Top Viral Videos Of The Week: The 'Preezy Of The United Steezy' Gets Hip

obama, jimmy fallon

President Obama went on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last Tuesday night to "slow jam the news."

Interesting, considering the last "slow jam the news" sketch featured Brian Williams criticizing Obama for flip-flopping on his Super PAC stance.

Letting bygones be bygones, Obama – with help from Jimmy Fallon and The Roots – made his case to keep student-loan interest rates low in front of the young audience at UNC-Chapel Hill.

So far, the video has been watched over 4 million times on YouTube, making it the 5th most popular video of the week. As entertaining as his appearance on Late Night was, Obama did receive his fair share of criticism for pandering to the youth vote.

"Mr. President. You're the president. You don't have to do this s--- any more," said a flabbergasted Jon Stewart. The GOP also made an attack ad, but it backfired and ended up making Romney look boring and sad.

From the POTUS getting hip to Channing Tatum revealing more than his hip, here are this week's 10 most watched YouTube videos.

This Week In Movie Trailers: Chloe Moretz Shoots Up Old Men and More

Blake Lively Chloe Moretz

Well folks, it's that time once again: the weekly trailer round-up.

Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones talk about sex in "Hope Springs", Shia LaBeouf proves that he has finally lived down his "Even Stevens" days (to some people) in the Depression-era drama "Lawless" and most importantly, Chloe Moretz hitchhikes around seducing old men and possibly shooting people in the potentially awful movie "Hick."

Oh and Megan Fox is yet again the youngest person in the room in Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" follow-up "This Is 40".

"Mansome"– May 18th

Men like to groom, too.

And as "Supersize Me" director Morgan Spurlock will show you, it's more than just a little shaving and showering. Manscaping is now an art form of its own.

Working with exec producers Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, Spurlock provides a look into the world of looking "mansome."

"G.I. Joe: Retaliation"– June 29th

We know what you're thinking. Why another one? It makes no sense!

But until this sequel to 2009's "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" hit theaters, we're sure there will be trailer after trailer for "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" every week.

We promise not to expose you to the ridiculousness all the time, but this new trailer shows more ridiculous action. And isn't that why people saw the original film in the first place?

"Lawless"– August 31st

Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy star as brothers who work as illegal bootleggers and get into a whole lot of trouble in this new film from "The Road" director John Hillcoat

Guy Pearce, star of "Memento" and the upcoming "Prometheus", plays a baddie with no eyebrows here while Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowka round out the cast.

Hollywood Nepotism: These 15 Rising Stars Have Influential Parents In The Biz

Girls-HBO-Show-Lena-Dunham

There's been a lot of backlash recently over the new HBO show "Girls."

Some say the show has a narrow worldview while others say there is a lack of diversity in the leads. But one growing critique points out that all four actresses have benefitted from Hollywood nepotism

25-year-old show creator Lena Dunham's mother is a famous artist, Allison Williams is the beautiful daughter of "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams, and the list goes on.

But who in Hollywood doesn't benefit from a little inside networking these days?

Everyone knows that Gwenyth Paltrow's parents are Hollywood royalty. The same can be said for the Drew Barrymore, Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal and George Clooney.

Here are 15 rising stars that have parents in the entertainment industry. Whether or not they benefited from their Hollywood relationships is up to you to decide.

Lena Dunham

"Girls" creator Lena Dunham may be an indie darling but her creativity is in the blood.

Her mother is acclaimed photographer and artist, Laurie Simmons. Along with putting together amazing exhibits and gallery shows all over the world, Simmons also co-starred in Dunham's independent hit film "Tiny Furniture."

Allison Williams

Allison Williams may be the break out beauty on "Girls," but her last name didn't hurt when it came to initially getting the gig.

Williams is the daughter of "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams, who happens to be friends with "Girls" producer Judd Apatow; however, the actress still had to audition.

But that's not to say Williams isn't funny. Check out some of her Kate Middleton parodies

Jemima Kirke

Even as the new British transplant to New York City on "Girls", Jemima Kirke is rising up the ranks quickly.

Along with being old high schools buddies with Lena Dunham and co-starring in her film "Tiny Furniture," Kirke also has a parent in the entertainment industry. Her father is Simon Kirke, drummer of the rock band Bad Company

Here's Everything We Learned From 'The Dark Knight Rises' Trailer

$

the-dark-knight-rises

Last night, the third "Dark Knight Rises" trailer hit the web after a massive viral marketing campaign was unleashed earlier in the day.

Warner Bros. asked fans to collect graffiti tags scattered across the world to reveal frames from the new trailer. What probably should have taken days was finished last night, and the unlocked trailer left us stunned.

We don't see Batman until nearly the 1:30 mark, and it doesn't even feel strange. It's an exciting rush of adrenaline to the bloodstream.

So much gets revealed regarding characters and plot points in the nearly 2:30 minute trailer. Pair this with info learned from yesterday's viral campaign and its a doozy to process. Thankfully, we've broken it down for your viewing pleasure.

We knew the summer blockbuster was going to be epic, but is it possible that the film may be better than its predecessor, "The Dark Knight"? We hope so.

One thing's for sure. There's a storm coming and we're looking forward to it.

Haven't seen the trailer yet? Watch it here.

In case there was any doubt, Harvey Dent is indeed dead.

Back in November, an image of Bane holding a photo of Harvey Dent surfaced online, dispelling any thoughts that the villainous Two-Face may have survived his fall at the end of the last film.

As recently as late last year, some fans were still suggesting Harvey Dent's Two-Face may still be alive. We get it, we thought he may have survived the fall, too. (After all, his coin did land heads up, and, we all know, the bad guy never really dies. Look at Ra's al Ghul.)

Either way, the viral campaign put all rumors to rest yesterday with an announcement of "Harvey Dent Day," a day to celebrate Gotham's fallen hero.

With that in mind, Batman is a wanted criminal.

According to documents released on thedarkknightrises.com yesterday, Batman's wanted for first degree murder of Dent, kidnapping the Gordon family, resisting arrest, aggravated assault of a peace office (15 counts) and criminal possession of a weapon. (Does the batarang count as a weapon? Perhaps, the grappling hook. On second thought, it's probably the guns in the now non-existant batpod.)

Got all of that? Good. Onto the trailer!

Christopher Nolan taps his inner Michael Bay.

A lot of Gotham will be blown to bits in "The Dark Knight Rises."

It's no surprise we see two bridges begin to collapse simultaneously.

In December, a few people received bits of viral marketing with Bane's elaborate five-strike zone plan of attack on Gotham. One of the targets on his list? You got it—bridges.

Here's The Agency That's Finally Representing YouTube Stars

youtube logo

While Hollywood stars line up for new projects with online portals from YouTube to Hulu, the stars of the digital age finally have an agency to represent them: Big Frame.

Founded in 2010 by Sarah Penna, Big Frame is one of the first YouTube-centric management companies anywhere. Its channel, Bammo, will take center stage during the Google-owned portals' presentation on Wednesday at the equivalent of TV’s upfronts for online video, called the NewFronts.

The company finds and represents the most popular YouTube personalities, talent that goes by names like MysteryGuitarMan, DeStorm and DudePerfect. The agency helps connect them with big global brands that sponsor their content.

Big Frame's current collection of YouTube stars draws more than 8 million viewers a month. Among the Internet giants, Yahoo, Microsoft and AOL have all made ambitious gambits into original video, but YouTube remains the undisputed king, with 146 million viewers in March alone.

Also Read: YouTube Sensation Freddie Wong: 'Hollywood Is Out of Date' (Exclusive)

While Big Frame calls itself a media company, what makes it stand out from the big boys in the increasingly crowded online video-production business is its management element.

The biggest flaws with YouTube’s content initiatives right now are “discovery and promotion,” Penna told TheWrap. “It’s not easy right now to be discovered if you are just starting out and not plugged into some form of community.”

Since the October launch of YouTube’s 100-channel original-content initiative, which saw the site partner with the likes of Hearst and Jay-Z, an already big business grew even bigger. Capitalizing on that, Big Frame has orchestrated major brand partnerships between its talent and companies like Home Depot and Pepsi.

Brands can get involved in YouTube in a number of ways. There’s the traditional sponsorship, where a certain video or star is sponsored by a particular brand.

But Big Frame also takes other approaches. For example, DeStorm, a rapper, made a music video that takes place almost entirely in a Home Depot.

“It’s not easy right now to be discovered if you are just starting out and not plugged into some form of community."

Or, a couple of years ago GMC approached DudePerfect, a group of Texans who film trick shots, about a partnership. They ended up giving the guys a plane to shoot out of and using the video in an ad campaign.

“Artists have to be brand-friendly,” Penna told TheWrap. “It’s how we keep the lights on."

Big Frame started off being completely financed through brand deals, but it is now closing in on an investment round after launching its YouTube Channel, Bammo, in March. Bammo specializes in special effects-focused work that takes people behind the scenes of the creative process with stars like MysteryGuitarMan and DudePerfect.

DudePerfect, in fact, is an example of a YouTube star Big Frame signed and cultivated, even after they had appeared on “Good Morning America” with their first viral video back in 2009.

“Once you’ve been in it for a little while, you realize how much you don’t know,” Jeff Toney, father of DudePerfect’s Tyler Toney, told TheWrap.

“The Big Frame organization has experience in a lot of areas and can help us increase ad revenue for our videos and make sure we are better positioned to get the right kinds of business opportunities. They can help further the DudePerfect brand.”

Big Frame also oversees marketing and production for Bammo and Penna approves the new videos and makes sure they are both brand-friendly and of adequate quality. That differs from a company like Maker studios, which is more like a full-fledged studio.

In talking with Penna in Big Frame’s West Hollywood office, it’s quite clear she saw where the world was going before it went there. Just one thing: It took her a few years to realize how ahead of everyone she was.

“It’s a new space and a new way of getting a message out there for a brand. There are ways of doing that that are very effective.”

She worked at Current TV in its pre-Al Gore infancy, when it was still dedicated to user-generated content. That was a great idea until YouTube made Current and all broadcast attempts at user-generated content irrelevant.

Still, while at Current she made a series of documentaries, giving her experience on the production side. She also was responsible for scouring for talent, hooking her up with a network of eager and skilled content producers.

“In doing that I uncovered this whole world that was emerging, but I didn’t think much of it,” she said. “I was interested and started watching [YouTube personalities] Stevie Ryan and Phillip DeFranco. I was really impressed with this stuff being made, but in my mind distribution had to be on TV. I still had that mentality of, ‘How can we bring it to TV?’

“Then I realized they have better distribution and are getting millions of views.”

Still, after Current, Penna only went halfway, working at a company that created narrative web series. It wasn't a success, but in the process she continued to notice YouTube talent and suggested they use them in the shows.

Eventually DeFranco hired her and she “de facto became his manager.”

Through that work, she connected with brands who wanted her to pitch them more stars, while the “YouTubers” wanted her to hook them up with brands.

So how did that turn into Big Frame?

“I saw something special and wanted to make sure brands came into the space and that brand integrations were done properly,” Penna said. “It’s a new space and a new way of getting a message out there for a brand. There are ways of doing that that are very effective.”

So she decided to start a company that manages YouTube talent, called it Cloud Media, and gave herself six months to see if she could make it work.

“People said, ‘What? How do you make money on YouTube? How do you make money from the people who make money on YouTube?’”

What these people didn't know about was branding, and the commission a management company could take for its services.

Nor did they know YouTube was planning its major channels initiative, which Penna heard about not too long after starting the company.

Still, after she launched Cloud Media, Penna realized she had a problem -- just being a management company was insufficient. It either had to be a massive management company or it had to get into the other facets of the YouTube business.

Hollywood is slow and bloated, he said. On YouTube, you get instantaneous feedback and can alter your programming to satisfy the audience.

So she decided to turn it into a media company, overseeing every aspect of a YouTube star’s career and creating YouTube channels.

To help do that, she brought in Steve Raymond, whose career had taken him through the worlds of big media (Comcast and Yahoo) and start-ups (Relegence and Musicmatch).

“It was a perfect aligning of the stars. I was looking for somebody to come in and figure out the investor side of things and ad sales,” Penna said.

One individual from a rival company, who asked not to be identified, said Big Frame had a way to go in defining itself.

“I don’t know what they are providing,” he told TheWrap. “It feels more like a sales and marketing company or an ad network. 'We’re a media company.' But that just means you have these disparate businesses and you have to bring them together.”

When TheWrap spoke with Raymond over lunch, he made pretty clear he thought YouTube was the future of TV. Hollywood is slow and bloated, he said. On YouTube, you get instantaneous feedback and can alter your programming to satisfy the audience.

And while some question whether these YouTube stars can cross, Penna and Raymond say that isn’t even a focus right now. They’ve been approached by networks and resisted.

Given the meteoric rise of online video, having to figure out your identity -- with revenue already coming in -- falls under growing pains.

It Looks Like We May Be Getting Another 'Hulk' Film After All

mark-ruffaloMark Ruffalo says he signed a deal to play The Hulk in six films.

The actor, who plays the scientist-turned monster in "The Avengers," told Collider he's set to reprise his character in a multi-contract deal.

Sure, the Hulk will most likely appear in the next "Iron Man" and "Captain America" sequels. However, this basically means we're getting another "Hulk" film.

Forbes has already hinted at an expected release date for 2015. There's even talk of big green as a potential corporate icon.

Yes, it's a bit strange that we'll most likely see Dr. Bruce Banner solo on the big screen yet again, given the failed 2003 release "Hulk" with Eric Bana and the more recent 2008 flick "The Incredible Hulk" featuring Edward Norton. However, Ruffalo's been receiving a lot of praise for his portrayal.

Personally, we enjoyed Norton's take along with many others. The film fared well at theaters as well, earning $263.4 million worldwide

For Marvel, it makes sense—"The Avengers" is dominating overseas, grossing $218.2 million to date and audiences are responding well to Ruffalo.

Bottom line: No matter how great of a performance Ruffalo gives, a third Hulk film is as tiresome as Sony's rebirth of the Spider-man franchise and the impending reboot of the Batman franchise once Nolan's trilogy closes this summer.

The Avengers" comes out Friday, but right now, everyone's talking about the new "Dark Knight Rises" trailer. Check it out>

lifetime

Lifetime Networks is trying to move away from its image as the purveyor of movies for women in which the husband always has a dark secret, and has unveiled a new logo (right) and tagline, "Your life. Your Time."

Lifetime president

Nancy Dubuc, told the Hollywood Reporter, "You only have one shot to do this ... It's not like you can go out and put a stake in the ground and claim a brand position and redo your on-air look every two years."

That, in fact, isn't true. The new marque is the company's 11th rebranding in 28 years. So if you don't like it, don't worry—the company will roll out a new one soon.

Since it was started in 1984, Lifetime has had some of the worst corporate logos in the business. This slideshow, based on archives at The Branding Source and Logopedia, shows how they evolved.

1984: Lifetime's first logo. It inherited the apple from Cable Health Network, the channel it replaced.

The apple was quickly dropped.

And a new tagline was added.

HBO Lost A Crazy Amount of Money For Killing 'Luck'

HBO's cancellation of the beleagured horseracing drama "Luck" cost the network $35 million, according to an earnings report released by Time Warner Wednesday.

Time Warner, which owns the premium cable provider, said it suffered the "impairment" because of the series' cancellation in its first season following the death of three horses. The $35 million included the costs of producing and promoting the show, which could not be recouped because of its early demise, said Time Warner spokesman Keith Cocozza.

"We shut down the show before we could make any money on what was spent," he told TheWrap.

The series, executive produced by David Milch and Michael Mann and starring Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte, debuted to high expectations. But it earned disappointing ratings and quickly became embroiled in questions about the horse deaths during filming. Its decision to cancel the show in March helped contain the scandal and protect a reputation that HBO has spent decades building.

Think Our Secret Service Agents Are Bad? Here Are 10 Government Agent FAILS In Film

Angelina Jolie Salt

By now, we've all heard the ridiculous things our Secret Service agents have been doing behind close doors.

Drinking, prostitutes, smoking—these agents were stupidly letting off steam. Is it really not enough to just go on a golfing trip or something equally as legal and non-controversial?

But these antics are nothing compared to the way government agents are sometimes depicted on film.

From treason to murder to just plain idiocy, here are ten films in which agents from the CIA, NSA, FBI and the Secret Service have really screwed up big time.

And if you haven't seen these films, be warned. This is your official SPOILER ALERT.

"The Bourne Series" (2002, 2004, 2007)

A senior-level CIA agent happens to be a mole and steals $20 million from the government.

In order to get away with the crime, he kills a lot of people and frames poor Treadstone agent Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) who has just woken up with no memory and a gunshot wound.

"Salt" (2010)

A Russian informant tells the CIA that one of their own is actually a Russian spy who has been living a quiet American existence until one day the spy will take down the Russian and U.S. Presidents in order to start a full scale nuclear war.

The agent is said to be Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) but the real traitor ends up being her boss Agent Winters (Liev Schreiber).

"Air Force One" (1997)

The President (Harrison Ford) and his staff and family are held hostage upon Air Force One by Russian terrorists. When the President finally defeats the Russian terrorist leader (Gary Oldman) and tries to zip line to a rescue plane, he is stopped his Secret Service agent friend Gibbs (Xander Berkeley) who is revealed to be a mole for the Russians.

President Marshall knocks him over momentarily and makes it onto the second plane as Air Force Once crashes in the water.

jack dorsey twitter banana phone

Jack Dorsey, the co-founder/chairman of Twitter, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award last week at the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards—at age 34.

After the success of Twitter, Dorsey co-founded Square in 2009. The company allows anyone, anywhere to accept credit card payments on their mobile devices, and more than a million individuals and merchants in the U.S. have taken advantage of it.

After taking the stage after Justin Bieber to accept his award in a freshly pressed grey suit, we waited patiently as Dorsey greeted colleagues and fans, signed autographs for children and posed for photos (Twitpics, presumably) with teenagers.

With no time left for a formal interview, Dorsey allowed me to accompany him as he left the venue and walked several blocks in search of a cab to take him uptown.

He opened up to Business Insider about some personal preferences—from his favorite brand of jeans to which celebrities he thinks best utilize Twitter.

You keep an extremely regimented schedule, what's a typical week?

Sunday is for recruiting and strategy.

Monday is for management leadership and direction.

Tuesday is for product.

Wednesday is for marketing, communications and growth.

Thursday is for external meetings and partnerships.

Friday is for the company.

Saturday I take off.

So what do you do on Saturdays?

Saturdays I usually go for a long walk, a hike with friends, have dinner—it varies.

Sometimes I drive south, that's one of the best things about the Bay area because you can be in this epic nature and feel like you're in a different world, so I do that a lot.

Have you ever played hooky during the work week?

I don't think I ever have.

Bravo Will Premiere The Sad Documentary About The Biggest House In America

$

versailles florida

When it comes to houses, there's "as is" -- and then there's "as is." In the case of the Windermere, Fla., property nicknamed "Versailles", "as is" includes 90,000 partially built-out square feet, with room for 10 kitchens, 30 bathrooms, and a 7,200-square-foot ballroom big enough to seat 500 people.

The biggest house in America also comes with a helluva story, chronicled in the documentary film, "The Queen of Versailles," which debuted at this year's Sundance Film Festival (and snagged top honors for director Lauren Greenfield).

The story of Windermere's construction, and the strain it put on billionaire David Siegel, his wife Jackie and their eight children, is now set to reach a wider audience as Bravo has acquired the right to broadcast the film.

When last AOL Real Estate reported on the unfinished mega-mansion -- as as an object lesson of a work in progress -- it had just gone on the market for $75 million. According to what its makers and movie critics are saying about the "The Queen of Versailles," the lessons go far beyond that, confronting issues of greed, the Great Recession and the American Dream.

The documentary chronicles the Siegels' attempt to build the biggest and arguably most over-the-top house in America in the face of looming financial crisis.

The story: Jackie and David Siegel and their eight children live in a 26,000 square feet mansion in Orlando while overseeing construction of a dream castle -- a 90,000 square foot palace modeled on Versailles, in France, that would include three swimming pools, a two-story wine cellar, a full-size baseball diamond, 10 kitchens, 30 bathrooms, and a 7,200 square feet ballroom big enough to seat 500.

But in 2008, their plans go awry as David Siegel's Westgate Resorts timeshare empire takes a hit in the stock market crash -- and turns the biggest house in America into perhaps its most distressed property.

"The Queen of Versailles" will premiere on the Bravo channel in 2013, alongside a lineup that already includes "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and "Million Dollar Listing: New York."

In the meantime, the drama continues as the Siegels have sued the Sundance Institute and Greenfield for defamation, for the way they were described in the documentary's promotional material. The disputed didn't keep Jackie Siegel from basking in the limelight at the film's Sundance premiere, though. (That's her on the left in the above photo, posing for a portrait with Greenfield.)

While it appears that the Siegels have since recovered their financial footing and plan to finish their dream palace in the next year or two, it is still for sale, Bloomberg BusinessWeek reports -- but now at a $10 million discount, for $65 million.

The channel from filmmakers Jon Avnet ("Black Swan," Risky Business") and Rodrigo Garcia ("In Treatment") will follow 5-8 minute installments about the lives of women featuring some of Hollywood's biggest actresses and actors—Jennifer Garner, Julia Stiles, Stephen Moyer and Kristen Wiig to name a few.

Topics covered include a woman (Garner) in love with her priest and a mother (Stiles) keeping a secret from her son.

Check out this teaser from one of their shorts "Jan" featuring Moyer ("True Blood") as a sex-crazed movie star. It premieres May 14. We're intrigued.

NEW YORK (May 2, 2012) - Today Google and YouTube host “Brandcast,” the company’s first-ever upfront event, in New York City. “Brandcast” will highlight YouTube’s new original channels and opportunities for brands to reach diverse audiences on YouTube and right across Google, including demographics like women, teens, young men, and multicultural audiences. This is happening as online video consumption continues to grow, with three billion hours of video a month watched on YouTube by more than 800 million viewers around the world.

“At YouTube, we’re not just re-imagining video – we’re re-imagining brand-building on the web.” said Google’s VP for Global Video Sales, Lucas Watson. “The world’s most important brands are increasingly looking to reach the diverse audiences YouTube attracts, which is why Unilever, Toyota, and AT&T have already jumped on board and are building their brands alongside these new YouTube channels.”

Ahead of the event, the company today announced additional YouTube channels, along with consumer trend research. New partners and channels include filmmakers Jon Avnet and Rodrigo Garcia, the U.S. Olympic Committee, collaborations between Tribeca Enterprises and Maker Studios, and a new show from Machinima and Halo Waypoint.

New Partners and Channels

YouTube welcomes filmmakers Jon Avnet (Black Swan, Fried Green Tomatoes, Risky Business) and Rodrigo Garcia (Albert Nobbs, In Treatment, Mother and Child), who have joined forces to create WIGS (youtube.com/wigs), a channel producing original, scripted dramatic series and short films about the lives of women. Virginia Madsen, Stephen Moyer, Caitlin Gerard, Jennifer Garner, Alfred Molina and Julia Stiles star in the first three series, with Jennifer Beals, America Ferrera, Dakota Fanning, Michael C. Hall, Alison Janney and other acclaimed actors starring in upcoming series. The content will also feature documentaries, behind-the-scenes videos, and other unscripted content, all starring female leads, and will launch in May.

Also coming to YouTube is the TeamUSA channel (youtube.com/teamusa) from the United States Olympic Committee, which will include original content featuring 2012 U.S. Olympians, hopefuls and legends from years’ past, instruction from Olympic sport coaches, and historical Olympic Games footage. The channel will be sponsored by AT&T.

Tribeca Enterprises, the parent company of Tribeca Film Festival and the distribution label Tribeca Film, has teamed up with YouTube partner Maker Studios, to bring a new channel called The Picture Show to YouTube later this year.

And coming to YouTube this Fall on Machinima (youtube.com/machinima) and Halo Waypoint (youtube.com/halowaypoint) is Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, a new live action series that leads into the events of Halo 4.

The new channels announced today join a roster of YouTube original channels that includes Machinima, DanceOn, Nerdist, U look haute, the Warner Sound and more; and feature talent like Rainn Wilson, Amy Poehler, Jay-Z , Walter Latham, Electus, Jon M. Chu, The Onion, Justin Lin, and Participant Media.

“Content creators of all stripes, from super producers to talented up-and-comers, are creating the next generation of channels on YouTube,” said Robert Kyncl, Global Head of Content for YouTube. “With top channels averaging more than one million views a week, they’re attracting fans and developing robust content brands.”

By the end of the July, there will be 25 hours of new original content on YouTube each day.

Consumer Trends

At “Brandcast,” YouTube will also share highlights from “Generation V,” a comprehensive YouTube study of consumer video trends, which reveals that men 18-34 are now spending more time streaming video than watching live TV, one third visit YouTube multiple times a day, half subscribe to a YouTube channel, and two thirds shared YouTube videos in the past week. It also finds that 40% of women 25-49 have subscribed to a YouTube channel, half shared a video this past week, and one third regularly share online video with their kids or parents.

“YouTube is a place where brands can have vibrant conversations with the people they want to reach,”  stated Jim Lecinski, VP, US Sales and Service for Google. “It’s one of our cornerstone investments in making the web work for brand marketers. When you add the full reach of Google, across search, mobile, and the Google Display Network, and combine it with your TV campaigns, you can reach people across all four screens, at the moments that matter most to them.”

TeamUSA: Just in time for the 2012 Summer Games, the USOC is launching a channel with shows such as “The Road to London,” with historic Olympics footage and instruction from Olympics coaches. Don’t expect any current Olympics coverage here — that’s closely guarded by NBC and the International Olympic Committee’s other international media partners. That channel will have AT&T as a sponsor and also launch in May.
