Marvel Is Already Working On 'Captain America 3'

nick fury captain americaMarvel is wasting no time in planning the next Captain America sequel.

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of the upcoming "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" are being brought back to direct a third installment in the series, according to Variety.

This is a big commitment from Marvel considering "The Winter Solider" hasn't even hit theaters yet (and that the first Captain America film wasn't exactly Marvel's biggest box-office draw).

However, Variety reports Marvel wanted to secure the directors after being so impressed by the production, test screenings, and current buzz for the upcoming film.

The film may be in its early stages of development, but the Russos are already putting together the foundations for the "Captain America 3" storyline. This includes Chris Evans returning as the star-spangled hero.

Marvel had no comment on the story.

"Captain America: The Winter Solider" premieres April 4th.

Justin Bieber Turns Himself In To Toronto Police On Assault Charges

Canadian police charged pop star Justin Bieber with the December assault of a limousine driver, shortly after the 19-year-old had turned himself in.

The young heartthrob will go before court on March 10, Toronto police said in a statement that came out just over two hours after he had handed himself in, amid chaotic scenes.

The charges are the latest run-in with the law for the teen star after his Los Angeles home was searched because he allegedly hurled eggs at a neighbor's house, and his arrest in Miami Beach on January 23 for drag racing and impaired driving.

"On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, Justin Bieber, 19, of Calabasas, California, surrendered to police at 52 Division," the Toronto police statement said, adding the troubled star will go before court at Toronto's Old City Hall.

Bieber is accused of hitting a limousine driver "several times" over the back of the head. The car had picked he and five others up from a nightclub in the city in the early hours of December 30.

"While driving the group to a hotel, an altercation occurred between one of the passengers and the driver of the limousine," the statement said.

"In the course of the altercation, a man struck the limousine driver on the back of the head several times.

"The driver stopped the limousine, exited the vehicle and called police.

"The man who struck him left the scene before police arrived."

Earlier, wearing a baseball cap turned backwards and a black hooded winter coat, the singer entered the station in Toronto escorted by officers who rushed him through a large crowd of screaming fans and journalists.

"Move back, don't push! Don't push!" a police officer said as girls shrieked at the sight of Bieber's large black limousine. CTV television said the heartthrob pulled up around 7:30 pm (0030 GMT Friday).

Fans rushed in holding up smartphones hoping get a picture of the clean-cut, baby-faced young star turned tattooed, barely adult bad boy.

A girl screamed "I love you, Justin, I love you!" as dozens of cameras flashed to light up the night.

Woes mount for star

The singer also got in trouble with the authorities in Australia and Brazil for spraying graffiti. In Brazil, Bieber was photographed emerging under a blanket from a notorious Rio brothel and later tried in vain to bring prostitutes into the posh Copacabana Palace.

Bieber said he was not guilty of the charges filed against him in Florida last week -- including drunk driving, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.

In a filing by the pop star's attorneys to a Miami court, Bieber formally rejected the charges.

The White House, meanwhile, was asked to weigh in on Bieber's bad behavior after it received a petition with more than 100,000 signatures calling for the Canadian-born signer to be deported.

By 9:00 pm Wednesday (0200 GMT Thursday), a petition on the White House website calling for the deportation of the Canadian-born teen idol had garnered more than 155,300 names -- easily surpassing the threshold of 100,000 signatures required for presidential consideration.

"We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture," says the petition, created by one "J.A." in Detroit the day Bieber was busted in Miami Beach.

"We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive and drug-abusing Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."

Bieber is understood to be living and working in the United States under a renewable O-1 visa for entertainers, rather than a green card for permanent resident status.

It remains unclear whether Bieber's visa to stay in the United States would be affected by his legal issues.

Ellen DeGeneres Busts A Move As Goldilocks In A Super Bowl Ad For Beats Music

Ellen DeGeneres and Beats Music are putting their own spin on the classic fairy tale "The Three Bears" at this year's Super Bowl.

Ellen, as Goldilocks, breaks into a nice apartment in "The Woods" complex in search of "the perfect music to dance to." Papa Bear's Black Sabbath is too fast, Mama Bear's Brandy Clark is too slow, and the electronic breakdown of the teenager's Dillon Francis is just too intense.

Before she can find the perfect track, the bear family comes home. The Wolf is their funky friend in this version of the tale, and he gets everyone dancing to "Can You Do This" by Aloe Blacc.

Ellen revealed the ad to her talk show audience on the episode airing on Thursday. The commercial starts at 0:58:

After premiering the ad, produced by R/GA, Ellen gave everyone in her audience a new LG G Flex smartphone with a curved screen so that they could use the Beats app.

Beats Music is a paid streaming music service that has features of both Spotify and Songza, and is from the same brand behind the popular Beats by Dre headphones.

Marvel Exec Transitions To Screenwriter For 'Thor 3' Script

chris hemsworth thor the dark world

As "Thor 3" production starts to get underway, Marvel announced that one of their own executives will work on the film's script

Craig Kyle will co-write the sequel's screenplay with longtime friend Christopher Yost, who also co-wrote the "Thor: The Dark World" script.

Marvel announced Wednesday that Kyle will be transitioning from his executive role at the company to full-time screenwriting.

That's a big change for the former SVP of Production and Development at Marvel Studios who started out at the company as the sole Creative Executive for the company's animation department.

The "Thor" property has been a lucrative one for Disney and Marvel as "Thor: The Dark World" made $632.9 million worldwide.

If that seems like a bit of a risk for Marvel, Kyle is one of the men behind the company's original character X-23, a female clone of Wolverine and co-wrote a few X-Men comics.

He also served as executive producer and co-producer on both "Thor: The Dark World" and "Thor" respectively.

In addition he has also developed, produced, and written a few of Marvel's original animated projects ranging from "Next Avengers" to "Thor: Tales of Asgard."

There is no current release date for "Thor 3."

OSCARS SCANDAL: Academy Revokes Song Nomination After 'Unfair' Campaigning

$

Alone Yet Not Alone

In an extremely rare and cringe-worthy move, the Academy has revoked a Best Original Song nomination after accusations of improper campaigning.

The song “Alone Yet Not Alone,” music by Bruce Broughton and lyric by Dennis Spiegel, was a surprise nomination for the little-seen film of the same name  beating out more likely nominees such as Taylor Swift or Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" on "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack.

Bruce Broughton

"The decision was prompted by the discovery that Broughton, a former governor and current music branch executive committee member, had emailed members of the branch to make them aware of his submission during the nominations voting period," reports Variety.

But Broughton insists he has done nothing wrong.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly after the nominations, Broughton was open with the fact that he urged the members of his branch to simply consider the song.

“What happens is that the music branch of the Academy puts all the songs on a disc and I was concerned that this song would be really easy to overlook. So, yeah, I wrote some people and said, ‘Could you just take a look.’ That was literally the extent of the campaigning," Broughton admitted before the current controversy. "I received in the mail songs from other films that were pressed and recorded CDs. We didn’t do anything like that at all.”

But that didn't stop the Academy from voting to rescind Broughton's nomination, making it one of the few times in history this has happened.

While campaigning happens all the time in the Oscars race, the Academy argued that it was unethical for Broughton to do so as an officer in the organization.

Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs said in a statement, “No matter how well-intentioned the communication, using one’s position as a former governor and current executive committee member to personally promote one’s own Oscar submission creates the appearance of an unfair advantage.”

Broughton has responded by saying “I’m devastated. I indulged in the simplest, lamest, grass-roots campaign and it went against me when the song started getting attention. I got taken down by competition that had months of promotion and advertising behind them.”

Broughton and lyricist Dennis Spiegel are out of the running completely and a new nominee will not be added.

Instead, the category will only have four honorees this year:

1. “Happy” from Despicable Me 2 (Music and Lyric by Pharrell Williams)

2. “Let It Go” from Frozen (Music and Lyric by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez)

3. “The Moon Song” from Her (Music by Karen O; Lyric by Karen O and Spike Jonze)

4. “Ordinary Love” from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (Music by U2)

But Broughton and Spiegel aren't the only ones hurt by the Oscar exclusion, as it is also a blow to the song's quadriplegic singer, Joni Eareckson Tada.

"With limited lung capacity due to her disability, Tada, who is also an Evangelical minister, had her husband, Ken, pushing on her diaphragm while she recorded the Oscar-nominated song to give her enough breath to hit the high notes," adds Variety.

Watch the group recording the once-Oscar nominated song below:

Justin Bieber Toxicology Report Shows He Was On Xanax And Weed

Justin Bieber in court

Justin Bieber was on marijuana and Xanax at the time of his DUI arrest last week in Miami, the 19-year old's just-released toxicology report shows.

According to TMZ, the singer's "urine was tested right after he was busted for driving under the influence on January 23 ... and it shows there was THC and Alprazolam [the key ingredient in Xanax, a prescription anti-anxiety medication] in his system."

On the bright side, the report shows Bieber tested negative for cocaine, opiates, meth, and other drugs.

Bieber's story is consistent with the police report in which cops say the pop star told them his mom had provided him with prescription pills and that he had been smoking weed all day in a recording studio.

Bieber has plead not guilty to the DUI charges, and is set to be arraigned on February 14.

Scarlett Johansson Drops Oxfam After SodaStream Controversy

$

scarjo soda alt thumb

Scarlett Johansson is dropping her title as global ambassador for Oxfam so that she can keep that title with SodaStream.

Her first ad for the Israeli soda kit company will run during the Super Bowl on Feb. 2.

The conflict is focused on SodaStream's large factory in the West Bank, an Israeli settlement claimed by Palestinians. Oxfam, an international humanitarian organization, considers such settlements to be illegal under international law and is against all trade from them.

Johansson's publicist defended the actress' position in a statement:

Scarlett Johansson has respectfully decided to end her ambassador role with Oxfam after eight years. She and Oxfam have a fundamental difference of opinion in regards to the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement. She is very proud of her accomplishments and fundraising efforts during her tenure with Oxfam.

On Tuesday, a group of activists met with Oxfam representatives at Oxfam America's headquarters in Boston to urge the organization to cut ties with ScarJo.

Shortly after SodaStream announced its partnership with Johansson on Jan. 10, human rights groups from Los Angeles and New York delivered a petition with almost 12,000 signatures to Johansson's representatives requesting that she end her brand sponsorship.

Oxfam's statement suggests that it may have given Johansson an ultimatum:

Oxfam has accepted Scarlett Johansson’s decision to step down after eight years as a Global Ambassador and we are grateful for her many contributions.

While Oxfam respects the independence of our ambassadors, Ms. Johansson’s role promoting the company SodaStream is incompatible with her role as an Oxfam Global Ambassador.

Oxfam believes that businesses, such as SodaStream, that operate in settlements further the ongoing poverty and denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support.

Oxfam is opposed to all trade from Israeli settlements, which are illegal under international law. Ms. Johansson has worked with Oxfam since 2005 and in 2007 became a Global Ambassador, helping to highlight the impact of natural disasters and raise funds to save lives and fight poverty.

The initial edit of Johansson's Super Bowl commercial for the company recently gained a lot of attention after Fox banned it from its broadcast for directly attacking Coke and Pepsi, huge Super Bowl sponsors, at the end. A new cut of the 30-second ad below will be televised instead:

Xbox One promotion

Boy, does Microsoft have a deal for you, but only if you're willing to switch teams.

If you have a PlayStation 3 and are ready to move on to a next-gen console, now is a good time: Microsoft is offering a $100 credit on a Xbox One if you trade in your PS3.

The email reads: "Ditch your PS3 and get $100 store credit towards Xbox One."

According to Microsoft's site, you can also get $100 credit when you trade in your older Xbox 360 models. But it seems that the push is to get you to get rid of your PS3.

The offer is only good in Microsoft retail stores — not online — and lasts until March 2. Dropping $100 makes the Xbox One the same price as the PS4, which starts at around $400.

Your move, Sony.

Other than the big game and the Super Bowl commercials Sunday, we're excited for new movie trailers.

Five of the big studios will show televised spots for new spring and summer films.

Missing from the line up this year are Warner Bros. and Fox who won't promote their movies during the big game.

Perhaps the biggest reveal will be the first footage from the next "Transformers" sequel.

beyonce and jay z house of the day The New York Post reports today that Jay-Z and Beyoncé are looking to buy a Hamptons home, and recently checked out a luxurious property in East Hampton.

The home, on Further Lane, is listed through the luxury real estate firm Corcoran Group. Though the price has not been disclosed, insiders told Page Six that the home owners are asking for "around $25 million."

The 6,500-square-foot mansion has four bedrooms and over two acres of property, complete with an apple orchard, stone pathways, heated pools, and a tennis court.

There's also plenty of indoor space with dark wood floors, vaulted ceilings, and gorgeous furniture which would be included in the sale.

Last year, Jay and Bey spent a reported $400,000 to spend one month in Joe Farrell's Sandcastle home in Bridgehampton, with a bowling alley, movie theater, and spa. Looks like this year they could be ready to buy their own Hamptons hideaway.

Whether or not they buy the home, it's worth a peek inside.

George Zimmerman has agreed to a celebrity boxing match against a not-yet-selected opponent on March 1, WFTS-ABC Action News is reporting.

TMZ originally reported the match, which ABC confirmed with the fight promoter. Zimmerman said he would be donating his fight proceeds to charity.

“Boxing isn’t new to me," Zimmerman told Radar Online. "It’s something I had picked up well before the incident and it’s something that I liked, I enjoyed, and I kept up with it and I was able to lose a tremendous amount of weight and get a healthy lifestyle."

Scant details have emerged on the potential bout, although Zimmerman's promoter told TMZ that he would fight anyone, of any background.

"We're not looking at it as a race thing," the promoter said. " ... We haven't discussed purple, yellow, white, black."

Zimmerman, 30, was acquitted in July on all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old walking through the neighborhood Zimmerman believed was a possible burglar.

Unable to find work following the trial, Zimmerman recently went to eBay to sell original paintings. His first, an American flag painting with the words "God, One Nation, with Liberty and Justice for All," sold for more than $100,000.

14 Surprising Oscar-Nominated Films

jackass bad grandpa

The Oscars are supposed to be Hollywood's most prestigious awards ceremony, but that doesn't mean a movie has to be prestigious to be recognized by the Academy.

Sometimes some of the more forgettable or just outright bad films of the year wind up on Academy ballots.

Movies that were shockingly nominated >

1. "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" (2013)

Yes, thanks to the Hair and Makeup category, a movie presented by Jackass and staring Johnny Knoxville as an old man who plays hidden camera pranks on unsuspecting passerbys is up for as many Oscars this year as All is Lost and Before Midnight.

2. "Mirror, Mirror" (2012)

In a year (2013) that saw two live action adaptations of the Snow White fairy tale, both got nominated for Best Costume Design.

Only one deserved it, and it definitely wasn't Mirror Mirror (unless you consider putting a swan on an actress' head is something especially innovative).

3. "Transformers" (2007)

Did you know the Transformers franchise has more Oscar nominations than Marlon Brando and Al Pacino have for acting and more than Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg have for directing? Those guys should get into stunt work and special effects.

This Girl Offers A Random Guy A Bud Light Only If He Agrees To Be 'Up For Whatever Happens Next ...'

Bud Light guy getting suit from Minka Kelly Super Bowl ad

Bud Light is using this year's Super Bowl to introduce a new tagline, "The Perfect Beer For Whatever Happens," and America's best-selling beer is pulling out all the stops to make sure it's a hit.

In its "Epic Nights" ad posted Friday morning on YouTube, a hidden camera follows an average Joe named Ian as he meets a woman named Kelly (he doesn't know she's an actress), who offers to give him a bottle of Bud Light if he promises to be up for whatever happens next. Ian agrees, and things take off from there.

In a storyline that somewhat mirrors the popular "The Hangover" movies, Ian is led to a stretch limousine filled with beautiful women and comedian/DJ Reggie Watts, who are on their way to a bachelor party.

From there, Ian receives a suit from Minka Kelly, meets Don Cheadle (and a llama) in an elevator, and challenges Arnold Schwarzenegger to an intense game of ping-pong in front of a crowd of cheering fans.

After Ian defeats Arnold, one of the walls in the room they are standing in comes down to reveal that they are actually in a giant party being played by the band OneRepublic.

Here's the video, which is nearly four minutes long. The Super Bowl commercial will be edited down to 90 seconds and aired over two commercial spots during the game.

Bud Light is hoping that its star-studded ad and new tagline will win over millennials as it looks to reverse a continued sales decline resulting from the rising popularity of craft beers and sweet cocktails.

The ad was made by BBDO, which Bud Light named as its agency of record this past summer.
