Rebecca Black Mexican Election

Fourteen-year-old YouTube "star" Rebecca Black has thrown her support behind the frontrunner in Mexico's presidential election, Enrique Peña Nieto of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI).

In a video posted online this week, Black, accompanied by her Spanish-speaking mother, showed up in Morelos, Mexico, and publicly endorsed Peña Nieto, the current frontrunner in the Mexican race for president.

Speaking  through a translator, Black explains that even though she may just be 14, it's important for youth to understand the issues so they are prepared when they reach voting age. "Peña Nieto is going to do a fantastic job," she said.

Critics observe that Black's uncle is city council member in Morelos, and a member of the PRI. In Spanish, entertainment reporter Astrid Capon called it "a joke in bad taste from the PRI" and "almost offensive."
