Louis C.K. fought to keep Jimmy Fallon from getting hired on 'The Dana Carvey Show'

There was a time when even some of today's biggest comedy stars struggled.

While promoting the new season of "Louie" on "The Tonight Show," Louis C.K. shared a story about a time when both he and Jimmy Fallon were struggling comics in New York, and Louis attempted to sabotage Fallon's budding career.

While working as the head writer of the short-lived "The Dana Carvey Show," C.K. oversaw Fallon's audition for the show. Fallon apparently played guitar and did impressions of famous musicians, which sounds very similar to the "Late Night" bits that made him a huge star.

Jimmy Fallon Neil Young

While most of the staff was onboard with hiring Fallon, Louis was against it.

"I think I actually said, 'I will quit the show if you hire that kid," he said. While he knew that Fallon was going to be a star, the decision was mainly out of pure jealousy.

"This is really f****d up to be doing this because this kid is really talented, but I don't want to look at him every day because it will make me upset about myself," C.K. added.

Even though Fallon seemed only partially upset that Louis C.K. "squashed [his] dreams," C.K. was quick to note that "The Dana Carvey Show" got cancelled after seven episodes, and thus getting rejected might have been the best thing for him.

"Everything that happens in your path leads to where you are, right?" was the advice C.K. had to offer.

Louis CK Dana Carvey Show

Louis C.K. and Jimmy Fallon have both had their own, diverging paths of success since their first encounter. "Louie" is the first basic-cable sitcom ever to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. C.K. is also the first comic ever to sell out Madison Square Garden "three times in a single tour." "Louie" returns to FX on April 9.

Meanwhile, Fallon co-anchored Weekend Update while on "Saturday Night Live" and has consistently topped his competition in the 11:30 PM slot as host of "The Tonight Show."

Meet Scientology's lobbyist who works the halls of Congress for the church

For over ten years, records show the Church of Scientology has had one man lobbying Congress on its behalf.

According to House of Representatives and US Senate disclosure reports, the controversial religious group has paid over $1 million to Greg Mitchell to lead its lobbying efforts since 2003.

No other lobbyist has reported working for the church during this period.

A spokesperson for the Church said Mitchell's lobbying work is "aligned to our broad humanitarian social initiatives."

In his disclosure reports, Mitchell provided extensive details about his lobbying for Scientology. These records show he has focused on several areas for the church — pursuing federal funding for Scientology's educational programs and disaster relief efforts, promoting efforts to help prisoners re-enter society, working to promote programs to help religious workers immigrate to the US, and working to make "international religious freedom" a priority for the government.

Greg Mitchell In a conversation with Business Insider on Wednesday, Mitchell said his work on "religious freedom" is currently the main focus of his lobbying for the church. This work often involves working with other religious organizations to encourage the US to put pressure on foreign countries that are persecuting religious groups.

"The US government ... they already do raise these issues with all these countries," Mitchell said. "So, I work with like all the different faiths in order to keep working with the US government to get them to make it a higher priority."

Mitchell said his efforts to pursue federal funding were limited to a few specific instances. He characterized his work on immigration issues as a "secondary thing" and said his work on prisoner re-entry mostly occurred during the early period he lobbied on Scientology's behalf.

Mitchell explained that his efforts to promote prisoner re-entry were conducted in conjunction with Scientology's rehabilitation programs for criminals and drug abusers, Narconon and Criminon.

Mitchell is the founder and chief executive officer of The Mitchell Firm. He is a member of the church and has been lobbying on its behalf since 2003.

"I have friends who are in it and they're the ones who really introduced me to it," Mitchell said.

Mitchell said the church approached him to lead its lobbying efforts because of his personal belief in Scientology programs.

"That's really why they asked me to represent them. I did it because I believe in the programs," said Mitchell.Scientology 52Along with support for "their reform programs like Criminon," Mitchell said he appreciates the way Scientology works with and for other groups to support religious freedom internationally. He characterized this as a "multi faith approach."

Mitchell entered the political arena as a college senior in California where he worked for former Rep. Carlos Moorhead (R-California) beginning as an intern. He went on to serve as chief of staff for former Rep. James Rogan (R-California), both when Rogan led the California State Assembly and during his time in Congress. Mitchell began working as a campaign consultant in 2000 and started his firm in 2003.

His company site features pictures of Mitchell posing with politicians including former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton. It also touts his "political instincts gained from vast experience organizing grassroots efforts, managing successful political campaigns, and getting bipartisan legislation passed and signed into law."

Along with the Church of Scientology, Mitchell has represented other clients including the American Civil Liberties Union, Families Against Mandatory Minimums, and the Open Society Policy Center. He said his work with these other groups has also focused on prison reform and religious freedom.

Scientology has been in the spotlight in recent weeks following the release of the HBO documentary "Going Clear" last month. The detailed various allegations that have been leveled against the church by critics including that it bilks followers out of money and has subjected them to physical abuse. Scientology has issued extensive and detailed rebuttals denying many of the claims made in "Going Clear."

One critic who appeared in "Going Clear" is Mike Rinder, a former high-ranking Scientology executive who left the church in 2007. The church has also released lengthy statements questioning Rinder's motives and credibility. In a conversation with Business Insider, Rinder said that he was "not familiar" with Mitchell.

"Back in my day, the lobbying in Washington was really done through Hill & Knowlton," Rinder said.

However, Rinder said foreign religious persecution was still the main focus of the church's lobbying efforts before Mitchell began leading the operation. He connected this to what he described as the church's belief its members were being mistreated in foreign countries where it has expanded over the years.

"What they primarily were dealing with was human rights violations, the persecution of Scientologists in Germany and France, or trying to get the State Department in the US to act to curtail what the church believed were abuses of its parishioners in those foreign countries," Rinder explained.

According to Bloomberg, Hill & Knowlton "resigned the Church of Scientology account" in 1991 after some of the company's clients in the pharmaceutical industry complained due to the religion's efforts campaigns against psychiatric drugs.

Mitchell's work for the church has included lobbying members of Congress and President Barack Obama's White House transition team. According to Mitchell, officials in Washington have largely been "accepting" of him as he has represented Scientology in spite of the fact the church has been controversial. He attributed this to the fact many of Scientology's lobbying efforts have been conducted in conjunction with other religious groups.

"They're accepting because it's really about the issues and not the client. I do issue and cause-based lobbying. And all the issues I work on are issues that they are interested in also," Mitchell said of the officials he has encountered while working for Scientology, adding,  "I do a lot of my lobbying in coalitions. ... When I did meetings with the Obama transition team, I was there shoulder-to-shoulder with representatives of other faiths."

How J Lo inspired Google to create image search

Jennifer Lopez 2000 GrammysGoogle image search was created 15 years ago but its surprising backstory was only revealed earlier this year.

The search giant created image search because of overwhelming demand from people who wanted to see pictures of pop singer Jennifer Lopez in the green dress she wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards, executive chairman Eric Schmidt explained in a January blog post.

"At the time, it was the most popular search query we had ever seen," Schmidt wrote for Project Syndicate. "But we had no surefire way of getting users exactly what they wanted: JLo wearing that dress. Google Image Search was born."

The nearly skin-tight dress left little to the imagination, the world wanted to see it.

Prior to the birth of Google Image Search, web surfers could only find a page of text segmented by 10 blue links. People had to blindly click on those links in hopes of seeing Lopez in the  Versace dress.

JLO and Puffy

Also forgotten since that infamous night 15 years ago? Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs, he now goes by Diddy, was Lopez's date to the awards show.

Schmidt did not mention him in his trip down memory lane.

Now is the perfect time to buy a Nintendo 3DS

Tired of clashing clans and crushed candy? Wondering what your old pals Mario and Luigi are up to? Don't worry: They've been waiting for you, starring in killer game after killer game on platforms you've ignored since "growing up."

Stop holding out on that handheld game console purchase, friend. The time is now!

The 3DS is the perfect re-introduction to classic video games.

You grew up playing games and have since fallen off, right? Typical. That's okay — you're forgiven. And the 3DS is here to support your re-introduction to games. Maybe you just want to play old "Mega Man" games. You can totally do that. How about Mario's greatest hits? Also an option!

When you're ready to step up to the current versions of your favorite old games, they're ready and waiting. "Super Mario 3D Land" is one of the best Mario games ever made. Maybe you loved "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" on your Super Nintendo back in the early 90s? The spiritual successor, "A Link Between Worlds," is only on the 3DS.

The best version of the 3DS is the current model.

New 3DS XLGame console-makers really like to re-release hardware in new form factors. The 3DS is no exception here: There are five versions of it, starting with the original handheld launched in 2011.

Thankfully, none of that matters because the latest version of the 3DS is the definitive iteration. It's called the "New" Nintendo 3DS, which just means it's a faster, larger, all around better version of the original. And given that it's been four years since the original model, we're calling it pretty unlikely that another, even better model ever comes out.

Your favorite retro games are on 3DS.

New Nintendo 3DS XL

Maybe you're not ready to jump into current games. That's okay! The 3DS has a crucial digital store named "Virtual Console", which is filled with games of yore. It's where you'll find the original "Super Mario Bros.," a mess of "Mega Man" games, and cult classics like "Ninja Gaiden." Should you wish to use the 3DS solely as a means to re-live retro glory, that option is very much available to you.

It’s full of actual games, not time wasters.

Mario Kart 7"Candy Crush" is a perfectly fine distraction, but it's not much of a game. While Mario and Luigi are certainly a distraction unto themselves, the games they star in tend toward quality over addiction. Simply put: the games on 3DS aim to entertain rather than hook you in.

They don't ask you to buy in-game "energy" to progress. They don't push you to watch adverts in exchange for "free" in-game money. They just aim to entertain. Why "distract" your brain when you could delight it instead?

The best games are inexpensive, one-time buys.

Nintendo 3DS eShopOne of the best "Super Mario" games ever made costs about $25 on the Nintendo 3DS. One of the best "Legend of Zelda" games ever made costs just shy of $40. The newest "Smash Bros." — featuring over 40 of Nintendo's characters fighting to the death — costs about the same. Better yet, the games are all downloadable. And there are regular sales on the digital store. No harassing you for in-game purchases, just a one-time purchase of a fully realized game.

Comcast isn't happy about those weird Rob Lowe DirecTV ads

Painfully awkward Rob Lowe DirecTV

Complaints from Comcast have led an industry trade group to recommend DirecTV pull a bizarre series of commercials featuring actor Rob Lowe.

The ads — which featured alter-egos of the actor who had cable while a smooth-talking, sharply dressed Lowe urged people to switch to satellite — have been discontinued. DirecTV says it did not pull them. Rather, they had already planned to start a new campaign during the second quarter.

DirecTV said in a statement to AdAge that the Lowe ads were scheduled to be replaced with spots showing Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover model Hannah Davis and a talking, singing horse. The new commercials began airing during the Final Four.

"The Rob Lowe spots were always scheduled to end at the end of Q1," said the satellite provider, adding "We definitely reserve the right to bring back the Rob Lowe campaign, either in its current form or with new spots ... It has been extremely successful for the brand."

The National Advertising Division (NAD), which is affiliated with the Council of Better Business Bureaus, argued late Wednesday that DirecTV pull the ads because the following claims made by Lowe were mostly incorrect:

  • With DirecTV you get 99% signal reliability
  • With DirecTV you get 99.9% signal reliability
  • With DirecTV you get 1080p picture quality and Dolby 5.1. The industry’s best picture quality and sound
  • Up to 1080p picture quality
  • DirecTV is #1 in customer satisfaction over all cable TV providers
  • DirecTV is ranked higher than cable for over 10 years
  • DirecTV is the undisputed leader in sports which means you can watch all the games you want
  • When it comes to sports, with DirecTV, you can have them all

"The National Advertising Division has recommended that DirecTV, LLC, discontinue certain advertising claims made in a series of television commercials that feature actor Rob Lowe and one of several odd or awkward alter-ego characters," the group said in a statement.

The trade group agreed only with DirecTV on claims based on signal reliability and 1080p picture quality. NAD's ruling has no legal standing, but the satellite provider has vowed to repeal.

DirecTV also argued: "The various Rob Lowe advertisements are so outlandish and exaggerated that no reasonable consumer would believe that the statements being made by the alter ego characters are comparative or need to be substantiated."

On the air since the Super Bowl, personas including "peaked in high school," "bad decision making," and "creepy" Rob Lowe suffered through cable service in between scenes with Lowe espousing the virtues of satellite television.

The campaign previously made headlines when a group called the International Paruresis Association (IPA) railed against "scrawny arms" Rob Lowe being unable to pee in public. Paruresis is also known as "shy bladder" and affects around 200 million people around the world, IPA claims.

“In this particular case the portrayal is making it look ridiculous, that this guy is a loser for having a problem,” group CEO Steve Soifer told the Associated Press"What if he didn't have a leg or an arm?" he continued. "Are you going to make fun of them?"

Lowe stood by the ads in a comment posted to Twitter.

yunkai game of thrones

The fifth season of "Game of Thrones" starts this Sunday (Monday if you're in the UK), promising another 10 episodes of scheming, sex, and bloody violence in the fractured fictional kingdoms of Westeros and Essos.

With a staggering $6 million spent per episode, no expense is spared to faithfully replicate George R. R. Martin's world. Actors and crew travel to Iceland, Morocco, Ireland, and beyond to find the sets that represent the icy crags of the Vale, the untamed wilds of the North, and the bitter desert cities around Slaver's Bay.

But can you tell which is which? With a keen eye — and an encyclopedic knowledge of the Seven Kingdoms — it's possible to identify which real-life windswept hill stands in for the Crownlands, and which snowy tundra is North of the Wall.

(Warning: This post contains extensive spoilers for already-aired episodes of Game of Thrones.)

Let's start with an easy one. Castle Ward in County Down, Northern Ireland, provided the backdrop for which famous castle?

Yep — it's Winterfell, the historic seat of House Stark, ruling family of the North. Trailers suggest we will be seeing more of Winterfell this season.

The first cast photo for the ‘Suicide Squad’ movie reveals new cast members

On Wednesday night, “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer (“Fury”) tweeted out the first photo from inside the making of Warner Bros.' comic book adaptation of the DC Comics series.

It’s a group shot of Ayer and some of the cast while doing a script read-through, which follows a group of incarcerated DC supervillians on black-ops missions for the US government.

The picture doesn’t have the complete cast as Jared Leto (who will play The Joker) and Scott Eastwood are notably missing. Eastwood's character hasn’t been announced yet, but the rumors are he’ll play Steve Trevor, known best as a love interest of Wonder Woman.

The internet went crazy over the photo. In addition to seeing Will Smith (Deadshot, an enemy of Batman), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn, The Joker's girlfriend), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller, nemesis of Green Lantern, among others), and other confirmed cast members sitting together, Ayer gave us a look at a few additions to the film.

Here's an annotated version of the photo below:

suicidesquadcast2Latino-Review predicts Jim Parrack (“Fury”) will play Deathstroke, nemesis of Batman and Green Arrow; Adam Beach (“Flags of Our Fathers”) will be Ravan, sometimes with or against Suicide Squad members; and Ike Barinholtz (“Neighbors”) will play Batman villain, Hugo Strange.

The casting of Jay Hernandez (“Hostel) was announced earlier this year, and though his character has been a mystery, MTV believes he'll play El Diablo, a vigilante known best from the Jonah Hex comics. MTV also predicts the least-known person in the photo, Karen Fukuhara, will play Plastique, a nemesis of Captain Atom.

“Suicide Squad” is set to be out in theaters summer of 2016.

spike lee thinking

As Netflix continues to be the leader of original content in the streaming world, Amazon is proving it isn’t going away quietly.

The Wrap reported on Wednesday that Amazon Studios, which is responsible for developing original content for its video streaming section of the site, has made a deal with legendary director Spike Lee to release his next film, “Chiraq.”

The film, which will be set in Chicago, is expected to star Chicago-born talent such as Common and Jeremy Piven as well as Kanye West, who grew up there. The story will focus on the city’s recent increase in gun violence.

Lee is also working on signing longtime casting favorite Samuel L. Jackson for a cameo, according to the report.

This continues the battle between Amazon and Netflix for our streaming viewership.

Netflix already has critically acclaimed original shows like “Orange Is The New Black” and “House of Cards,” not to mention their recent hit, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” They’ve now begun building original feature film content by making multi-film deals with Adam Sandler, the Duplass brothers and nabbing the much-anticipated Cary Fukunaga (“True Detective”) film, “Beasts Of No Nation.”

But Amazon is holding its own. Along with the Lee film, they signed another legend, Woody Allen, to create his first-ever television series for them.

Louis C.K. captured why New York is the greatest city in the world in 2 brutally honest sentences

$

Louie_Pamela_pt3_0382_hires2

Louis C.K. is the foul-mouthed, truth-telling uncle you wished you always had.

While he spends a lot of time talking about things he hates (like cell phones and deer), the dude is also capable of epic love.

Case in point: New York City.

One big reason?

Unlike in other towns — namely Los Angeles— you can't avoid seeing people who look, sound, and dress differently than you do.

Like he told the Hollywood Reporter, it's part of what makes New York so special.

"Outside some fancy office building, you see a CEO getting his cigarette lit by a cleaning lady,"he said."Everybody is dealing with the same shit, everybody is on the subway elbow-to-elbow."

In other words, New York is diverse

In more than one way:

• Unlike America's famous one-industry cities — DC and politics, LA and entertainment, SF and tech — New York has a pile of different major industries, from finance to fashion to publishing to news media.

• While the housing is only getting more expensive in Manhattan and Brooklyn, people from different socioecomic classes still pile into the same subway cars on the way to and from work.

It's overwhelming.

It's glorious.

And it's what captured Louis C.K. when he first came here.

"I came here for the first time when I was in high school, and I remember going into the subway by myself," he recalled to the Reporter. "It was the really old, white metal C trains, all dingy inside, and I went into a packed car. It was all these faces — tired-looking people, people from all over the world — and my heart was pounding. It was such a thrill just to be in that."

The psych research suggests that it's super healthy to live and work in diverse places.

In their reporting on diversity research, Scientific American concludes that "being around people who are different from us makes us more creative, more diligent and harder-working."

The Australian comedy group SketchShe's "Bohemian Carsody" video raked in over 20 million views on YouTube. Now the three models-turned-stand-up-comics have returned with a new hit.

Their latest video, "Mime Through Time," features the three women decked up in period-style outfits as they sing songs from the past 75 years.

Sketchshe
They belt out tunes from artists including Britney Spears and the Beatles, and they even strip down naked for their final act.

SketchsheThe video has already proved a smash hit. It has over 19 million views on YouTube and hundreds of millions more on Facebook.

SketchsheIt's an impressive feat considering the three women joined forces only in December. Shae-Lee Shackleford, 28, Lana Kington, 25, and Madison Lloyd, 27, are members of the same modeling agency and became fast friends.

SketchSheThey decided to get together and film the hilarious videos in Shackleford's father's driveway and had no idea the enormous attention they would receive.

"The fact that we've had people writing to us from around the world... I don't think there's been a country or continent that hasn't reached out and written to us to say they loved it," Shackleford tells the Daily Mail.

SketchsheDespite international attention and a Los Angeles press tour, however, their filming methods are still very DIY. "The first time we had a bra in the car, so we taped the iPhone to it and propped it up that way, but this time we upgraded to a block of wood, but it's still very dodgy," Shackleford says.

It's hard not to adore Anne Hathaway after watching her perform 'Wrecking Ball'

$

0

Anne Hathaway is back, and she came in like a wrecking ball.

In Thursday's episode of Spike TV's "Lip Sync Battle," Hathaway faced Emily Blunt, her costar in "The Devil Wears Prada," in a performance of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" that came across as effortlessly fun and carefree.

This is not what people are used to from Hathaway, who in 2013 accepted the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in "Les Miserables" and stood on stage and softly said "it came true" (a possible reference to the Les Mis song "I Dreamed a Dream") to seemingly no one but herself and the gold statue.

It Came True

After that, it was hard to visit any website without finding a post about Hathaway. Though she is a wildly successful actress, the running theme of that spring seemed to be contrasting her with Jennifer Lawrence, who was somewhat of an "America's sweetheart" after her breakout in "The Hunger Games."

Google the sentence "Why does everyone hate Anne Hathaway" and you get page after page of posts and essays on the topic, including a piece published in The New York Times in April 2013 titled "Do We Really Hate Anne Hathaway?"

From that article:

"It's not really Anne Hathaway I 'hate,'" said Sarah Nicole Prickett, a writer for Vice and The New Inquiry, a culture and commentary site. "It's all the lesser, real-life Anne Hathaways I have known — princessy, theater-schooled girls who have no game and no sex appeal and eat raisins for dessert."

Ever since, Hathaway has been on a quiet mission to change the narrative that was being constructed for her by the public. And Thursday night, just a little over two years after that article was published, Hathaway took the stage with "Lip Sync Battle" host LL Cool J to mouth along the words to Mary J. Blige's "Love."

This is not the same Hathaway everyone was hating on in 2013.

Anne 11

Her carefree, fun-loving attitude was a 180-degree shift from her persona. She looked like the kind of girl you want to invite to your next karaoke party because she'd help the shy guests feel comfortable enough to get up and sing.

This is an Anne Hathaway you enjoy watching, and not just for mean tweet fodder.

Even Chrissy Teigen enjoyed it.

Anne 3

Then Emily Blunt fought back with her lip-sync rendition of Blackstreet's "No Diggity."

Anne watched from the sidelines. So charming!

Anne 10

Blunt gave Hathaway a run for her money. Anne even ran up on stage to "Kanye" Blunt as she was talking to LL Cool J (as if you could forget West's run-in with Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs). And it was funny, for a joke that's nearly six years old.

Anne 6

Then came round two, where Blunt gave a rousing performance of Janis Joplin's "Piece of my Heart."

But it was nothing compared with what Hathaway had in store.

Anne 8

The crowd absolutely lost it. It was a risk! Two years ago, we would have probably hated it. It would have been too theatrical, or too try-hard, or simply, just too much.

But inexplicably, it was a perfect move for Hathaway, who seems to have played a very active role in turning her reputation around.

Hathaway won Thursday night's episode of "Lip Sync Battle," and more importantly, she might have also won back all of our hearts.

The new 'Star Wars' films have a different opening fanfare — here's what it looks and sounds like

"Star Wars" fans everywhere will remember the drum roll and opening fanfare of the 20th Century Fox logo at the beginning of each film — but that's all gone now in the new "Star Wars" digital releases on sale Friday.

Because Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4 billion, it seemed logical that future "Star Wars" films would no longer feature the 20th Century Fox logo and fanfare. But it turns out Disney has also removed it from all previous "Star Wars" films (except for the original 1977 "Star Wars," as 20th Century Fox still owns the distribution rights).

In place of the 20th Century Fox opening, Disney now begins each "Star Wars" episode with the Lucasfilm logo but has given it its own opening fanfare that is pretty close to the original's — there are still trumpets, but the classic drumroll is gone.

Here's what the new opening looks and sounds like, courtesy of Instagram user Matt Downham.

For comparison, here's what the original intro with the 20th Century Fox logo was like.

While some "Star Wars" fans may like how Disney and Lucasfilm are trying to preserve the tone and feel of the opening "Star Wars" experience, some older fans will most likely miss the iconic original.

The next film in the franchise, the JJ Abrams-directed "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens," has finished filming and will hit theaters December 18.

All six of the existing "Star Wars" films are available for digital download starting Friday, and you can purchase them right here.

Louis C.K. has a characteristically no-frills way of making sure his daughters aren't spoiled

Louis CK

Comedian Louis C.K. is known for his every-man persona, talking publicly about his modest upbringing and family life.

He's also worth about $25 million.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, C.K. explained a little about how important it is for his two daughters to respect the value of hard work, and how he teaches them this lesson on a daily basis:

The thing that keeps me stable now more than anything is my kids. They're who I bring the Emmys home to, and they're excited for me and proud of me. But I also make them aware of what it takes to get to these places. I talk to them about work, and I hope they both have shitty minimum wage retail jobs when they're old enough.

I really try to be aware of not letting them grow up weird or spoiled, which is easier to do here than it is in L.A. My 13-year-old daughter leaves the house at 7:15 every morning and takes a smelly city bus to school way uptown. It's like 8 degrees out, and it's dark and she's got this morning face and I send her out there to take a bus.

Meanwhile, my driver is sitting in a toasty Mercedes that's going to take me to work once both kids are gone. I could send her in the Mercedes and then have it come back to get me, but I can't have my kid doing that. I can't do that to her. Me? I earned that f—ing Mercedes. You better f—ing believe it.

All of the "Star Wars" movies are now available to download via various streaming services. Included in the downloads are a bundle of extra features featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews. One of the features reveals the original design of the iconic Millennium Falcon spaceship.

It turns out the ship's design came at the last minute after the original had to be jettisoned because it looked too similar to a spacecraft in the European TV-show "Space 1999."
