Ipartment, a hit Chinese sitcom now in its third season, deals with the lives of a mixed-sex group of friends in their late 20s who live in two neighboring apartments in Shanghai.
Does it sound familiar? Perhaps it should.
According to Tom Phillips of the Telegraph, the show has recently come under fire for scenes that are virtually identical to American sitcoms such as How I Met Your Mother, Friends and the Big Bang Theory. That allegations may hold weight — Chinese state newspaper Global Times reports the paper has already admitted stealing jokes from one Chinese comic.
