Southwest Airline's singing flight attendants don't have anything Air New Zealand.
In honor of December's release of Peter Jackson's first installment of the Hobbit series, shot in New Zealand, the airline teamed up with Weta Workshop to create a Middle Earth-themed safety video.
The four-minute spot has an exceptionally impressive production value and even has cameos from Peter Jackson and Gollum.
New Zealand's air travel business sure has embraced the franchise. Willington International Airport has erected a disconcerting 43-foot sculpture of Gollum suspended from the ceiling.
But America's getting in on the action, too. Earlier this month, Denny's announced a Hobbit-themed menu that features items ranging from "Gandalf's Gobble Melt" to a "Shire Sausage" stuffed "Build Your Own Hobbit Slam."
