It's hard to believe, but "The Colbert Report" has already been on the air for 1000 shows.
Last night, Stephen Colbert announced his show's landmark episode via Twitter.
Since the parody news show began on Comedy Central in 2005, it's been filled with one gag after another from zany "Word of the Day" segments to friendly rival competitions with "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart.
We've compiled ten funny memorable moments from over the years. Honorable mentions include Colbert breaking down terrorism for children and mulling over Facebook's ability to tag brands in photos.

August 2005: Stephen Colbert Has A Dance Battle with Rain
Stephen Colbert singing Rebecca Black's "Friday." The entire Stephen Colbert / Jimmy Fallon saga is epic, so it was hard to pick just one. Their odd TV bromance rivals that of Ben Affleck and other late night host, Jimmy Kimmel.
Colbert has had great segments of "The Word" in which he breaks down the definition of a select lexeme for viewers. Remember the 1%? One of our our all-time favorites includes "truthiness."
