A Game Store Allegedly Gave Away Fake Cocaine At A 'Grand Theft Auto V' Launch Event

An EB Games in Australia was allegedly caught giving away fake cocaine at a midnight launch event for Rockstar Games' "Grand Theft Auto V."

The story came out via the r/gaming section of Reddit. A user (who has since deleted his/her Reddit account but kept the picture live on imgur) posted a photo of the sales desk covered with packets and prepared lines of white powder with the title "Local EB Games (Australia) giving out free "cocaine" for all GTA V preorders."

The photo:

eb games cocaine

According to Kotaku's Mark Serrels, this was a decision made by the management at the store and no one at the EB Games corporate office knew of the "promotion."

Not exactly the image most people would want to attach to a retailer frequented by children. Nor is it the image Rockstar Games would like attached to "Grand Theft Auto V," which had a budget of $266 million - that's larger than most Hollywood blockbusters - and received an R18+ rating in Australia.

That's the equivalent of an AO (Adults Only) rating here in the United States. The reason you haven't seen many games with that rating is parents aren't as likely to buy their kids a game that says it's for those over 18 as they are to buy an M-rated game (the equivalent of an R-rating for movies). Hearing that the game comes with (fake) real-life drugs is only going to turn away more of those potential sales.

University Removes 500-Pound Pendulum From Campus After Students Keep Imitating Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' Video

Grand Valley State University

A giant public art pendulum on the Grand Valley State University campus has been removed after too many students attempted to replicate Miley Cyrus'  "Wrecking Ball" music video, Total Frat Move reports.

In the "Wrecking Ball" video, Cyrus swings across the screen nude while riding a wrecking ball, which looks strikingly similar to the one formerly at GVSU. Over the last week, GVSU students have been sharing their "Wrecking Ball" tributes over several social media sites — including some done while nude.

A student-run GVSU Twitter account quotes a dean saying"the ball has been taken down due to the safety hazard of people riding on it."

The pendulum was designed by acclaimed large-scale sculptor Dale Eldred, and had been a part of GVSU's large public art collection for 40 years. According to the blog Midwest Guest, "The 500-pound pendulum's movement causes its sharp point to etch designs in the sand below it."

Here are some of the best GVSU "Wrecking Ball" tributes (all relatively SFW):

Removing a 500 pound pendulum does not look like an easy task:

For reference, here's Cyrus' original video:

Panicked Producers Relocate 'Homeland' Israel Shoots Over Syria Fears

Showtime's "Homeland" planned to shoot the majority of its third season in Israel, but production has been relocated to Morocco over concerns about the political situation in Syria.

Over the weekend, the American producers told the Israeli production company that was arranging locations and shoots that they would be filming in Morocco instead because of security fears, reports Israeli news outlet Ynet.

"We were already getting organized, we even received scripts, and in the end we were told that the shooting had been moved. It's frustrating," a source with knowledge of the details told Ynet.

According to their estimates, the Israeli production company reportedly lost hundreds of thousands of shekels following the change in location.

Fears of a Syrian retaliation over potential military action by the U.S. have been growing in Israel, and Morocco is seen as a more stable location.

It's not a surprising location change considering "Homeland" creators Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff are working on another project, a separate series called "Tyrant," also set to be filmed in Morocco.

Bit this isn't the first time "Homeland" has faced controversy abroad.

The Emmy-winning show was criticised last year by Lebanese tourism officials for portraying Beirut as a city packed with terrorists and showing an area looking rundown and dangerous — when in fact it is filled with luxury boutiques.

Homeland is scheduled to return for a third season on Sept. 29. Watch the trailer below:

Police Officer Allegedly Made 'Inappropriate' Remarks About Whitney Houston's Dead Body

Whitney Houston

A policeman lifted a sheet covering the just-dead body of singing legend Whitney Houston and made "inappropriate" comments including saying "Damn, she's still looking good, huh?" another officer claims.

Beverly Hills Detective Sergeant Terry Nutall had "no legitimate" reason for the action or remarks, made at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11 last year, after she had been found dead in a bath, said a legal document filed by the fellow cop, published Tuesday.

A coroner subsequently ruled that the 48-year-old singing legend died of accidental drowning, with cocaine and heart disease listed as contributing factors, on the eve of last year's Grammys show.

In the legal claim, published by the Los Angeles Times, fellow officer Sergeant Brian Weir alleges that he was stripped of various privileges when he raised the alleged misconduct with superiors.

"Nutall, for no legitimate (reason) knelt beside and leaned over the decedent (and) removed the sheet and/or other covering from the body of the decedent to an area below the pubic region of the decedent's body," it said.

He then "came in close proximity to touching the body .. while making inappropriate comments to the effect .. that the decedent 'looked attractive for a woman of her age and current state' and 'Damn, she's still looking good, huh?'"

"Nutall... treated the dead body of the decedent in a way that Nutall knew would outrage ordinary family sensibilities," he alleged in the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on September 11.

Weir said he responded to the Beverly Hilton Hotel -- where Houston was due to attend a traditional pre-Grammys party that Saturday evening -- as the senior patrol sergeant on duty at the time.

Afterwards, he raised the alleged misconduct with superiors, but claims that the city of Beverly Hills and its Police Department "retaliated" by removing him from duty with SWAT and K-9 units, cutting overtime pay, withdrawing certain privileges and harassing him.

Weir "has sustained and will continue to sustain economic and non-economic damages. including emotional distress and damage to claimant's reputation, and other injury, damage, loss, or harm," said the lawsuit.

Beverly Hills Police spokesman Lincoln Hoshino said there was no "retaliation" against Weir over the claim, which he said the department knew about.

He added that Nutall had been entitled to look at the body.

"The responding detective sergeant in question was working in the city of Beverly Hills on another assignment, and he did properly and appropriately respond to the scene," he told the LA Times.

"It is appropriate for a responding detective sergeant to briefly examine the body upon arriving to a scene like that."

And he added: "At this time we're not aware of any inappropriate behavior or inappropriate comments."

A 42-page coroner's report issued in April last year said Houston drowned face down in her bathtub at the famous Beverly Hills hotel, possibly after overdosing on drugs and alcohol.

Various bottles were found in the hotel room -- in all some 12 medications prescribed by five different doctors, including anxiety treatment Xanax and the potent corticosteroid Prednisone, the report said.

The singer of hits such as "I Will Always Love You" sold more than 170 million records during a nearly three-decade career, but also fought a long battle against substance abuse.

Sunday night's episode of "Breaking Bad" was by far one of the best hours of television we've ever seen.

There are only two episodes left. If you're still blown away by this week's episode "Ozymandias" or can't wait until next week for more, director Rian Johnson ("Looper," "Brick") tweeted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the making of the episode.

Johnson previously directed Season 3 episode 10 "Fly" and Season 5 episode 4 "Fifty-One" in addition to "Ozymandias."

The mostly black-and-white photos are a must-see for any fan of the series.

The crew love having fun on set.

Johnson has since shared on Twitter that his favorite day of shooting was from the final day in the desert with the RV.

'Grand Theft Auto V' Has Its Own Amazing Facebook And Twitter Parodies

"Grand Theft Auto V" came out yesterday, and while storyline mode is great, we're busy finding a bunch of the cool Easter Eggs in the game.

Rockstar, who developed the game, loves throwing in a bunch of company and product parodies (iFruit stands in for Apple products).

Among them is GTA's own version of Facebook and Twitter on the game's fake Internet service.

Both are extremely thorough and detailed parodies.

Life Invader fills in for Facebook.

The description for the site is: "The reason the world never gets anything done any more."

You can view your friends.

And head to their pages, too.

life invader gta VInstead of "likes," you "stalk" brands.

Rockstar Games went as far as creating a real companion site for Life Invader.

Bleeter is GTA's version of Twitter which uses sheep in place of birds.

bleeter gta vHere's the game's description of the service:

"Information isn't about imparting knowledge anymore. The Internet changed all that.

Welcome to world of self aggrandizing shorthand. Keep strangers and people you hated in high school up to speed with every mundane detail of your life 24/7. Welcome the the delusion of having an interesting life and friends.

BBC news reporter Simon McCoy left many TV watchers in the United Kingdom confused today when he appeared on screen holding a stack of paper.

There was no explanation during the show as to why McCoy was holding the paper. However, a BBC spokesperson later confirmed to the Daily Mirror that no, McCoy was not supposed to be holding the stack of paper, and that he had somehow mistaken it for his iPad.

"This morning as Simon McCoy was preparing to introduce this story, instead of picking up his tablet to hold as he went to air, he mistakenly picked up a ream of paper that was sitting next to it," the spokesperson confirmed.

"In the rush of live news, he didn't have an opportunity to swap the items, so simply went with it."

7 Cliches The Sharks Always Use On ‘Shark Tank’

$
0
0

Sharks from ReutersIn the build up to the premier of the fifth season of ABC’s reality pitch show “Shark Tank” this week, we decided to take a look at all the catch phrases, cliches, buzzwords, and business jargon used on the show.

We weren’t disappointed. “Shark Tank” turns out to be a melting pot of colorful lingo, propagated mostly by the Sharks themselves.

With the help of Andrew Figgins, a Chicago-based entrepreneur and owner of the fan site InTheSharkTank.com, we compiled the following list of the most common always used by the Sharks (we’re looking at you, Mark Cuban):

1. “You’re not an entrepreneur; you’re a want-repreneur.”

Cuban first and most memorably said this in season three to Amanda Schlecter, founder of the Ledge Pillow, a pillow designed to help women recovering from breast surgery or with large breasts lay comfortably on their stomachs. The statement has since been adopted by many of the Sharks in response to what they view as sub-par pitches.

Translation: You don’t seem willing to put in the time and effort it takes to make a company succeed.

2. “Follow the green, not the dream.”

Cuban used this gem most recently in season four with Erica Cohen and Lori Barbera of Baby's Badass Burgers, a bright pink food truck that sells gourmet burgers (motto: "Come for the burgers, stay for the buns"). Because the truck had steady sales, the pair wanted to open a traditional restaurant. Cuban advised that they stick to what they know.

Translation: Focus on what’s working, rather than expanding into a new business venture just for the sake of expanding.

3. “I need more skin in the game.”

Most of the Sharks have used this at one time or another, though Cuban probably the most, when they want a higher equity stake. Cuban said it to Mike Hartwick and Sarah Ponn of Surfset Fitness, a surf-focused exercise equipment and classes provider. They asked for $150,000 for a 10% stake, but Cuban wanted more “skin in the game” and offered $300,000 for 33%.

Translation: I’m willing to put more of my money on the line to get a better deal.

4. “That’s a Slick Willie move.”

Daymond John nicknames any entrepreneur who isn’t forthright with their answers or changes valuations mid-pitch a Slick Willie. When Michael Tseng, creator of the food-storage invention PlateTopper, changed his company valuation from about $2 million to $15 million in the midst of talking to the Sharks, John deemed it “a Slick Willie move.”

Translation: You’ve been deceptive and lost my trust.

5. “I’m starting my 24-second shot clock.”

Borrowed from his basketball background, Cuban says this when he wants to pressure an entrepreneur to make a decision quickly. He used the shot clock in the third season with Mark and Hanna Lim of Lollacup, a pediatrician-approved sippy cup, and ended up making a deal. Other Sharks have also used and sped up the shot clock. Lori Greiner once reduced it to two seconds.

Translation: You have the next few seconds to make a deal.

6. “You’re dead to me.”

This is the Kevin O’Leary go-to response when contestants turn down his offers. In the first season, when Paul Watts of Graffiti Removal Services dismissed the deal for a majority stake in his business, which would make Watts a mere employee of his own company, O’Leary said: "You're dead to me if you turn around." He did and walked right out the door.

Translation: That’s my final offer, and I don’t renegotiate.

7. “Is the business scalable?”

From the annals of business speak, this is the most-often used jargon trotted out by Sharks on the show. Essentially, they’re asking if contestants can handle more than their initial success and put systems in place for consistent growth. It’s an important concept, but an annoying cliche.

Translation: Will you be able to meet increased demand and grow revenue quickly and easily?

Seth MacFarlane's Offensive New TV Show 'Dads' Is Getting Ripped Apart By Critics

Dads Fox

After much negative hype, the Seth MacFarlane-produced live action sitcom "Dads" — starring Giovanni Ribisi, Seth Green and Vanessa Lachey  premiered last night on Fox to a solid 5.6 million viewers.

But the half-hour comedy was just as racist and inappropriate as the trailer.

Fox president Kevin Reilly knew the backlash was coming and warned media at the Television Critics Association press tour in August not to judge the show based only on the first episode.

"The thing about 'Dads' that I really ask you to put in context. That's a pilot," Reilly pleaded. "You know the lineage of these writers. They come out of 'Family Guy.' They are the best writers. These guys are going to try to test a lot of boundaries. They are going to try to be equal-opportunity offenders."

And offend they did.

Critics had a field day describing just how terrible and offensive the "Dads" pilot came across. In fact, we couldn't find a kind review in the bunch.

Read a round up of the most scathing reviews below:

The Wall Street Journal, Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Dads’ Is Bad–But Could It Have Been Worse?

"What makes 'Dads' so deeply and fundamentally racist is that it is MacFarlane’s entitlement fantasy, in which the only castmembers of color are women who exist to serve and service the spoiled little boys’ club at the show’s core."

Mother Jones, "Is 'Dads' the Year's Most Racist Sitcom?"

"If you'd like my personal opinion of 'Dads,' I'd say that the real problem does not lie with any ethnic or racial stereotypes, but with the fact that it is unoriginal and often a painfully unfunny, lazy waste of production space."

AP/HuffPost, "How Bad Is 'Dads'? Is Seth MacFarlane's Fox Comedy The Worst Of The Season?"

"The truth is, viewers who celebrate MacFarlane as well as those who revile him should be equally dismayed by 'Dads.' It's just a mediocre multi-camera sitcom, complete with formula humor and unearned laughtrack. It's not even the worst newcomer on the fall schedule (that teeth-grinding honor would probably go to CBS' "The Crazy Ones"). Did MacFarlane really have a role in 'Dads'? His hand in the squalid process is barely noticeable."

The Hollywood Reporter, "It's Not Just Fox's 'Dads' - Can Any Show Bank on Patience in This TV Landscape?"

"In the case of 'Dads,' the pilot is terrible ... Not only is the show not funny, it has heavily racist overtones for Asians ... There's a stink to it. It's multi-camera on a network that doesn't really do multi-cams. The laugh track is annoying."

USA Today, "'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' vs. 'Dads': Go with the cops"

"If the two whiny sons and their equally unlikable fathers aren't enough to push you away, the boorish childishness of the show's obvious efforts to offend should do the trick."

E! Online, "Seth MacFarlane’s New Fox Show Dads Is Awkward and Offensive—So Why Are We Laughing?"

"A funny thing happened on the way to writing this review eviscerating Seth MacFarlane's 'Dads' as the worst new comedy of the fall. Fox sent a screener of the second episode of 'Dads' and the unthinkable happened: I laughed. Out loud. Twice. I then had to shower, burn some demon-evicting sage and take a long, hard look at myself in the mirror to make sure I had not been possessed because there really is no way to dispute it: 'Dads' is still the worst new comedy of the fall...

The show makes every attempt to shatter political correctness at every turn. But instead of feeling provocative (like maybe 'Girls' or 'Louie') this network-TV version has taken MacFarlane's deeply edgy humor and combined it with a laugh track (say whaa?), making it feel like an awkward 90's sitcom.

New York Times, "Comparing ‘Mom,’ on CBS, and ‘Dads,’ on Fox"

"Material that is meant to be anarchic mostly comes across as obvious and boorish."

The Wrap, "‘Dads’ Review: Hitler, Jew Jokes and Asian Schoolgirls, but No Laughs."

"You’ve probably read by now about how offensive 'Dads' is. That’s giving the show too much credit. To offend, you have to be taken seriously, and there’s nothing in 'Dads' worth worrying about. The dads say racist, sexist, anti-Semitic things, but they’re so pathetic and helpless that it’s impossible to care .. That leaves us with nothing to laugh at in 'Dads.'"

Entertainment Weekly, "So, just how racist is Fox's 'Dads'?"

"You could argue that 'Dads' is also a cartoon about dumb guys — but the difference is that we’re asked to laugh along with them, not at them ... The show ends up reinforcing the same stereotypes that make these misguided old guys look stupid."

A.V. Club, "Dads: TV review"

"What becomes rapidly clear is that 'Dads' may be racist and sexist, but it’s not racist and sexist by design. Instead, bad execution makes it so ... A dog of a show."

LA Times, "Is Seth MacFarlane's 'Dads' worst-reviewed show of fall TV season?"

"Give Seth MacFarlane credit for uniting America's cranky TV critics. They all seem to hate his new sitcom 'Dads.'"

Here's the trailer for "Dads," which features much of the controversial material seen in the pilot. Judge for yourself:

The Famous Training Run That Rocky Goes On In 'Rocky II' Would Have Actually Been 30 Miles Long

rocky run montage

Dan McQuade of Philadelphia Magazine did the world a great service today by mapping the route Rocky Balboa must have taken during the training montage the culminates in him climbing the Art Museum steps in "Rocky II."

It turns out that Rocky would have had to run a hilariously long 30.5 miles.

In addition, the route he took was both dangerous and nonsensical. For instance:

  • He runs right past the Italian Market, only to turn around and run through it a few miles later.
  • He runs through a cars-only tunnel that seems to be an accident waiting to happen.
  • He skips Center City on his way from South Philly to North Philly, only to double back later in the run.
  • The kids that start following him had to keep up with him for 12 MILES.

Head over to Philly Magazine to read McQuad's entire post, which includes some excellent GIFs and screenshots. Here's the final map. It makes no sense:

While on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" earlier this week, Affleck explained that Warner Bros. warned him the casting news may not go over well with fanboys. To prep him, they showed him reactions previous cast members received and told him not to go on the Internet for a few days.

Affleck shrugged it off, saying he wasn't too worried.

"I'm a big boy," says Affleck."If I can handle an Emmy snub, I can handle anything."

Model Emily Ratajkowski

How about now?

Emily Ratajkowski

Yup, you know the one.

Up until now, 21-year-old Ratajkowski is most famous for appearing butt naked in Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" song-of-the-summer music video.

But that's all about to change.

The British-born, California-raised Ratajkowski has just been cast opposite Ben Affleck in "Social Network" director David Fincher's highly anticipated "Gone Girl," based on Gillian Fynn's best-selling mystery novel.

The model-turned-actress will play Andie, the college student mistress of the married Nick Dunne, played by Affleck.

The film also stars Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Patrick Fugit.

Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea are producing “Gone Girl” through their Pacific Standard banner along with Leslie Dixon. Production on the film starts this fall, reports The Wrap.

While this is Ratajkowski's first major screen role, she previously appeared on Nickelodeon's "iCarly" as Tasha, starred in ads for

'Grand Theft Auto V' Breaks Records, Earning More Money In One Day Than 'Fast & Furious 6' Made All Summer

$

gta v

It looks like the hefty price tag of $266 million + on developing and marketing "Grand Theft Auto V" definitely paid off.

Take-Two Interactive, which owns GTA creator Rockstar Games, announced that the fifth installment of the game earned more than $800 million after one day of sales.

$800 MILLION.

Let's think about how big that number is.

"Iron Man 3," the largest movie of the summer has earned $805 million overseas since May — and another $409 million domestically.

"Fast & Furious 6" grossed $788 million worldwide, helping Universal earn $2 billion for the first time ever overseas.

It took last year's "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" (CoD BO2) 15 days to earn $1 billion

At this rate, GTA V should surpass this number by the end of the week.

According to Take-Two, more than 8,300 stores opened at midnight to sell the game.

The game has already beaten CoD BO 2 to become the fastest selling video game in the UK with 1.57 million copies sold (£65m). That's the equivalent to roughly $104 million.

Sold for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms, a copy of the game sells for $59.99 (plus tax).

Collector's editions for the game cost $79.99 and tax. An exclusive GameStop edition sells for $150.

Given those two prices, anywhere from 10-12 million copies have been sold.

NEW YORK (AP) — Walt Disney Pictures has pushed the release date of the Pixar film "The Good Dinosaur" to November 2015, leaving the Pixar cupboard bare for next year.

The 3-D film had been planned to hit theaters in May before Disney's announcement Wednesday.

It means that 2014 will be the first year since 2005 to go without a new Pixar movie.

"The Good Dinosaur" imagines a world if dinosaurs never became extinct. The production has been rocky, with director Bob Peterson exiting the film last month. A replacement hasn't been named.

Pixar's "Finding Nemo" sequel, "Finding Dory," has been pushed from November 2015 to June 2016. Planned for summer 2015 is "Inside Out," a film set inside a young girl's brain.

Microsoft Is Working On More Original TV Shows For The Xbox One (MSFT)

HALO xbox steve spielberg

Microsoft has a production team in Los Angeles cooking up a bunch of original TV shows for its new video game console, Xbox One.

"They have literally hundreds of ideas that they are incubating right now," said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president at Microsoft Studios, in an interview with Bloomberg's Takashi Amano & Grace Huang.

He wouldn't reveal details.

We have yet to see if Steven Spielberg's famed original Xbox One TV series based on the Halo video will be worth watching. Or repeating. It will first air on the Xbox One device, complete with special interactive Xbox One content and Xbox One won't be here until November 22.

But Microsoft really wants to transform the living room with this device, where the one box does games, moves, music, Skype, simultaneously and melding them together.

So no matter how well received the Halo TV series is, it would make sense that Microsoft has got more original TV content planned.

Jon & Kate plus 8 Jon GosselinJon Gosselin of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" reality TV show fame was once pulling in 10 million viewers a week, living in a $1.3 million Pennsylvania home, and on every red carpet and magazine cover.

Today, Jon lives in a secluded cabin in the woods with no internet or television and gets by by waiting tables at a small restaurant nearby.

So how did Jon's life change so drastically?

"It's nearly impossible to find work," the father of eight revealed to "Entertainment Tonight."

After the couple's messy divorce and cancellation of their reality show, Jon went on a party spree in New York and Las Vegas, where he was paid to make appearances.

"I went there because it was contracted, so I could earn income to pay my attorneys to protect me in court," Jon explains. "I was living the high life because everyone was paying for it."

Now, he says, he isn't struggling to make ends meet anymore.

WikiLeaks Blasts Dreamworks' 'The Fifth Estate' Adaptation In 4,000-Word Memo

WikiLeaks is not happy with Disney and DreamWork's adaptation of the news-leaking site.

Wednesday night, a leaked script for upcoming film "The Fifth Estate" wound up online from none other than WikiLeaks.

After tweeting about the film and its lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch much of Wednesday, WikiLeaks published a complete version of the script along with a lengthy 4,000-word memo tearing apart the film bullet point by bullet point.

The script and memo were accompanied by the following tweet

"As WikiLeaks was never consulted about the Dreamworks/Disney film on us, we've given our advice for free: It's bad"

Since the film's announcement in 2011, WikiLeaks has been very vocal about the film.

Earlier this year, founder Julian Assange called the adaptation "a mass propaganda attack" after obtaining a copy of the script.

Star Benedict Cumberbatch also told New York Magazine Assange asked him not to do the film.

The memo released breaks the film down according to inaccuracies in the picture.

Here are a few of WikiLeaks' problems with "The Fifth Estate." Spoilers ahead.

1. "'The Fifth Estate' falsely implies that WikiLeaks harmed 2,000 US government informants."

2. "The film is fictional. Most of the events depicted never happened, or the people shown were not involved in them. It has real names, real places, and looks like it is covering real events, but it is still a dramatic and cinematic work, and it invents or shapes the facts to fit its narrative goals ... People should not in any way treat this film as an historical account of WikiLeaks, its activities or its personnel."

3. "'The Fifth Estate' is based on two books, both written by people who had personal and legal disputes with WikiLeaks. These are personally biased sources and are now outdated by three years. They tell only one side of the story."

4. WikiLeaks claims Assange was never in a cult which is insinuated in the film.

5. "The film falsely states that Julian Assange has been charged (with 'rape') and makes a number of other related false imputations."

6. "'The Fifth Estate' presents Julian Assange as a transparency zealot who believes everything should be made public, but this is wrong. Julian Assange believes transparency should be in proportion to power."

7. "The film makes it look like WikiLeaks was finished in 2010. Three years later, WikiLeaks is still here, has been going from strength to strength, and the issues raised in 2010 are more urgent and relevant than ever."

8. WikiLeaks points out two characters depicted in the film — Anke and Daniel — are incorrectly portrayed. The character of Daniel is mostly fictitious.

"Although the film shows several hostile interactions between Julian Assange and Anke Domscheit-Berg, in fact Julian Assange has never met or spoken with Anke."

"'The Fifth Estate' inserts a 'Daniel Domscheit-Berg' into the story for the events of 2010, during which Collateral Murder, the two sets of War Logs and Cablegate were released. The real Domscheit-Berg was not present for any of these. The character of 'Daniel' in the film is almost entirely fictitious."

Read the script here and the entire memo here.

"The Fifth Estate" will have a wide release in theaters October 18.
