Sunday night, ABC's "GCB" premiere drew 7.6 million viewers—a mediocre rating for the soap-like comedy in the vein of "Desperate Housewives."
The show is based on the Kim Gatlin book "Good Christian Bitches" but the show title was shortened after the network deemed it too controversial.
"GCB" follows Amanda Vaughn, played by Leslie Bibb, after her perfect life in Southern California falls apart and she is forced to return home to Dallas.
Vaugh, a reformed mean girl, is greeted by a chilly reception from the new queen bee, played by Kristin Chenoweth, and the rest of her former classmates.
