There's a new trailer out for Scarlett Johansson's alien movie "Under the Skin."

Earlier this month, Film4 debuted the first trailer for the movie in which Johansson plays a seductive alien sent to Earth to pick up unsuspecting hitchhikers.

"Under the Skin" comes from Jonathan Glazer ("Birth") who filmed the movie using actual unsuspecting people. In a dark wig, Johansson was sent to wander Glasgow city and people's reactions to her were filmed.

The film has received positivereviews after premiering at the Venice film festival.

There's currently no release date for the film.

Here's How Much Breaking Bad's Walter White Caused His Neighbors' Home Values To Plummet

$
0

carolWARNING: MINOR SPOILER ALERT

In the latest episode of Breaking Bad, we learn that the family home of meth kingpin Walter White is being sold at police auction.

Carol, their neighbor, can't be happy.

Thanks to a recent study, we can actually quantify her displeasure.

In his 2011 paper, "The Lasting Effects of Crime: The Relationship of Discovered Methamphetamine Laboratories and Home Values," Holy Cross econ professor Joshua Congdon-Hohman calculates how much damage meth labs cause to surrounding home values after they're discovered.

Although Walter White, aka Heisenberg, wasn't running a lab directly out of his home, it's safe to say its newfound association with his activities create similar conditions.

We can also expand the paper's findings to Jesse Pinkman's first home, where he and Heisenberg had set up a lab; as well as Gus Fring's massive operation beneath a laundry, which Heisenberg burnt down.

Using housing sales data from Akron, Ohio — home to that state's largest concentration of meth labs  — Congdon-Hohman finds the following:

  • For homes sold within an eighth of a mile after a lab is discovered, there is a 10.5% decline in sales prices.
  • Within the first year of the discovery the decline can be as much as 19%.
  • For homes sold within a quarter of a mile after a lab is discovered, there is a 4.5% decline.
  • The declines persist for at least two years.
  • It didn't matter if an additional meth lab was discovered — just a single busted cook site can take down several blocks.

Here's the chart:

meth home values

It turns out that home values within one-sixteenth of a mile of the lab don't show tremendous changes pre- and post-bust.

That is presumably because, at such a close distance, the presence of the lab may be better known, Congdon-Hohman says.

Still, since meth labs are often better concealed than other types of illicit activity run out of homes, their presence may not be as obvious to someone living more than 600 feet away as they might be to someone living only 300 feet away, he says.

So since people's wealth is to a great degree tied to their home values, he writes, "From a policy perspective, this finding suggests that government initiatives that would reduce the number of methamphetamine labs should be well funded."

We can actually complete the thought experiment for the White residence by looking at how much homes cost in the real-life neighborhood where externals are shot.

That would be Albuquerque's Loma Del Rey neighborhood, where the median home price is currently $265,000.

So a 10.5% decline would kick prices down to $237,175 for homes up the block, and declines to $253,075 for all of Loma.

Thanks a lot, Mr. White.

Dave Coulier Says Alanis Morissette's 'You Oughta Know' Is About Him

After nearly two decades of speculation, actor Dave Coulier  aka goofy "Uncle Joey" from "Full House"  is finally confirming that Alanis Morisette's hit breakup song "You Oughta Know" is indeed about him.

Just to jog your memory, this is Dave Coulier:

Dave Coulier

Yeah, this guy.

Dave Coulier

Coulier, who dated Morissette in the ’90s, told HuffPost Live that when the song came out in 1995, “I called her and said, ‘Look, what do you want me to say to the media when these folks call me? And she said, ‘You can say whatever you want.’”

Coulier added that there’s one line in the song that’s a dead giveaway it’s about him: “I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner.”

Coulier revealed, “We had already broken up… She called and I said, ‘Hey, you know, I’m right in the middle of dinner. Can I just call you right back?’”

“When I heard the line, it was like, ‘uh-oh,’” said the actor.

But it's all good now, as Coulier told HuffPost Live, "I think nothing but the world of her."

Get a peek into their relationship by watching Alanis Morisette's music video below:

The Casting Director For The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Describes The 'Terrifying' Audition Process For Models

victoria's secret Doutzen Kroes

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is one of the most sought-after gigs in the modeling business.

But the lingerie brand's audition process is "terrifying," even for the most seasoned models, creative director Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou told Vogue

The models are cast provisionally by one director, but they still have to face a gauntlet:

"The final decision is made by the whole team, sitting at this long table in a room with really harsh lighting and they have to walk towards us and away from us," Neophitou-Apostolou told Vogue. "They all have to do it—even the contracted girls—and it's incredibly nerve-wracking for them."

Neophitou also explained why some beautiful women don't make the cut.

"It's really like being an Olympian—they have to be in peak condition," she told Vogue. "It's not about being thin or anything like that—it's about being ready to perform and be the best you can be in that moment."

Victoria's Secret executives rely on one specific quality to sell underwear, Richard Habberley at DNA Model Management told Women's Wear Daily last year.

“The merchants drive the decisions on the Angels. They [Victoria’s Secret] try the girls out, and certain girls sell product. They’re women that appeal to other women. And they’re special because they never appear in men’s magazines. Once you start to do that, they become threatening [to potential female customers],” said Habberley.

Mark Cuban Called This The Worst 'Shark Tank' Pitch Ever

Mark Cuban

During the season five premiere of ABC’s reality pitch show "Shark Tank" on Friday, Mark Cuban literally got out of his chair to tell Tucson, Ariz.-based doctor brothers Richard and Albert Amini: "Worst pitch ever."

But the worst part is, if you watched the episode, you can't blame Cuban. This is a lesson in how not to pitch your business to investors.

The Amini brothers' pitch is a mobile health app called Rolodoc, which is meant to be a secure social media platform that allows physicians to upload and display their medical records. The platform would also act as a communication tool between doctors, patients, and other medical professionals.

"What we’re trying to do is bring social media and the social network to the medical profession," says Albert, the surgeon brother credited with the idea.

Richard and Albert Amini Shark TankThe Aminis were asking for a $50,000 investment in exchange for a 20% stake in their company.

Their mobile technology idea isn't a bad one. But the problem is, that's about as far as they got.

They couldn't explain how they would convince physicians to sign up for the platform. Or how they would market or advertise Rolodoc. Or how they would vet doctors using the platform. Or even how they are planning on making any money.

And it just got worse. The Amini brothers couldn't explain how physicians could use social media on their platform, despite selling the idea as a social media communication platform for doctors and their patients.

"You keep saying social media, social media. This is all one-to-one communication," argued Cuban.

Mark Cuban Shark Tank"You didn't show us anything about social media," he said. "You showed us profiles and talked to us about emails. You didn't tell us at all about how you were going to get there."

By the end of the pitch, the brothers were completely annihilated and received no funding for Rolodoc.

Real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran called the pitch the "worst sales presentation I've heard," and entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary said: "I don't mind sacrificing a couple of doctors if the next two doctors that come in will make me money."

No matter what profession you're in, there's one lesson any aspiring entrepreneur can learn from the Amini brothers: If you're trying to raise money, make sure you have a solid elevator pitch — and business plan.

Christian Bale's Original Batman Audition Tape Shows Him Wearing The Batsuit From 'Batman Forever'

Tomorrow, Warner Bros. is releasing the ultimate collector's edition of "The Dark Knight" trilogy.

Ahead of its release, a clip of Christian Bale's original audition tape to play the Caped Crusader has hit the web.

What's cool — other than seeing original test footage — is that Amy Adams can be seen performing the screen-test with him.

Many often make fun of the voice that Batbale adopted in the trilogy. However, director Christopher Nolan briefly details in the clip that Bale's need for a different voice heavily influenced his casting.

"I think Christian's voice was a part of the big impression he made in the test," says Nolan. "He had decided that Batman needed to have a different voice to Bruce Wayne … that he needed to put on a different voice."

Also — Bonus points if you noticed that Bale is wearing what looks to be one of Val Kilmer's Batsuits that he wore in "Batman Forever." It's just spray-painted black.

Here's Batbale:

Paramount CEO bel air mansion Brad Grey

Paramount Pictures Chairman and CEO Brad Grey is selling his 10,600-square-foot Bel Air mansion for $27.5 million, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Grey originally bought the home back in 2009 for $22 million, but he and his new wife Cassandra Grey have decided to build a modern mansion on the former Frank Sinatra estate he also owns in Holmby Hills — and had previously listed last year.

Grey's broker Stephen Shapiro of the Westside Estate Agency told The WSJ the $5.5 million price jump comes from work Grey has done on the home, including re-landscaping, renovating the dining room, and adding a sitting room upstairs.

The white brick house sits on 1.1 acres of land, with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It's also surrounded by tall hedges rising 20 to 50 feet, and has a terraced pool area in the backyard.

12 Summer Movies That Smashed Expectations

$

0

we're the millers jennifer aniston

Earlier this month we brought you the biggest box-office bombs of the summer.

Considering the summer generated a record $4.7 billion it's only fair also to look at the films that performed well.

There were plenty of them.

Note: These are not the highest-grossing films of the summer. This list is made up of the movies that surprised and exceeded expectations.

Other notable films include Disney Toons film "Planes" — an obvious spinoff of Pixar's "Cars" — earned $139 million worldwide when it only cost an estimated $50 million.

Seth Rogen's "This is the End" grossed $118 million on an estimated $32 million budget.

"Monsters University" doesn't appear on this list, because the film was expected to follow the Pixar streak of success. The "Monsters Inc." prequel had the second-largest opening of any Pixar movie ever behind 2010's "Toy Story 3."

There was no surprise that "Iron Man 3" fared well at theaters, but it wasn't expected to have the second-highest opening weekend of all time.

12. "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" (Lionsgate / Summit)

Release date: July 3
Estimated budget: n/a
Opening weekend: $10 million
Worldwide gross: $32.2 million

While others were distracted with "Despicable Me 2" and "The Lone Ranger" bomb, Kevin Hart's second comedy movie snuck in to become the second-largest opening weekend for a comedy film. Now, it's the fourth highest-grossing stand-up comedy movies ahead of Martin Lawrence's 2002 Paramount film.

(Source: Box Office Mojo)

11. "Instructions Not Included" (Lionsgate)

Release date: August 30 (September 6, wide release)
Estimated budget: $5 million
Opening weekend: $7.8 million
Worldwide gross: $28.3 million

Chances are you never heard about this Spanish indie dramedy. While the end of summer was extremely slow, no one was talking about the film that follows a former Mexican playboy raising his daughter by himself. "Instructions" grossed $7.8 million its first weekend from only 348 theaters. During its wide release the following weekend, the film nearly beat out "Lee Daniels' The Butler" to take the second spot atop the box-office top ten.

(Source: IMDB pro / Box Office Mojo)

10. "Lee Daniels' The Butler" (The Weinstein Company)

Release date: August 16
Estimated budget: $30 million
Opening weekend: $24.6 million
Worldwide gross: $104.8 million

A silly name change didn't hurt Lee Daniels' film. Warner Bros. made a big stink over the rights to the title "The Butler" (they have a 1916 short by the same name) resulting in a long, exhaustive change. But if anything, the complaint produced more media hype for Weinstein's film and probably helped ticket sales.

TWC made a smart decision to move this film up from an initial October release to August when the box office is otherwise sluggish. The change resulted in the film being atop the box office five weeks straight. In its fourth week — Labor Day weekend — while most were talking about the "Getaway" bomb, "Butler" made a surge and actually beat out every new release. It's now one of TWC's highest-grossing films behind Oscar-nominated "Silver Linings Playbook."

The Entire 'Breaking Bad' Cast Spills Secrets On 'Conan'

breaking bad conan

"Breaking Bad" fans were in for a treat if they tuned into "Conan" last night.

The entire cast and creator of AMC's hit show dropped by for a special "Breaking Bad" themed episode of the late night show.

Conan O'Brien even had the band Los Cuates de Sinaloa on to perform the song "Negro y Azul" from season 2 at the show's end.

It's difficult to pick out one break out moment because the entire episode was a must-see for any fan.

Here are some of the highlights:

Bryan Cranston read his favorite (creepy) erotic fan letter.

The letter asking for a weird sexual favor from the actor and his co-star Aaron Paul.

"You know when a letter starts out with, 'I have never been diagnosed with any psychotic disorders ...'" says Cranston.

Betsy Brandt, who plays Marie, admits she is a klepto just like her "Breaking Bad" character.

Brandt defended her actions to Conan.

"A. I don't think it's stealing if I think it's something you should have and B. I stole a spoon on Saturday and I put it in my little glittery handbag for the Emmys and then we won."

She says it's a tradition she'll need to keep up now.

Jonathan Banks (Mike) argued with writers over his character's grammar on the series.

Banks felt his character should speak properly. He mentioned one of the fights was over the correct use of "who" vs. "whom."

You can check out the full episode here.

Kanye West Says 'I'm The No. 1 Rock Star On The Planet' In Crazy BBC Interview

Kanye West BBC InterviewKanye West isn't afraid to toot his own horn in interviews.

The rapper's latest sit down chat with BBC Radio 1 personality Zane Lowe was no different.

Throughout an hourlong conversation, 36-year-old West called himself "the No. 1 rock star on the planet" and said he's even succeeded the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

"I've got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity ... and I've been at it for 10 years," he told Lowe. "I look around and I say, 'Wait a minute. There's no one around here in that looks like me. And if they are, they're quiet as f--k.' So that means, wait a second  now we're seriously like, in a civil rights movement."

He didn't stop there.

"Rap is the new rock 'n' roll. We the rock stars," West exclaimed. "We the new rock stars and I'm the biggest of all of them. I'm the No. 1 rock star on the planet."

One person West does have respect for? His Watch The Throne tour mate, Jay-Z.

"Jay Z is more realized than me. More of his dreams and aspirations have come true," West admits. "You don't realize  I am so frustrated. Like, I've got so much I want to give ... And I've got a million people telling me why I can't do it."

West cites his sneaker line as an example.

"I shouldn't be limited to only one place of creativity," he lamented. "You guys don't understand  I did the Air Yeezys and they eBay'd for $90,000 ... but I didn't get a call from Nike the next day."

But West also gives some credit to his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, who has given him a new family life.

"She gave me everything, she gave me family, she gave me a support system," the rapper revealed. "She was in a powerful enough situation where she could love me without asking me for money, which is really hard for me to find."

If You Bought The Final Season Of 'Breaking Bad' On iTunes, Apple Just Gave You A $22 Credit

breaking bad

"Breaking Bad" fans who purchased a season pass for its final season on iTunes may have noticed that they were only able to watch the first eight episodes.

The show's most recent season was split in half by AMC and shown over a two-year period. Since it appeared to look like two separate seasons, users were charged the cost of half of a season pass to watch the first eight episodes, and then charged again to watch the remaining eight.

Even though the passes were priced accordingly, it was unclear to users that they had to complete two financial transactions to view the entire season.

Feeling scammed by this, an Ohio man, Noam Lazebnik, filed a class action lawsuit against Apple for failing to provide iTunes users who purchased a season pass for "Breaking Bad" with the entire season.

Apple caved and provided those affected with an iTunes voucher.

According to MacRumors, this is the email Apple has sent out:

We apologize for any confusion the naming of "Season 5" and "The Final Season" of Breaking Bad might have caused you. While the names of the seasons and episodes associated with them were not chosen by iTunes, we'd like to offer you "The Final Season" on us by providing you with the iTunes code below in the amount of $22.99. This credit can also be used for any other content on the iTunes Store. Thank you for your purchase.

Piers Morgan Says ‘It’s Over For Jon Stewart’

Jon Stewart CNN

During Sunday night's Emmy Awards, Stephen Colbert's "Colbert Report" ended "The Daily Show's" 10-year winning streak — the longest in history — for Outstanding Variety Series.

CNN's Piers Morgan, who was watching from home, decided to take the opportunity to jab his recent rival, "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart:

While Colbert got his start as a correspondent on "The Daily Show," what Morgan may not have realized is that Stewart is an executive producer on "The Colbert Report" — so technically he also won.

Colbert even thanked his “friend and brother” Jon Stewart during his acceptance speech, signifying there is no bad blood between the two.

But Morgan's disdain for Stewart goes back further than just Sunday night, stemming back to the Comedy Central host's frequent criticism of CNN coverage.

Just last week, Stewart destroyed CNN's 'Breathless Wrongness' coverage of the Navy Yard shooting.

Morgan subsequently tweeted at the time:

Fans were quick to come to Stewart's defense:

Stewart has yet to issue a response, but we're betting Morgan's tweets won't stop him from mocking CNN's coverage.

All Of The Science On 'The Big Bang Theory' Is Real

big bang theory jim parsons equations

Fans of the "Big Bang Theory" can rejoice as the seventh season of the CBS show kicks off Thursday.

The series, following the lives of four nerdy, socially awkward scientists* is the most-watched comedy on television and loved for its geeky references.

Viewers also know it's inundated with a ton of physics jargon. Most episodes include a whiteboard with scientific equations can be found in the background of Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) apartment.

However, is it real?

Yes.

UCLA Physics professor Dr. David Saltzberg has worked as a science consultant on the show since 2007.

Saltzberg does everything from calculating science experiments for the crew to checking the accuracy of jokes on the series, according to NPR.

david saltzberg big bang theoryThe professor's job also includes reviewing unfinished scripts that contain brackets reading "Insert Science Here."

Saltzberg says he landed the role after receiving a call from a friend who's an astrophysicist at University of Hawaii saying sitcom creators were searching for a physicist.

Originally the show's co-creators and executive producers Bill Prady and Chuck Lorre came to Saltzberg looking for a grad student to fill the consultant role.

"If we're going to write about geniuses, we better damn well have one around," said Lorre in an interview.

When something is outside of the physics realm, Saltzberg gets advice from star Mayim Bialik.

Bialik has a PhD in neuroscience to complement her neuroscientist character, Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler.

And all the math work on the whiteboards in the background? That's Saltzberg's doing as well.

From NPR:

"He makes sure the whiteboards are correct. For every new episode, they're covered by a fresh scrawl of formulas dreamed up by Saltzberg and admired by physicists for their scrupulous accuracy — and occasional shoutouts to what's happening in the world of science."

They've become something of a fan favorite with Saltzberg often receiving feedback on the equations from viewers.

So when tuning in Thursday, make sure to look out for the white boards in the background.

Watch an interview below with Saltzberg:

*Simon Helberg's character Howard Walowitz isn't technically a scientist as he's the only one of the group who doesn't have a PhD. Rather, he's an engineer.

Samuel L. Jackson Slams Obama: 'Stop Trying To Relate And Be More Presidential'

Samuel L Jackson

Actor Samuel L. Jackson has been one of President Obama's most steadfast supporters, even starring in a 2012 campaign ad called "Wake The F--- Up!"

But in the upcoming October issue of Playboy, the highest-grossing actor of all time criticizes the president, telling the leader to “stop trying to ‘relate’” to the public and “be f---ing presidential.”

After revealing he is known as the "grammar police" on Twitter, the Playboy interviewer asks Jackson what he thinks about “President Obama or other highly educated Americans consciously drop[ping] gs off the ends of words to sound like Joe Average.”

"First of all, we know it ain’t because of his blackness, so I say stop trying to 'relate.' Be a leader. Be f---ing presidential," the star says heatedly.

Jackson continues, "Look, I grew up in a society where I could say 'It ain’t' or 'What it be' to my friends. But when I’m out presenting myself to the world as me, who graduated from college, who had family who cared about me, who has a well-read background, I f---ing conjugate."

Playboy then asks the actor about his militant revolutionary background and his comments last year that he wanted President Obama to “get scary."

Jackson says he was pleased when "[Obama] got a little heated about the kids getting killed in Newtown and about the gun law," but says the prez is "still a safe dude."

The actor then continues his political rant by asking, "How do we fix the fact that politicians aren’t trying to serve the people, they’re just trying to serve their party and their closed ideals? How do we find a way to say, 'You motherf---ers are fired because you’re not doing shit about taking care of the country?'"

He adds, "If Hillary Clinton decides to run, she’s going to kick their f---ing asses, and those motherf---ers would rather see the country go down in flames than let the times change. But as I tell my daughter, there was a time we would be in the streets about this sh--."

Despite being an avid user of social media and having nearly 3 million followers on Twitter, Jackson says that signing petitions on Facebook and Twitter won't get things accomplished the way physical protests used to.

"You need to have your physical body out there in the streets and let these people — and the rest of the world — know. When our antiwar movement led the world, it was because people could see us in the streets, see our faces, hear the protest music," he explains.

"You can’t do that sh-- blogging in a room. I can’t see you on your keyboard. I can’t see you sitting there in the dark. Things happen when people get out in the street."

La Vie d'Adele Blue is the warmest color

"Blue Is The Warmest Color" won the top honor — the Palme d'Or — at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes Jury President Steven Spielberg called the film "a profound love story" and said "we just were really happy that someone had the courage to tell this story the way he [director Abdellatif Kechiche] did."

But soon after the film swept the festival, controversy surrounding the movie emerged.

The leading actresses, who have a graphic lesbian sex scene that took 10 days to shoot, said the filming experience was so physically taxing that they would never work with the director again.

Then the writer of the novel on which the film is based blasted the movie as porn.

And now even the director himself is slamming the film, saying he wants nothing to do with it.

"According to me, the film shouldn't be released. It has been soiled too much," Kechiche told French magazine Telerama, as translated by Vulture. "The Palme d'Or had been a brief moment of happiness; then I've felt humiliated, dishonored, I felt rejected, I live it like I'm cursed."

The film opens stateside October 25. Watch the trailer for the controversial film below:

You Should Be Nervous When 'Shark Tank' Investors Are This Excited About A Deal

shark tank sweet ballz

On Friday’s premiere of the fifth season of ABC’s reality pitch show “Shark Tank,” pitches ranged from what Mark Cuban called the worst in the history of the show to one so enticing every Shark wanted a piece of it.

Sweet Ballz, a packaged food startup by Dallas-based entrepreneurs James McDonald and Cole Egger, swept all five Sharks into a competitive bidding war that ultimately forced the entrepreneurs to choose who they wanted as an investor — a rare yet flattering place to be. However, with so much interest in their company, they may have given up too much too soon.

The entrepreneurs initially asked for $250,000 in exchange for 10% of their company, which would value the company at $2.5 million. The Sweet Ballz business is selling packaged cake balls that come in packs of four in flavors like red velvet, chocolate, and cookies and cream. It capitalizes on the trend of the cake pop, but the balls come without the stick and a 45-day shelf life.

“Which one of you is ready to make some sweet, sweet dough with our Sweet Ballz?” McDonald asked.

Screen Shot 2013 09 23 at 11.20.57 AMThe Sharks were clearly intrigued and raved about the taste. They peppered the business owners with questions, and McDonald and Egger didn’t disappoint. The packs retail for $1.99 to $2.49 each, but cost only 86 cents to make. They are already sold at 7-Eleven, one of the largest convenience stores in America, and since 95% of their sales are from 7-Eleven, there’s plenty of room to grow distribution.

If the Sharks weren’t already hooked, their eyes grew even wider when the business owners said they’d done $700,000 in sales in the past 90 days and had profits of $95,000.

“Things are going great for you,” said investor Robert Herjavec. “Why are you here?”

That question alone should have tipped the business owners off that they had something of obvious value to the Sharks. Egger said the investment would go a long way towards growing the business and its distribution points.

Then the feeding frenzy began. Barbara Corcoran offered $250,000 for a 40% stake, and Kevin O’Leary undercut it with the same offer but for a 30% stake. Lori Greiner jumped in with an offer for a 36% stake, saying it comes with her QVC network.

Screen Shot 2013 09 23 at 12.56.08 PMSoon the panel of five Sharks, who had devolved into bickering over which one has the best network, divided themselves into two offers: Cuban and Corcoran would go in together at $250,000 for a 25% stake; and O’Leary, Greiner, and Herjavec jointly offered $250,000 for a 30% stake. They asked, Who do you want to work with?

It was a strong move on the Sharks’ part — one parents use often. Give someone only two options, and you ensure they’ll end up choosing something you’ve sanctioned.

In this case, the business owners chose Cuban and Corcoran, an investment that values their company at $1 million. When the business owners walked away pumping their fists and celebrating, they seemed to have forgotten that they were initially seeking a valuation of $2.5 million.

They have a hot business, and it will surely get hotter with a large cash infusion and powerful investors behind them. But they also just gave away a quarter of their business in what seems a fire-sale deal for the Sharks. “I think they made a mistake,” said O’Leary as the credits rolled.

Rapper M.I.A. flipping the middle finger during the Superbowl

The NFL is suing singer M.I.A. for flashing the middle finger during the Super Bowl halftime show two years ago.

She wasn't paid for the performance, but the NFL is still suing her for $1.5 million for breach of contract. The league is arguing that she knowingly violated her contract by undermining the "reputation for wholesomeness enjoyed by the NFL."

In an interview that popped up on YouTube today (via Deadspin), she slammed the league and called the lawsuit an attempt to storm-arm her into publicly apologizing, something she characterized as "powerful corporation d***-shaking."

She also touched on the simple reason why the lawsuit is so silly — the middle finger isn't that big of a deal, especially considering how oversexualized the halftime show has become.

Here's her entire video, in which she is wearing an L.A. Raiders sweatshirt:
