Comedian and roaster Jeff Ross showed up to the taping of Comedy Central's Roseanne Barr roast dressed as the late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, with two young men wearing nothing but football helmets and towels by his side.
And that wasn't the most offensive thing he did.
During the roast, Ross turned to actor Seth Green and said, "Congratulations. This is actually a great night for you. You haven’t gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora," referring to his red hair similar to James Holmes.
Ross continued, "I'm kidding. You are not like James Holmes. At least he did something in a movie theater that people remember!”
Hoping to avoid any controversy, a Comedy Central spokesperson announced that the joke will not appear in the broadcast next week.
The roast airs on Comedy Central August 12.
