Whether it is babysitting, sex, meeting his new girlfriend's family, or just posting an Instagram, Dev just can't seem to get it right on his new Netflix series, "Master of None."

In addition to writing and directing the series, Ansari stars as Dev. Loosely based on Ansari's life, Dev is a 30-year-old actor in New York. He has to go to cattle call open auditions and knows he won't get the lead because he's Indian.

Eric Wareheim, Noël Wells and Lena Waithe also star. Ansari's father, Shoukath, plays his on-screen father, too.

"Master of None" premieres on Friday, November 6 with 10 episodes on Netflix.

Ryan Murphy and company run a tight ship on the set of "Scream Queens." That includes not letting their cast know who the serial killer is.

“None of us know how the show ends," Emma Roberts told Teen Vogue.

Roberts plays Chanel, the president of a sorority that has been targeted by a serial killer dressed as the school's mascot, a red devil.

scream queen red devil"We don’t know who the killer is; we don’t even know who’s going to live and who’s going to die. Apparently only four people will go on to Season 2,” she explained.

“It’s fun. I think everyone secretly thinks they’re the killer, so they are kind of playing it like that,” the 24-year-old added.

Despite the show's low live ratings, Fox has been focusing on the show's promising seven-day delayed numbers. It has increased by 80% in delayed viewership.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy told THR that he was already planning the second season in a recent cover interview. In that interview, Ryan revealed to the public that only four people would move on to the next season. They will play the same characters, but in a new venue. The second season will focus on a crew of people from different age groups.

Here's how much bankrupt 50 Cent is paying one of the big law firms working for him

50 cent

Rapper Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, has already racked up tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees since filing for Chapter 11 protection in July to reorganize his mounting debts.

Three different law firms are tied to Jackson's bankruptcy, according to the electronic docket for the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut.

One of those firms, Robins Kaplan, filed its first fee statement this week — giving a glimpse into how much money the rapper with the notoriously lavish lifestyle spends on his lawyers.

Jackson incurred roughly $85,000 in fees and $5,000 in expenses from this one firm between July 13 and September 30, thought the firm is only requesting 80% of the fees at this time.

It's not clear if the firm will request the rest of those fees in the future.

The rapper incurred more than $17,000 because of his ongoing legal dispute with a woman whose sex tape he posted online and about $15,000 for legal representation involving his "trademark maintenance."

Eighteen lawyers worked on Jackson's behalf, as did three paralegals and an investigator. Eight partners worked for Jackson, seven of whom had billing rates of $675 an hour.

To be fair, this rate is actually on the low side compared to some big corporate law firms, which can charge more than $1,000 for an hour of a partner's time, the blog Above the Law noted last year.

Even though they're not necessarily exorbitant, these fees could add up as the bankruptcy drags on — especially considering the fact that Jackson is involved in multiple legal disputes on top of his Chapter 11 case.

Jeff Daniels explains why 'Steve Jobs' was harder to act in than 'The Martian'

$

Jeff Daniels Gareth Cattermole Getty

Actor Jeff Daniels can currently be seen in two very different movies at your multiplex, "Steve Jobs" and "The Martian." And the Emmy winner admits one was far more difficult to act in.

"Sculley was tougher to play," Daniels told Business Insider over the phone on Wednesday, referring to his character in "Steve Jobs," former Apple CEO John Sculley.

In "Steve Jobs" Daniels portrays Sculley as one of the Apple co-founder's closest confidants at the company until, in Jobs' eyes, Sculley betrays him and sides with the board in stripping Jobs of his managerial duties over the Macintosh, which led to Jobs resigning. The two never reconciled.

Over in "The Martian," Daniels plays Teddy Sanders, the tough NASA director who is determined to get his astronaut (Matt Damon) back home.

"Teddy had some decisions to make, and I think that's one of the strengths in 'The Martian,' you see these people having to think through problems in front of the camera, but that was pretty much the extent that was needed for Teddy," said Daniels. "Sculley you had to go down some darker hallways."

Daniels said to play Sculley he read through Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs, and watched interviews of him on YouTube. He said Sculley also came to rehearsal one afternoon. But Daniels didn't want to delve too deep into the man's life.

steve jobs"You can still see the pain in John [over what happened between he and Jobs] so we were able to slide that into the movie," said Daniels. "But you take what you need for the movie and I didn't need to know how he's been the last 15 years. The movie ends in '98, I just needed to know the breakup. I told him, 'I think I can portray the beginnings of what you've gone through.'"

But there's another reason why Sculley was harder to play than Sanders — the film's screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.

Daniels played the lead character, news anchor Will McAvoy, in Sorkin's recently wrapped TV series "The Newsroom" over its three-season run, and knows his material is not easy to pull off.

"Doing 'The Newsroom' actors would come through and say, 'I don't know how you guys do this, I could never do it,'" said Daniels of the heavy use of dialogue Sorkin is famous for. "You're given these incredibly long scenes, no rehearsal, and we get there at 6:30 in the morning and you've got to know it and know what you're going to do with it because by 7:30 you're shooting."

Making "Steve Jobs," Daniels said he couldn't help but laugh when he first met Michael Fassbender, who plays the title character in "Steve Jobs."

"He is the Will McAvoy of this movie," said Daniels. "But I told him, 'I'm living proof that you can survive this.'"

"Steve Jobs" and "The Martian" are currently playing in theaters.

The Drake dancing video that's taking over the internet wasn't even choreographed or rehearsed

drake hotline bling video

Drake released the video for his new song "Hotline Bling" Monday, and the internet had a field day. From gifs to Vines, the video is getting shared all over the place, and in every way possible.

In the video, Drake performs different dance styles that go along with the song's beat — the perfect scenario for the internet to make hilarious material.

Toward the end of the video, Drake is seen dancing with legendary choreographer Tanisha Scott

Scott is  a big name in the music industry who has worked with Rihanna, Beyonce, and others on viral music videos. Despite the virality and generally good reception of the "Hotline Bling" video, Scott told Complex that none of it was choreographed — she was just a "Coach" and Drake was dancing on his own.

"Nothing was rehearsed, nothing was choreographed, it was just him doing his thing," said Scott. "Nobody was going to expect him to dance, and we were like, 'This entire video has to just be you.'"

She added, "And all those memes and mashups — he knew that was going to happen."

The video style was a brilliant marketing move. Drake is already having the year of his life, and was in position to strike again. His joint mixtape with rapper Future and "Hotline Bling" was already surging up the charts.

People debated whether or not Drake was a good dancer in the video — but that was the whole point. Scott and Drake knew the internet would take the music video and make it their own. They knew people would make fun of Drake's dancing and come up with super creative gifs. In the end, the whole goal of marketing is to get people to talk about your product.

Drake has gone viral before. The cover of his 2013 album "Nothing Was The Same" was perfect meme material, and earlier this year, a company released a viral app that allowed its users to text solely in Drake lyrics.

The "Hotline Bling" video set him up with the perfect opportunity to take over the internet once again — but this time, he had a goal to accomplish. Last week Drake posted on Instagram about how much it would mean to him if "Hotline Bling" went No.1 on the Billboard charts.

Drake"I spend my life trying to make waves for the city I am from. No accolades really matter to me other than the fact that I have never had a billboard number one," he said. "If I get my first number one during the month of October it will be the biggest moment of my career to date."

Last week the song charted at No. 2 behind The Weeknd's "The Hills." Drake strategically released the Hotline Bling video on Apple Music Monday, so it's popularity would count towards next weeks charts.

Billboard Senior Editor Alex Gale thinks the video will help move it up:

Apple Music streams aren't specifically tallied into Billboard's formula, but "Hotline Bling" being the talk of the internet should definitely give it a big push.

When Billboard releases their newest Hot 1oo ranking next Monday, we'll find out if Drake and crew's effort was worth it. Until then, enjoy the gifs.

It’s an amazing way to check if your brilliant costume idea has already been thought of by a million other people in the country — who may or may not be at the same Halloween party as you.

A hint from Google: everyone is going to dress as Batman nemesis Harley Quinn.

One of the most interesting features on Google Frightgeist is the difference in what’s trending in different cities. Washington D.C. favors Batman, while San Francisco loves Star Wars in general, and Presque Isle, Maine, is obsessed with clowns.

Paramount is conducting an experiment with a new movie that could lose it $10 million opening weekend

paranormal activity 6

If you don't live in a major market, chances are you won't have the opportunity to watch "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" in a movie theater.

For the first time in franchise history, the sixth entry in the wildly profitable horror franchise will not receive a wide release.

Despite the fact that the most recent entry in the franchise opened wide in nearly 3,000 theaters and grossed $18.3 million in January 2014 , Paramount will be releasing "Ghost Dimension" in only 1,350 theaters nationwide.

The studio has partnered with major theater chains AMC and Cineplex on a deal that will allow the movie to make its home entertainment debut in just 17 days.

In exchange, Deadline reports that these theater chains will receive a 2%-4% share of "digital revenue made between the time the film drops below 300 engagements and 90 days after its opening date."

Other major theater chains like Regal, Cinemark and Carmike are refusing to play the movie as a result, which explains its limited release.

paranormal 6Although Paramount is likely leaving a lot of money on the table (tracking suggests if the film opened in the expected 2,500+ theaters it would net $20 million opening weekend), they're just trying to adapt to modern times.

In an interview with Variety, Paramount's vice-chairman Rob Moore elaborated on the strategy: “We are making an investment in getting information. This is about the longer term health of how we distribute movies. The consumer is changing and we have to change as well.”

By allowing the film to be released on video-on-demand (VOD) platforms within 17 days of its initial release, Paramount won't need to mount a second advertising push 3 months later. They can bank on the ad campaign and awareness drummed up by the initial push.

The experiment comes not too long after Paramount's "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" failed to cash in theatrically. Deadline reports that MGM owned the distribution rights and rushed the film out to VOD, where it then tripled its initial box office haul.

paranormal activityThe smaller-scale release means a much smaller advertising push, which also saves Paramount some cash.

Considering the "Paranormal Activity" films have always been low-budget & high-reward, it's a fairly low-risk experiment for the studio, who will likely already be in the black by the end of the week, even with this restricted release.

The film is expected to net somewhere between $10-12 million this weekend.

Watch the trailer below.

"Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" opens in limited release today and will be available via VOD platforms in 17 days.

There's a cheeky 'Netflix and chill' joke on the Netflix app (NFLX)

It seems like Microsoft is trying to get in on the "Netflix and chill" joke game.

A post on Imgur seems to show the Netflix app on Xbox bearing the slogan: “Watch movies and chill.” We see what you did there.

View post on imgur.com

If you still haven’t heard what it means, “Netflix and chill” is basically teenage slang for “hooking up.” If you are going over to someone’s house to "Netflix and chill," you might be doing just that, but you are certainly also going to get busy.

Netflix acknowledged the popular meme in July. The official Netflix Twitter account tweeted out the following GIF, though it wasn't exactly clear if Netflix was merely joining in the fun or annoyed at the onslaught of "Netflix and chill" jokes.

We have reached out to verify the veracity of the photo.

10-time Grammy award winner Adele just released her first single in over 3 years, 'Hello'

October 5, 2012. That's how long it's been since 10-time Grammy award winner Adele has released a song.

It's been even longer than that — February 22, 2011, since she's put out an album.

That all changed Friday when the British star released her new track and video "Hello" after formally announcing her album "25" earlier this week. Adele had been hinting at the potential of a new album for over a year, but chose to officially announce it with a letter on Twitter Thursday.

"I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened," she said in the letter. "I'm making up with myself ... making up for lost time. Turning 25 was a turning point for me."

She added: "My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record."

Adele had a son with longtime boyfriend Angelo in 2012 which surely took up a lot of her time. She had also been previously dealing with vocal cord issues affecting her singing — no doubt leading to her vacancy from the music scene.

When Adele was around, she was dominant. Her last album "21" was such success she set a record at the Grammy's in 2012 capturing an astounding six awards. With "21" Adele secured the greatest selling UK album of the millennium, according to The Guardian.

The album also had incredible success in US sales, selling over 11 million copies. It also charted five songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including smash hits "Set Fire to The Rain," "Rolling in the Deep," and "Someone Like You."

She originally caught fire in 2008 when she released "19" just months after graduating high school.

Adele is back, and it's some of the best news the music industry has gotten all year.

Check out the "Hello" in full below and look out for her album in November:

Legally Blonde reese witherspoon

It has been 12 years since "Legally Blonde 2" and Reese Witherspoon is ready to brush off her "bend and snap."

The Oscar-winner addressed the idea of a new installment of the movie franchise on Thursday's episode of Lifetime's "Fashionably Late With Rachel Zoe."

"A lot of writers over the years have come up with good ideas for it," Witherspoon, 39, said. "I actually think it's kind of great right now, because we're talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it would be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice, president, I mean…"

Both "Legally Blonde" and its sequel – which followed sorority girl Elle Woods (Witherspoon) as she proved she could be trendy and serious at the same time – were box office hits. They were followed by a successful musical and a third movie, "Legally Blondes," which Witherspoon didn't star in.

"I think we're ready to see Elle and she what she's up to lately," Witherspoon said. "That said, I don't know. Call [the movie studio] MGM."

When Michael Keaton accepted his best actor Golden Globe for "Birdman," he told the crowd his birth name was actually Michael Douglas.

He changed his name early in his career to avoid confusion with the actor and TV host Mike Douglas. He is believed to have chosen Keaton because of comedian Buster Keaton.

Tommy Chong was prison inmates with the real 'Wolf of Wall Street' and inspired him to write his book in their cell

Tommy Chong Jason Kempin Getty

Comic Tommy Chong has spent his career giving his opinion on everything from American politics during his heyday in the 1960s as one half of the famous comedy duo Cheech & Chong, to most recently being one of the main voices in the legalization of marijuana.

So it only makes sense that the 77-year-old funny man now has his own talk show.

Premiering on Friday, "Almost Legal with Tommy Chong" is touted as a mixture of Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast and the traditional late night talk show style of celebrity guests and occasional skits.

But Chong said what it will mainly have is his views on pretty much everything.

"You can get a lot on TV nowadays," Chong told Business Insider. "But what you can't get is my personal take on things, and I think there's an interest in what I have to say."

One sample of what you might get on the show is Chong's decades-worth of run-ins with famous (and infamous) people.

Like how he was a big inspiration behind the creation of the book "The Wolf of Wall Street."

Chong roomed with the book's author, Jordan Belfort, when Chong was serving nine months at Taft Correctional Institute in California for selling drug paraphernalia. (Belfort had just started a 22-month stint for fraud and money laundering).

jordan belfort"They put the celebrities together in prison," said Chong, "and when Jordan would be playing tennis or backgammon, I would be working on my book."

Chong said one day Belfort noticed what he was doing and told Chong that he also was interested in writing a book of his time as a stockbroker and trader. One day, Belfort was in their cell and had a page and a half written out. He passed it to Chong to get his opinion.

"I'm usually not a guy that critiques anything, but I just had an instinct that Jordan is a genius and with geniuses you push them harder than most," said Chong. "I noticed that he was copying Tom Wolfe and I pointed that out to him, I think he was a little pissed off at me that I critiqued him so hard."

But Chong gave the soon-to-be-author a piece of advice that would turn the book into a page-turner that would later grab the attention of Martin Scorsese to adapt it into a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort.

Wolf of Wall Street"I pointed out that people are only interested in the 'most of,' that's exactly the phrase I used," he explained. "I described it to him as, 'If you go downtown to go shopping and you go home, that's not exciting. But if you go downtown and there's a car accident and you save someone's life and it turns out to be someone famous, that's a 'most of.' So you have to tell the 'most of' and they have to be true.' He listened to what I said because he had the best "most of" stories I've ever heard in my life."

Belfort finished the book after he got out of prison, and though he only made a reported $330,000 on the book deal, the adaptation by Scorsese scored him more exposure the book ever would, as the film was nominated for five Academy Awards in 2014.

If Chong plans to dish out stories like this on his show, he's got something good in the making.

"Almost Legal with Tommy Chong" is available on FilmOn.com or FOTV on the Dish Network. New episodes air every Friday at 5PM PST/8 EST.

It's clear to some that Daniel Craig has grown a bit tired of doing promotion for the upcoming James Bond film, "Spectre." But he has an obligation to do and he's going through with it.

But once in a while, one can see why he could be over the press. In a video making its rounds on the internet, Craig sat with Sarah Powell, a reporter for UK's ITV show "This Morning."

During the interview, Powell asked if he'd model the pout he uses on-screen sometimes and in the "Spectre" posters.

"Do you know what I'm talking about?" Powell asked.

"Not really, no," Craig, 47, responded.

What's the audition process like?

Audition process is LONG. The first is a 'type out' where they look to see if you have similar features, second is usually a dance, then a 'read' to have you act as the character, and an interview.

What are the specific look requirements?

Tink has a specified height requirement, as do all the other princesses. Princesses are usually 5'4''-5'7'', Fairies and Alice or Wendy are all 4'11''-5'2''.

What's the average age range for "face characters"?

Most girls are between 18 and 23, and a few of the girls who have been there awhile are 25-27. Rarely is a girl over 27 who does princesses or fairies.

'Shark Tank' investor Daymond John explains how he reinvented himself in his 40s

Daymond John got a call from Mark Burnett at the perfect time in his career.

It was 2008 and John was 39 years old. He had established a career on the success of his clothing brand FUBU, which he started from nothing out of his mom's house in Hollis, Queens in 1992. Though the brand was bringing in over $300 million in revenue in the late '90s, its popularity faded in the early 2000s.

John acquired stakes in about 10 other clothing companies and served as a marketing adviser. When the Great Recession hit, he told Business Insider, only two or three were making him money. John needed a way to grow beyond the fashion industry.

Burnett, the executive producer behind the massively successful reality television shows "Survivor" and "The Apprentice," told John over the phone that he was creating an American spinoff of Sony's business reality series "Dragon's Den," which started in Japan and spread to the United Kingdom and Canada. It would be called "Shark Tank" and he wanted John to be one of the investors.

"I decided that absolutely, I wanted to do it," John said. It would not only provide a spotlight for John and his brands, but would give him an opportunity to diversify his portfolio. He was 40 when the show began the next year.

"What I am is a manufacturer and a producer and somebody that likes to brand products and companies," he said. "And I was only getting pitched clothing companies. If I was going to sell to one of the big amazing stores that I deal with, I don't want to only just sell and be in Aisle No. 1 with clothing, I want to be in Aisle No. 3 with soft drinks, I want to be there with electronics. I want to diversify my portfolio. So I took on this new journey to do a show called 'Shark Tank.'"

The show's first season was a moderate success for ABC, averaging about four million viewers for each new episode, but it was renewed for a second season and John was all in.

He built his show persona as the brand expert with a signature classy-yet-subtly flashy fashion sense, and used this as the fuel behind a new company intrinsically linked to the show: Shark Branding. This new company used John's heightened profile and increasingly diverse investments, direct results of the show, as a way to market himself to major global corporations.

Shark Branding has developed relationships with clients ranging from Home Shopping Network to Reebok CrossFit, from Jamba Juice to Shopify. John has used these relationships for the benefit of his "Shark Tank" investments, which then provides him with more ammunition for pitching himself to entrepreneurs who appear on the show.

"Shark Tank" is now in its seventh season. Last year was its strongest season yet, with an overall viewership of 9.137 million viewers, according to Deadline Hollywood.

John said his most profitable deals over the past seven seasons have been, relative to size, Bubba-Q's Boneless Ribs, Bomba's socks, and the TITIN training vest. He thinks he's going to help bring Bubba-Q's past $200 million in total sales soon. "Now I'm making more money than ever with boneless ribs!" he said.

mo's bowsFUBU will always have a special place in John's heart and will always be associated with his name. But he was able to, in his 40s, take a risk on a reality show in the depths of a recession and reinvent himself for the public.

His reputation and public presence has benefited so greatly that President Barack Obama appointed him as one of the White House's Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship, which makes him as a White House representative for entrepreneurship initiatives across the country and abroad.

John said his 40s have proven to him that his passion is spreading a love for entrepreneurship and growing businesses the right way. He's been most moved by stories of kids, like Mo's Bows' 13-year-old founder and CEO Moziah Bridges, who grow up idolizing entrepreneurs they same way some do musicians and athletes. He feels similarly fulfilled by helping small business owners avoid the same mistakes he already made in his career.

"That, I think, is more fulfilling than anything else when it comes to this amazing journey with 'Shark Tank,'" he said.

The Revenant

Just in case you needed more convincing that Leonardo DiCaprio's next movie is going to be unlike anything we've seen him do on screen before, the actor just clinched it.

"It's going to be one of the most unique film-going experiences that audiences have seen in modern times," DiCaprio boasted about "The Revenant" (out Christmas day) to Yahoo Movies recently.

A very bold statement, but let's look at the particulars: The story follows a frontiersman (DiCaprio) as he sets out to seek revenge on the people that left him for dead after a bear mauling.

It's directed by the director who gave us the stunning Oscar-nominated "Birdman" last year, Alejandro González Iñárritu.

So that tells us it's going to be unforgiving and a marvel to look at.

But it's what DiCaprio said later in the Yahoo Movies interview that tells you how all-in DiCaprio was for the role. When asked if he ever asked himself "What the hell have I gotten into?" while filming the actor answered:

"I can name 30 or 40 sequences that were some of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do. Whether it’s going in and out of frozen rivers, or sleeping in animal carcasses, or what I ate on set. [I was] enduring freezing cold and possible hypothermia constantly," said DiCaprio.

Yes, he slept inside a dead animal. And he went on to say that he also ate raw bison liver.

"When you see the movie, you’ll see my reaction to it, because Alejandro kept it in. It says it all," he said about eating the liver.

See the trailer below to watch how gruesomely real "The Revenant" will be.
