According to TMZ, music megastars Jay Z and Beyoncé could soon be the proud owners of this 23,000-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills that was listed back in September.

The couple have gone to view the home six times already, and TMZ reports a deal could close soon for $70 million, $15 million less than the original $85 million asking price.

The insane home has views of Malibu Beach and downtown Los Angeles, and the real estate listing warns: “be prepared for an overwhelming sensory experience unlike any you've felt before." It’s not exaggerating.

The property last sold in August of 2012 for $12.65 million, according to Zillow. The over-the-top house is listed by Ben Bacal Realty as well as Branden Williams and Rayni Romito Williams of Williams & Williams.

Welcome to 1181 North Hillcrest. The home was listed in September for $85 million.

It's located in the elite Beverly Hills neighborhood of Trousdale Estates.

The home received a complete overhaul after being purchased back in 2012. The new design is stunning.

Netflix really wants to up its streaming game.

Chief content officer Ted Sarandos said he's ready for Netflix to offer much more original content at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference on Monday.

Vulture first reported Sarandos's comments.

"I think that we can expand on our original programming ... from where we are today to probably as many as 20 original series. So the idea of launching original series or [an] original season of content every two [and a] half weeks," said Sarandos.

That doesn't mean we'll see 20 new television shows from Netflix.

"Not a show or not a new show for everybody, every two and a half weeks, but a new show that for segments of the viewership every couple of weeks," Sarandos explained.

Sarandos said this newer content model will begin with Netflix's upcoming original movies.

Netflix will release its first original movie, a sequel to 2000's Oscar-winning "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," Aug. 28, 2015.

The streaming service also has an exclusive four-movie deal in place with Adam Sandler.

This year, Netflix received 31 Emmy nominations, but was shut-out at the awards ceremony.

Netflix also recently snagged a Tina Fey comedy, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," from NBC.

REPORT: HBO's Standalone Streaming Service Is Coming In April

Nic Pizzolatto Matthew McConaughey Woody Harrelson True Detective HBO

HBO will release its standalone streaming service in April to coincide with the premiere of the fourth season of "Game of Thrones," according to Fortune.

HBO will be using different technology to power its standalone streaming service, so there's a chance the app will look a little different than the current HBO Go app.

Based on Fortune's report, it also sounds like there will be fewer outages during popular TV shows such as "Game of Thrones" and "True Detective."

HBO is reportedly outsourcing the work to an external technology firm called MLB Advanced. The company killed an in-house project called Maui that would have built the streaming technology in-house, and some HBO employees think the company's CTO Otto Berkes is responsible for the outages that plagued the service, according to Fortune. Berkes reportedly knew about a "memory leak" that caused the outages for nine months, but didn't think it was a significant issue, Fortune reports.

The next season of "Game of Thrones" debuts on April 6, so if Fortune's report is legitimate we'll be hearing about the streaming service within the next few months. The service would allow you to pay to access HBO's library of TV shows, movies, and documentaries without a cable subscription. Pricing is expected to land at around $15 per month, as The Information previously reported, but HBO has yet to make an announcement.

We've reached out to HBO for comment and will update this story accordingly.

A Timeline Of The Crazy Events In The Sony Hacking Scandal

seth rogen james franco the interview

For the past two weeks, Sony Pictures Entertainment has been the subject of a series of scary cyber attacks that have shut down the company's computer system and revealed employees' personal information such as salaries, addresses, and Social Security Numbers.

Every day, there has been some sort of new leaked information about Sony released by a group calling themselves "Guardians of Peace" (GOP).

The Interview PosterIt isn't clear who the GOP are exactly, but many are linking the group to North Korea, who denounced Sony's upcoming Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy "The Interview" all the way back in June. The movie centers around two journalists recruited by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

North Korea has denied any involvement with the hack, but has said they're glad it happened.

Since the initial seizing of Sony's computer system by GOP nearly two weeks ago, it's been hard to keep track of every incident that has occurred since, when, and the reasons why.

Catch up on the crazy series of events below:

June 2014:

The Pyongyang government denounce "The Interview" as "undisguised sponsoring of terrorism, as well as an act of war" in a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. North Korea promises "decisive and merciless countermeasure" if "the U.S. administration tacitly approves or supports" the Seth Rogen-written and directed comedy.

Sony ignores the comments and moves forward with the film's December 25th release date.

The Interview seth rogen james franco

Monday, November 24:

A month before the movie's release, a hacker group calling themselves "Guardians of Peace" take over the internal computer system at Sony, displaying their own messages and skeleton image, and seizing control of promotional Twitter accounts for Hollywood movies.

After employees were told not to use their computers after the attack, a Sony Pictures source told the Times"There are people sitting at their desks trying to do their job with a pen and paper."

Saturday, November 27:

Five unreleased Sony films hit the web on copyright-infringing file-sharing hubs. The movies include "Annie," "Still Alice," "Mr. Turner," "To Write Love On Her Arms," and "Fury" — but no "The Interview."

After just two days on the web, Brad Pitt's new flick "Fury" had been downloaded by over 888,000 unique IP addresses.

Monday, December 1:

The FBI launches an investigation with the studio's support.

"The FBI is working with our interagency partners to investigate the recently reported cyber-intrusion at Sony Pictures Entertainment," the FBI said in a statement. "The targeting of public and private sector computer networks remains a significant threat, and the FBI will continue to identify, pursue and defeat individuals and groups who pose a threat in cyberspace."

Tuesday, December 2:

The salaries of 17 top paid executives of Sony Pictures Entertainment leaks online.

Fusion’s Kevin Roose published the spreadsheet, explaining: "I received a link to a public Pastebin file containing the documents from an anonymous e-mailer ... one interesting tidbit caught my eye: a spreadsheet containing the salaries of more than 6,000 Sony Pictures employees, including the company’s top executives."

The cyber attack also made public Sony employees' names, job titles, home addresses, bonus plans, and salaries.

Wednesday, December 3:

Sony CEO Michael Lynton and co-chairman Amy Pascal — whose $3 million salaries were revealed in the previous day's attack — send their first company-wide memo calling the situation "a brazen attack on our company, our employees and our business partners, adding that "the release of employee and other information are malicious criminal acts, and we are working closely with law enforcement."

Additionally on this day, James Franco and Seth Rogen's "The Interview" paychecks are revealed. The documents, as reported by Bloomberg, show Rogen was paid $8.4 million and Franco $6.5 million for their roles.

Later, an unreleased "Breaking Bad" pilot script leaks online.

Thursday, December 4:

Leaked Sony employee notes reveal they're not Adam Sandler fans. One staffer complaint stated:

There is a general "blah-ness" to the films we produce. Although we manage to produce an innovative film once in awhile, Social Network, Moneyball, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, we continue to be saddled with the mundane, formulaic Adam Sandler films. Let's raise the bar a little on the films we produce, and inspire employees that they are working on the next Social Network.

Friday, December 5:

The hackers send an email threatening employees' families if they don't support GOP's goals. The creepy message stated: "Please sign your name to object the false of the company at the email address below if you don't want to suffer damage. If you don't, not only you but your family will be in danger."

Saturday, December 6:

Seth Rogen and James Franco address the controversy on "Saturday Night Live." Show host Franco joked during his monologue:

"Something pretty crazy happened this week. I have this movie called 'The Interview' coming out at Sony and this week Sony Studios got all their computers hacked... These hackers have leaked real personal information about everybody that works at Sony and I know eventually they're going to start leaking out stuff about me. So before you hear it from someone else, I thought it would be better if you hear it from me. Soon you'll know that my email is CuterThanDaveFranco@AOL.com. My password is LittleJamesyCutiePie — and this is all just a real violation of my personal life."

seth rogen james franco snl

Sunday, December 7:

North Korea denies its involvement with the Sony hack, but calls it a "righteous deed."

A spokesman of the country's National Defense Commission released a statement explaining North Korea didn't know "for what wrongdoings [Sony] became the target of the attack," he speculated that it "might be a righteous deed of the supporters and sympathizers" of the country who want to help "put an end to US imperialism."

North Korea also called out the Sony-produced movie "The Interview," which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco plotting to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The country had previously called the movie an "act of war" and in this new statement acknowledges it as "a film abetting a terrorist act while hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership" of North Korea.

interview

Monday, December 8:

Sony hackers post a new message online demanding the studio pull "The Interview." In a note posted on GitHub, the GOP wrote:

We have already given our clear demand to the management team of SONY, however, they have refused to accept.
It seems that you think everything will be well, if you find out the attacker, while no reacting to our demand.
We are sending you our warning again.
Do carry out our demand if you want to escape us.
And, Stop immediately showing the movie of terrorism which can break the regional peace and cause the War!
You, SONY & FBI, cannot find us.

Soon after: Sony CEO Michael Lynton sent a company-wide memo to staff assuring the studio is doing everything it can to protect employees after a series of cyber attacks that revealed their personal information, including Social Security Numbers and addresses. Lynton promised staffers the FBI "have dedicated their senior staff to this global investigation" and that "recognized experts are working on this matter and looking out for our security."

Later that night: The hackers reveal celebrity aliases online. The fake names used by Natalie Portman, Tom Hanks, Daniel Craig, and other A-list stars are exposed to the public. Interestingly, Jessica Alba likes to call herself "Cash Money."

Tuesday, December 9:

The hackers release the full email boxes of Sony execs Amy Pascal and Steven Mosko.

According to The Wrap, "The Microsoft Outlook mailboxes are massive in size, each coming in at multiple gigabytes and purportedly containing thousands of email exchanges, both business-related and personal, as well as contact information for executives at other companies." Links to the sites where the mailboxes were made available were posted in a message claiming to again be from the Guardians of Peace.

amy pascal steven moskoWednesday, December 10:

After people went through the two execs' email inboxes, a few bombshells were revealed:

  1. Amy Pascal and mega-producer Scott Rudin got into an explosive email exchange that resulted in the studio losing the Steve Jobs movie to Universal.
  2. Scott Rudin bashed Angelina Jolie as a "spoiled brat" with "a rampaging spoiled ego."
  3. He also called producer Megan Ellison "a bipolar 28-year-old lunatic" and implied that she needed to take her "meds" to get the production off the ground.
  4. David Fincher lied to Amy Pascal about dropping out of the "Jobs" project.
  5. After Sony's 'Community' was canceled, star Joel McHale asked for a discount on a Sony TV.
  6. Sony may do a "22 Jump Street" and "Men In Black" crossover movie, a "Captain America" and "Spider-Man" crossover, as well as an animated "Spider-Man" from "The LEGO Movie" creators.

This CEO's Mom Told Him Not To Give Up — And He Just Sold His Company To Amazon

alex garfield goodgame

Twitch, the Amazon-owned service for watching real-time video game streams, has bought GoodGame, a company that manages talented gamers and teams.

GoodGame already worked with Twitch, so this won't change its business much, wrote CEO Alex Garfield. So it's sort of like the NFL buying one of the top agencies representing football players, or a Hollywood studio buying a top talent agency.

But the deal almost didn't happen. That's because Garfield almost gave up when a team of five players he was managing got drafted in the first-ever draft of professional gamers in 2007. He writes:

I wanted to help out a group of friends that I liked and respected - that’s what I was doing back in ‘04. That’s why, when my Counter-Strike team was drafted into the Championship Gaming Series in the summer of ‘07, my initial reaction was that it was time to move on. I didn’t really see a point in continuing if my players didn’t need my help anymore. I stayed, obviously - thanks in large part to my mom, who insisted that I’d built something valuable that would outlive the loss of five players. I still remember her lecturing me in the kitchen of her house (thanks, mom). Apparently, she was right.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Garfield wrote, "There’s no doubt that being bought by Twitch means all of our employees will be taken care of very well. "

Amazon bought Twitch in August for $970 million, reportedly outbidding Google, who was also interested in the service. Although not widely known outside video gaming circles, Twitch accounted for 40% of all Internet live-streaming traffic, and 2% of all Internet traffic total, when Amazon bought it.

So online video gaming as a spectator sport could become a huge business, and it looks like Amazon is trying to lock it up.

Disney Tried To Get Spider-Man In 'Captain America 3'

amazing spider man

The Sony hackers released a fourth round of leaked files online earlier this week.

Included in the latest leak were private emails of Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal. According to the Wall Street Journal, among the emails is an exchange between Sony and Marvel over the use of Spider-Man in Disney's upcoming "Captain America 3" due in theaters May 6, 2016.

WSJ reports Pascal told a business partner in an email that Marvel wanted to include Spidey in "Captain America: Civil War."

Disney CEO Bob Iger was reportedly involved in the discussion, as well.

Comic fans know Spider-Man is a big part of the Civil War storyline in which a government law requires superheroes to reveal their identities. As expected, the law creates a huge divide between superheroes, with Tony Stark/Iron Man going head-to-head with Steve Rogers/Captain America.

Spider-Man finds himself caught in the middle of the duo.

Though it won’t be impossible, it will be a challenge for Disney to make the film without the popular Marvel character.

The move would have been huge for fans and both studios, especially Sony which is having a tough time re-igniting life into its Spider-Man franchise.

So far, its reboot of the series with Andrew Garfield has not performed as well as its original three films with Tobey Maguire.

MovieYearOpening WeekendWorldwide Box OfficeEstimated Budget
"Spider-Man"2002$114.8 million$821.7 million$139 million
"Spider-Man 2"2004$88.1 million$783.7 million$200 million
"Spider-Man 3"2007$151 million$890.9 million$258 million
"The Amazing Spider-Man"2012$62 million$757.9 million$230 million
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2"2014$91.6 million$709 million$200 million

According to the WSJ, another email dated Oct. 30 from Sony Pictures president Doug Belgrad to Pascal discussed a "potential scenario that would see Marvel produce a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies." Sony would have creative control along with marketing and distribution rights.

The emails confirm rumors from earlier this fall in which Hitfix's Drew McWeeny reported Sony was in talks with Marvel to help “refocus” the Spidey franchise onscreen.

Sharing the Spidey character may be a smart move for the studio which announced it was pushing back "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" to 2018 to focus on expanding the Spidey universe in spin-off movies that included a Sinister Six film and a rumored one on Peter Parker's Aunt May

According to leaked Sony emails acquired by Gawker, some employees believe Disney has a better handle on Spider-Man than the studio.

Disney, which purchased Marvel in 2009 for $4 billion, retains the merchandise licensing rights to the web crawler. According to a report from the Licensing Letter acquired by The Hollywood Reporter, Spider-Man merchandise accounted for $1.3 billion in global retail sales for 2013.

Reuters reports the Sony hack could wind up costing the studio upwards of $100 million.

It may not be a bad time to reconsider sharing Spidey with the Mouse.

David Fincher Had A Hilarious Response To An Angry Email From A Sony Exec

david fincher amy pascalGawker published a bunch of Sony’s leaked emails late Tuesday

Among them is a brief, hilarious exchange between “Gone Girl” Director David Fincher and Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal over a subscription email from TheWrap, a Hollywood trade publication.

Pascal forwarded an email with headlines about “Girls” actor Adam Driver, who is cast in “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” and another about Fincher reportedly being out of the Steve Jobs movie that was originally supposed to film under Sony Pictures. The body of the email contained a simple “WTF.”

Fincher’s response is golden:

“Adam Driver is a terrible idea, I’m with you …”

Pascal wasn’t amused, replying in all caps, “I MEANT THE ONE ABOUT US BUTTING HEADS AND YOU NOT DIRECTING JOBS.”

Fincher kept on the defense, calling the news “bulls—.”

The report ended up being true.

Danny Boyle is now set to direct the Steve Jobs movie for Universal Pictures. Michael Fassbender ("12 Years A Slave," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") will star.

CBS EXEC: Here's What People Are Watching On Netflix (NFLX)

Netflix Orange is the new Black

Netflix has more than 36 million paying customers in the US, but the viewing habits of its users have always been a mystery.

While Netflix has seen success with its original series like "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black," people have been curious to learn the breakdown of how much time customers spend on Netflix and which programs they're watching.

Because Netflix has been silent, CBS chief research officer David Poltrack has revealed his research on Netflix viewer habits, according to Bloomberg, and Poltrack says Netflix isn't any better at creating shows than traditional networks like CBS.

Here are some highlights:

  • Netflix customers spend less than 10% of their viewing time watching Netflix original series like "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black"
  • The average adult Netflix viewer watches 5.2 hours of Netflix per week
  • Three of those 5.2 hours are spent viewing television programs, and only 6.6% of that time is spent watching Netflix original series

While Poltrack pointed out that Netflix's success with "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black" was vital for attracting new subscribers, he also said it had been "more than a year since Netflix introduced a true new hit program," according to KETV.

"They do not appear to have any magic formula for success in that game," Poltrack said, arguing that Netflix had a success rate "below that of the pay cable networks as well as the broadcast networks."

Of course, Netflix is in the midst of preparing to launch new series including the $90 million "Marco Polo" later this week, in addition to "Bloodline," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and "Daredevil."

How 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Got Back To Work And Became A Reality TV Star

$

Steve Austin on Redneck Island

It was 2004, and Steve Austin needed to make a change.

Following the final match of his illustrious professional wrestling career in March 2003, Austin began spending lots of his time at home in Texas, drinking heavily and re-watching footage of the 1997 wrestling accident that ultimately forced him to retire.

Worst of all, he wasn't working.

As a 39-year-old retiree, Austin was living a life that contradicted the very essence of both the on-screen "Stone Cold" persona that made him famous and his own real-life self-perception.

Off-screen, he came from a middle-class family in Edna, Texas, and drove a forklift to make ends meet when he entered the wrestling business in 1989.

When he rose to stardom in the World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment) in the late 90s, he did so portraying a working-class character who became popular for drinking beer out of a can and beating up his boss, the real-life WWE owner Vince McMahon.

"I've worked my ass off my whole life," Austin, now 49, explains in a phone interview with Business Insider from the Broken Skull Ranch, the 2,000-acre south Texas property that serves as his part-time home. "That's just how I was raised. If you're able-bodied and able-minded, you should work."

And so, Austin had what he calls a "come to Jesus" conversation with himself, deciding to move to Los Angeles and get back to work in show business.

It took about a decade, but today, he has reinvented himself as a reality television and podcast host, a man who has taken on a special place in the wrestling world that made him famous while simultaneously forging a new path for himself on his own.

"It was almost like a maturation process," he says. "I said, 'Hey man, it's time to put your suspenders back on, get your ass out to L.A., and get to work.' And that's what I did."

Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 18 in 2002

Austin started out in acting, playing a small part in the 2005 Adam Sandler movie, "The Longest Yard," and being a featured member of the ensemble cast of the 2010 action movie "The Expendables" alongside the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, and Mickey Rourke.

But while he has since acted in a handful of straight-to-DVD movies, Austin didn't find his second love, reality television, until 2011. That's when he was tapped to be the host of "Tough Enough," a show in which contestants compete for a WWE contract.

Austin enjoyed having the opportunity to be himself without having to memorize a bunch of lines, a part of the acting process he never enjoyed.

His performance caught the eye of Country Music Television, which asked him to be the host of "Redneck Island," a country-fried version of "Survivor" with competitors from the American South. Austin agreed, and the show's fourth season premiered December 4.

But perhaps what Austin is most proud of is his second CMT reality show, "Broken Skull Challenge," the result of a promise the network made to him that if he hosted "Redneck Island," it would listen to a proposal for a show he himself had dreamed up.

Austin describes "Broken Skull Challenge" as his baby, and it's easy to see it as a reflection of his no-frills personality.

Simple by design, the show is like an outdoors version of "American Gladiators," where muscular men and women battle it out in tests of strength and agility that take place inside moats, dirt courses, and sand pits. Austin offers the contestants encouragement and calls the action.

"I just enjoy seeing competition on TV, and I figured there was a space out there for a show like this that is very organic, very down and dirty," Austin says. "There's no fancy equipment, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out if you haven't seen an episode before."

It's a different kind of pressure from the live broadcasts of pro wrestling, but Austin says he loves the fact that the entire CMT network and a crew of 80 people are all depending on him to deliver.

So far, it seems like he has. The show's second season debuts January 4, and already, Austin says he has been stopped in public by people who recognize him not as "Stone Cold," the six-time WWF Champion, but as Steve Austin, the host of "Broken Skull Challenge."

"Now it's happening all the time," Austin says. "I'll always be 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin to many people, but to be recognized for some things that I've done on my own is very flattering, and I'm very proud of that."

At the same time, he has kept one foot in the wrestling world through his podcast, which debuted in April 2013 and broadcasts twice weekly.

Currently ranked No. 1 in iTunes' sports and recreation category, "The Steve Austin Show" gives its host a chance to channel the creativity and spontaneity that went into his on-screen wrestling interviews as he schmoozes with other wrestling personalities and opines on the state of the industry.

The show has turned him into an elder statesman of sorts, someone whose everyman appeal and legendary status allow him to serve as a liaison between the hardcore fan who calls into his podcast and the WWE management whose product the fans obsess over.

Recently, he conducted a surprisingly candid interview with McMahon, in which Austin drew praise for prodding the WWE owner on some of fans' most pressing questions.

As part of his preparation for the interview, Austin went back and watched footage of his on-screen rivalry with McMahon from the late 90s. Doing so dug up a wellspring of old memories that made him miss the adrenaline rush of performing live on television every Monday night.

Ultimately, though, the nostalgia was fleeting.

"At the end of the day, I think we all aspire to be successful at what we choose do to do. I was successful in pro wrestling, I've been successful in reality television, and I've been successful with podcasting," he says. "And I'm not bragging, but I've done that. So yes, I can honestly say I am as fulfilled now as I was when I was in wrestling."

marvel's agents of s.h.i.e.l.d. shield

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jed Whedon confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that there will be a tie-in to Avengers: Age of Ultron at some point during Season 2.

This doesn't come as a huge surprise, since Season 1 featured several connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including two appearances by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and tie-ins to Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Here's what Jed Whedon had to say in a statement.

"You should expect something. The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we're included in that."

No specific details were given for how the show would cross over with Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, it won't have nearly as big an impact as Captain America: The Winter Soldier had on the show, where the agency S.H.I.E.L.D. was decimated from the inside by Hydra, forcing Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team to work underground. Here's what executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen had to say.

"I don't think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did, but there will be connections."

Since Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015, it seems likely that the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover would happen on or near the Season 2 finale. How do you think the show and the movie sequel will cross over? Chime in with your thoughts below.

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes to theaters May 1st, 2015 and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

On Tuesday, the Sony hackers released emails of Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal and Sony Pictures Television president Steve Mosko

The fourth round of leaks came as the hackers, known as the Guardians of Peace (GOP), demanded the studio pull upcoming movie "The Interview" starring James Franco and Seth Rogen.

Looking over Mosko's emails, we saw an interesting exchange related to Sony's "Community" series which aired on NBC.

The show was originally canceled May 9 after five seasons on air.

Three days later, the show's star, Joel McHale, sent an email to Mosko's assistant asking for a discount on an $8,000 Sony TV.

The email reads:

Hello Fayanne,

It's Joel McHale. You might remember me from such canceled Sony tv shows as—Community.

Sad.

Very sad.

So when I was talking to Steve about the show ending last Friday, I asked about a discount on a Sony tv. He said of course. He's the greatest as you know. I didn't want to bother him with the specific details of the screen I want so I thought I would bother you. I hope that is it [sic] cool.

It's below. You can check with Steve obviously if this all sounds strange.

I'm not sure how this all works but I'm happy to send a credit card number wherever necessary.

Thanks Fayanne. I'm very much going to miss working at Sony.

Cheers

Joel

The TV McHale asked for is a 65" X950B 4K Ultra HD which retails for $7999.99.

After receiving McHale's email, Mosko requested the television to be purchased for the actor:

"how much is it?    just get it...put it against community    deal w money later"

The television ended up being on sale at the time for $6,000.

You can read the full email exchange below starting at the bottom:

Here's How The CEO Of Sony Tweaked 'The Interview' After North Korea Threatened War

Kim Jong Un

Sony's film studio, Sony Pictures, was hit by a massive hack that resulted in the leaking online of a huge trove of documents from the company.

Re/code reports that one of the files posted online was the email archive of Amy Pascal, the company's co-chairman. Her inbox contained emails sent by Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai in which he instructs Sony Pictures staff to make an important change to the ending of coming comedy "The Interview."

North Korea has spoken out against "The Interview," calling it "an act of terrorism and war." The movie's plot features James Franco and Seth Rogen as journalists who are recruited to kill Kim Jong-un.

North Korea treats its leader as a god, so a movie that revolves around a plot to kill him is going to be hugely controversial. There has even been speculation that Sony Pictures was hacked by a gang of computer experts working within the North Korean government.

It seems Sony's CEO was aware of the outrage that "The Interview" would go on to cause. In emails sent to executives, he requests changes to one of the movie's final scenes.

Obviously, what follows contains major spoilers for the ending of the movie:

I’ve given this a lot of thought and would like to go ahead with a variation of version 337 ... It would be much appreciated if you could push them a bit further as you mentioned in your e-mail. Also, please ensure that this does not make it into the international version of the release.

"The Interview" ends with a scene that sees Kim Jong-un's head explode as he is caught in crossfire between a helicopter and a tank. In the initial cut of the movie, that scene was pretty gory.

Here's part of the email that Rogen sent to Pascal:

We will make it less gory. There are currently four burn marks on his face. We will take out three of them, leaving only one. We reduce the flaming hair by 50% … The head explosion can’t be more obscured than it is because we honestly feel that if it’s any more obscured you won’t be able to tell its exploding and the joke won’t work. Do you think this will help? Is it enough?

In other emails, Rogen assures the executive that changes are being made, saying, "We will play with the color of the head chunks to try to make them less gross."

Rogen sent Pascal a copy of the edited footage but did not receive a reply. He sent her an email that read, "Is no news good news?"

Pascal eventually replied to the draft footage, saying: "Let’s talk in the am. I need one night without dreaming about head explosions. But I am damn happy."

Here's the final email sent by Rogen after the sequence was approved:

This is it!!! We removed the fire from the hair and the entire secondary wave of head chunks. Please tell us this is over now. Thanks so much!!

Two Sony Execs' Entire Email Boxes Got Leaked By Hackers And Now All Hell Is Breaking Loose

amy pascal steven mosko

Late Tuesday, Sony president Steven Mosko and co-chairman Amy Pascal's entire email inboxes were leaked online in the latest cyber attack against the studio.

Links to the sites where the mailboxes were made available were posted in a message claiming to again be from the mysterious "Guardians of Peace" (GOP) group, who have also taken credit for the previous attacks over the past two weeks.

According to The Wrap, "The Microsoft Outlook mailboxes are massive in size, each coming in at multiple gigabytes and purportedly containing thousands of email exchanges, both business-related and personal, as well as contact information for executives at other companies."

Since the mailboxes were released, people have been sifting through them to find dirt on Sony's business dealings and trade secrets.

With new emails being made public, a few bombshells have been revealed:

1. The email addresses and contact info for every A-lister in front of and behind the camera who has ever worked with Sony are now public.

Everyone from "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan to actor/comedian Joel McHale may want to change their email addresses.

Joel McHale, NBC Community

2. Sony lost the Steve Jobs movie to Universal after an explosive back-and-forth email chain with mega-producer Scott Rudin, who apparently brought "Jobs" to the studio.

Pascal begged Rudin to let Sony have another chance with the film, but it was too late.

Rudin wrote to her in emails obtained by Gawker: "You've behaved abominably and it will be a very, very long time before I forget what you did to this movie and what you've put all of us through. ... You've destroyed your relationships with half the town over how you've behaved on this movie. If you don't think it's true, wait and see."

Pascal replied, simply, "Get rid of him," forwarding Rudin's strongly-worded emails to a colleague.

amy pascal scott rudin

3. The whole "Jobs" saga started with a fight over Angelina Jolie, who wanted David Fincher to direct her version of "Cleopatra" at Sony, but instead the studio put the "Social Network" director on the Steve Jobs movie. Scott Rudin ends up calling Angelina Jolie a "spoiled brat" with "a rampaging spoiled ego."

Rudin and Pascal started fighting back in February over Angelina Jolie, who objected to David Fincher directing "Jobs" instead of her version of "Cleopatra." In the leaked emails, Rudin gets upset with Pascal for not telling Jolie that Fincher won't have time to direct the actress' movie.

"You're involving yourself in this massive and pointless drama that is beneath you. You are entitled to say no," Rudin emailed Pascal.

After months more of back-and-forth emails, Rudin tells Pascal to "Shut it down," "it" presumably being Jolie. It's a request he repeated again later on in the email chain: "YOU BETTER SHUT ANGIE DOWN BEFORE SHE MAKES IT VERY HARD FOR DAVID TO DO JOBS."

Rudin goes on to blast Jolie (via Gawker):

I'm not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie. I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and that we don't. She's a camp event and a celebrity and that's all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming. We will end up being the laughing stock of our industry and we will deserve it, which is so clearly where this is headed that I cannot believe we are still wasting our time with it.

Essentially, these leaked emails are going to make it hard for Rudin or Sony to ever work with Jolie again, considering she now knows what the two think of her.

angelina jolie david fincher4. Amy Pascal found out that David Fincher ditched "Jobs" through a public industry email newsletter.

Pascal forwarded an email with headlines about "Girls" actor Adam Driver, who is cast in "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens," and another about Fincher reportedly being out of the Steve Jobs movie that was originally supposed to film under Sony Pictures. The body of the email contained a simple "WTF."

5. Disney tried to get Spider-Man in "Captain America 3."

6. After Sony's "Community" was canceled, star Joel McHale asked for a discount on a Sony TV.

McHale sent an email to Steven Mosko's assistant asking for a discount on an $8,000 Sony TV. The email reads:

Hello Fayanne,

Thanks Fayanne. I'm very much going to miss working at Sony.

Joel McHale7. Leonardo DiCaprio was up for a role in 1997's "Boogie Nights."

While trying to convince DiCaprio to consider the role of Steve Jobs, powerhouse agent Robert Newman wrote to the actor:

I remember speaking with you years ago about 'boogie nights', and all you could have done with that wonderful part, and I truly believe this is an opportunity we will look back on with regret if we don't make happen.

leonardo dicaprio oscarAnd these are just the newest leaks coming out of two email inboxes... so far.

Previously, Sony employees' private info was made public in an initial cyber attack against the studio, including salaries, addresses, and Social Security Numbers.

Additionally, five unreleased Sony films were made available online— excluding "The Interview," which is thought to be the reason for the hacks in the first place.

The Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy is about two journalists recruited by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

North Korea previously denounced the film, but has denied any involvement in the recent hacks, despite saying they're glad it happened.

The second trailer for George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" just debuted online, and it's a doozy.

The sequel, starring Tom Hardy as the titular anti-hero alongside Charlize Theron, will continue the story of the original 1979 film. George Miller, who wrote and directed all three previous "Mad Max" films, returns to the director's chair.

The only fanfare the film has received previously came at Comic-Con, but even non-movie buffs and those unfamiliar with the franchise are sure to be impressed with the practical stuntwork on display here.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" is in theaters May 15, 2015.

The trailer is an epic symphony of gorgeous visuals and jaw-dropping stunts that truly has to be seen to be believed.

megan ellison

Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison's 28-year-old daughter, movie producer Megan Ellison, is just one of the new names being thrown into the Sony hacking scandal.

In megaproducer Scott Rudin's explosive emails to Sony Co-Chairman Amy Pascal, which leaked late Tuesday, Rudin had some harsh words for the young, Oscar-nominated producer who had wanted to finance the Steve Jobs movie when it was at Sony.

Ellison's father, Larry Ellison, was real-life best friends with Steve Jobs.

In the leaked emails to Pascal, Rudin calls Ellison "a bipolar 28-year-old lunatic" and implied that she needed to take her "meds" to get the production off the ground.

Defamer published the full nugget about Ellison, which she tweeted with a witty response to her nearly 76,000 followers:

Well played, Megan.
