Hurricane Sandy rolled in on Monday and left NYC and its surrounding areas a disaster.
The New York Times captured the storm and its aftermath from the top of its high-rise headquarters on 51st street; Matt Ericson and Jon Huang created a time-lapse video with the footage that spans nearly three days.
The camera started rolling on Sunday at 3:00 PM and stopped Wednesday at 1:00 PM.
You can see the lights in lower Manhattan shut off at the 1:54 minute mark (about 8:40 PM on Monday evening). Power still hasn't returned to much of the city.
