Even more shocking than the news that Disney is buying LucasFilm for $4 billion, is that a new Star Wars movie is coming in 2015.
Disney and Lucasfilm said the film will be called Episode VII, meaning it'll be a sequel to 1983's Return of the Jedi.
StarWars.com just posted a video interview with George Lucas and Lucasfilm's new boss Kathleen Kennedy about what's in store for the next Star Wars movies.
In the interview, Lucas says he already has treatments for the next three Star Wars movies, and has handed them over to Kennedy and her team to begin writing. Kennedy says she is already sitting down with writers to hammer out the plot.
In short, Lucas is retiring and won't have much say in what happens in the next three movies. Kennedy is now in charge. (That's a good thing for Star Wars fans as Lucas is largely blamed for the nearly unwatchable prequel trilogy.)
