in theaters yet, but the studio is already starting to tease its big November feature, the dinosaur/human buddy comedy “The Good Dinosaur.”

The studio released the film’s first teaser—which really doesn’t tell you anything about the movie at all, other than the fact that it takes place on an Earth that was never hit by the asteroid that triggered the dinosaurs' extinction. Like most teasers, it doesn’t divulge much, but it does build to a pretty fun sight gag and some “Lion King”-esque art.

Frankly, it’s just great to know that this movie’s on track after a long and tumultuous development that upended Pixar’s release schedule and led to a large number of layoffs. Pixar’s shine may have started to wear off ever so slightly with its dependence on sequels and prequels, but it really is exciting to see the storied studio releasing two back-to-back original films for 2015.

“The Good Dinosaur” arrives in theaters November 25, 2015.

The recent controversy surrounding FIFA isn't stopping the release of a film documenting the association's rise. "United Passions" highlights FIFA's presidents including the soon to be resigned Sepp Blatter. It cost $30 million to make and is largely funded by FIFA itself.  The film received bad reviews at Cannes, with many wondering how FIFA could afford to fund such an expensive self-indulgent project. Watch the trailer to the film above.

Whether or not you watched the show 'Entourage' — you will absolutely love the movie

Entourage MovieWarning: There are some spoilers ahead

I'm not going to beat around the bush here, I was a huge fan of the show "Entourage" and I knew with little doubt in my mind the movie would be awesome.

I was not wrong.

It makes sense, though, when you think about it. For all intents and purposes, the team that made the movie also made the show. They didn't mess with anything.

If you went into the movie expecting and hoping for an hour and 45 minute long version of the successful show, that's what you get here. And that's fantastic. It's also worth noting that I went with someone who hadn't seen a shred of the original series and she loved it too. Creator Doug Ellin has done something very right here.

The movie picks up just six days after the conclusion of the HBO series. That's a bit surprising considering the show's been off the air since 2011. But we don't stay there too long and soon flash forward eight months into the future and launch into our plot.

The basic premise of "Entourage" is generally this: Four childhood friends from humble upbringings in Queens move to LA armed with the new found success of one of the four, Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier).

Throughout the course of the show, Vince rises through a series of highs and lows to Hollywood super stardom. His best friend growing up, Eric (Kevin Connolly), is his manager. His brother, Johnny (Kevin Dillon), a D-list actor, is also around, as well as Turtle (Jerry Ferrara), who drives everyone around and plans parties. Things change and evolve through the course of the series' eight seasons, but that's the basic idea. Those four guys make up the entourage of "Entourage." Most of the time, they all live together and live off of Vince's spoils.

Entourage super gif

The fifth main character is their agent, Ari Gold, played with as much zest and intensity as ever by Jeremy Piven.

The basic plot here revolves around Ari's first project as a Hollywood studio head. Vince has convinced him to let him both star in and direct the movie (which he hasn't done before). Eric is producing, and Johnny gets a small but "pivotal" role.

Things are going decently well with the movie, except Vince and Eric need more money to get the movie finished. To do that, Ari is forced to try to convince the movie's financiers in Texas (played by Billy Bob Thornton and Haley Joel Osment) to pony up more cash. Osment, in a somewhat crazy and a little brilliant turn, travels to LA to see the goings on with the movie itself — and all hell breaks loose.

There's not really much that will surprise you about this movie if you watched the show, and that's why it works. Creator and director Doug Ellin didn't try to fix what wasn't broken, and didn't overstep the bounds of the show. It's the boys of "Entourage" in all their crassness and hilarity in a movie as sharply funny as the series.

ari gold entourageThis is not to say, though, that if you're coming into this movie with no prior knowledge you won't enjoy it. Everyone in the theater I was at seemed to eat this movie up, and there is plenty of exposition at the beginning. It feels a bit forced, especially if you've seen the show. But after thinking about it a bit, I think it works.

Ellin made the choice to use a Piers Morgan long form journalism piece on the guys as a way to give us the basics on our main characters for those who hadn't seen the show. It's fine. I'm sure the team behind the movie thought long and hard about how to sum up eight seasons of television into 15 minutes of exposition. Looking back, I think they made the right choice.

The plot was funny and engaging, a classic "Entourage" tale of rescuing movies from the depths of hell, dealing with relationship stumbles, and of course, partying like rock stars.

One of the big surprises comes courtesy of Haley Joel Osment. Yes, that cute 11-year-old who claimed he could see dead people in an M. Night Shayamalan movie all those years ago is back. He's playing a crass, rich, young Texan that's a royal pain in Vince, Eric, and Ari's butt.

His transformation is awesome in this movie. The guy can act. He's funny, obnoxious, and completely believable as the misguided and naive Texas millionaire.

Entourage Movie

There is also a veritable army of star-studded Hollywood cameos in this one. Let me first put fans of the show at ease, everyone from Billy Walsh to Andrew Dice Clay make appearances here on the tails of their arcs in the original series.

And that's just the beginning. There are cameos here from all over Hollywood and beyond: Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Alba, Warren Buffett, Mark Cuban, Russell Wilson, Ronda Rousey (who makes more than a cameo), Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady, Pharrell Williams, Liam Neeson, Armie Hammer, Kelsey Grammer, George Takei, and the list goes on and on.

There's not much to say about the original cast. They're all as entertaining as they've always been. These guys have plenty of practice in these roles and they all nail them again. It was no surprise the audience was particularly drawn to Ari Gold, Piven's character. He's always been the funniest thing in the show and that didn't change in this movie.

"Entourage" isn't reinventing the wheel here. They found a formula that worked very well for nearly a decade, and now it's on the big screen. This movie is going to alienate the same audience it always has (those sensitive to the sometimes chauvinistic humor), and delight most. It's not a think piece, it's just raunchy, fast-paced fun.

The real achievement here is that the creators didn't overthink this movie, they just continued a beloved story with beloved characters. And those who don't know the show will probably love it almost as much as the ones who do for the same reason it was popular to begin with: great writing, solid cast, and fun stakes. Don't miss this one.

Sandy Goldfarb

Former commodities trader Sandy Goldfarb, known as "Trot" in the trading pits, will be appearing on a brand new Bravo TV series called "Secrets And Wives."

The show, which follows a group of affluent long-time girlfriends from Long Island, premieres tonight at 10/9c.

One trader told us that Goldfarb was "king of the natural gas pit."

He even made the now-defunct Wall Street magazine Trader Monthly's 100 Highest-Earning Traders list for 2005.

A veteran NYMEX pit trader who runs Energylinks Futures, Goldfarb (a.k.a. "Trot") knocked his natty-gas book out of the ozone layer last year amid one hurricane after another and some of the most treacherous volatility ever recorded in the decade and a half since natural-gas futures were created. Like most locals, Goldfarb relies on technical indicators more than longer-term fundamentals.

When the technicals line up, "that's when you load the boat," Goldfarb told attendees at a Natural Gas Intelligence workshop held this summer in New York. World-class energy trader, star racehorse owner, epic bash thrower, NYMEX institution. Not only is Sandy's boat fully loaded, but so are his pockets. For the record, Goldfarb insists he made less than $10 million. Our sources say otherwise.

Based on what we've seen of the show, it appears that Goldfarb is also the king of armpit laser hair removal, too.

Sandy GoldfarbDuring a teaser clip for the show, his wife, Cori, lifted up his arms and asked, "Did you laser hair removal all of your under arm pit?"

"What does it look like?" Goldfarb asked. "There's only one or two parts I have left to laser."

After he left Wall Street, Goldfarb and his wife opened a spa on Long Island called Truth + Beauty.

Goldfarb's wife complained about his excessive skin and hair regimen.

"In the morning, Sandy takes longer to get ready than I even do," his wife said. "He puts on his eye cream. He has toner. He has serums. He has creams. He has gels. He lotions up his body. He has neck cream. I mean, it's insane! He's like a woman."

She added: "It drives me insane because he's a guy, like get ready and go."

There's a light at the end of the tunnel for "Arrested Development" fans waiting for a new season of the cult comedy.

Producer Brian Grazer said that the series is set to begin production for Season 5 on Jan. 1, 2016 and will return to Netflix around four months later in June, according to TheWrap.

“Netflix is determined to do more episodes, so we’re going to do more episodes,” Grazer said on Tuesday's "Adam Carolla Show" podcast.

Grazer said that television studio behind the show, 20th Century Fox, is on board again and that he had just informed creator Mitchell Hurwitz of the news from the podcast's green room.

In April, Grazer said the next season would consist of 17 episodes, up from Season 4's 15 episodes.

A Netflix representative told Business Insider the streaming video service had no comment on Grazer's statements.

Why Google won't tell you where to watch 'Aloha'

aloha 2

When you Google the title of a recently released movie, Google is kind enough to gather all the theater showtime information at the top of the site. It's one of the easiest ways to find showtimes, and always my go to before I head to the theater.

Go ahead, try it. It works with every movie, even smaller independent films that are only showing at one or two theaters. avengersgoogle

clouds google

In spite of (and probably because of ) the onslaught of sheer hatred from critics, I simply must see Cameron Crowe's latest opus "Aloha." But Google doesn't want me to.

When you type in "Aloha," showtimes are simply not listed.

alohagoogle

Maybe it's a fluke, right?

Wrong. Even when you type in "Aloha showtimes NYC" you get nothing.

aloha showtimes

In case you think "Aloha" is too common a word for Google to recognize it as a title, take Dreamworks' "Home" into account.

home google

What gives?

UPDATE: A Google spokesperson has issued a response to our inquiry:

"Google Search is a bit of a malihini to "Aloha"—it's still learning that people may be looking for the movie and not a greeting. Our algorithms should begin to recognize and highlight the movie wikiwiki. Mahalo for asking!"
