SPOILER ALERT: The 37 Most Shocking Moments From Sunday's 'Breaking Bad'

$

walt scared breaking badHoly "Breaking Bad."

Sunday's episode of AMC's hit series may be the best episode of the series (until the finale of course).

We don't think there's ever been an episode that has had more cringe-worthy, jaw-dropping moments than this one.

From deaths, to an unexpected frantic knife fight and an Amber alert, the entire episode was jam-packed showing the downfall of Walter White's empire.

Even Vince Gilligan has said it's one of his favorite episodes they've ever done.

Don't read any farther unless you've seen this week's episode. Major spoilers ahead.

Instead of doing a recap or gathering everyone's responses to the episode, these are the moments everyone will be talking about.

Let's process what we watched.

1. Gomez dies.
Sad, but this was expected. At least Hank's still alive, right?

2. Hank gets a gun drawn to his head from one of Todd's uncles.
Of course, we knew this was coming.jack todd's uncle breaking bad3. Actually, the entire "Is he?" or "Isn't he?" going to shoot Hank bit.
Todd's trigger happy uncle Jack goes back and forth with the gun as Walt pleads for his brother-in-law's life.hank do what you're gonna do

4. Without hesitation, Walt offers the uncles all $80 million of his meth fortune in exchange for Hank's life.

5. Hank gets shot point blank.
Hank knew he was going to die, but he did it with his dignity intact.

(To Walt): "You're the smartest guy I ever met, and you're too stupid to see that these guy's minds were made up 10 minutes ago."

walt's face hank shot

6. Walt's slow-mo reaction to Hank getting killed before his eyes.

7. Walt gives away Jesse's hiding place to the uncles.
Walt immediately holds Jesse to blame for Hank's death. He needs to be punished from his point of view.

The uncles holds a gun to his head. In that moment, we see Jesse look absolutely terrified at his former teacher who is allowing this to happen.jesse breaking bad shot

9. Walt instead agrees the uncles can interrogate Jesse before killing him.

10. Walt tells Jesse he watched his girlfriend die.
If giving Jesse over to Todd's Nazi uncles wasn't enough, Walt rubs even more salt into the wound. We thought he would take this secret to his grave.

11. The uncles dig up Walt's $80 million.
12. They leave Walt $10 million out of respect.
13. Marie demands Skyler comes clean about everything to her son, Walt Jr., or she'll do it herself.

14. Marie is NOT wearing purple.

This is the first time we see her wearing a color other than her signature one on the show, foreshadowing what's to come.

15. Seeing Jesse beaten up bloody and raw.
But at least we don't see him tortured on screen ...
aaron paul bruised face breaking bad16. Jesse's made into a meth slave.
Todd needs someone to teach him how to get the purity of meth up. (R
emember, he has that weird puppy crush on Lydia.)

17. Learning how Todd is getting Jesse to cook meth for him.
He threatens the lives of two innocent people, Andrea and Brock.

18. Walt Jr. learns the truth about his parent's meth business.

19. Skyler, Holly, and Walt Jr. are riding frantically home, and we all desperately nervous the car will crash.
It doesn't.

20. Walt screaming at his grief-stricken and confused family to pack right away the moment they enter the house.
21. Skyler accuses Walt of killing Hank.
22. Walt Jr.'s reaction to hearing his uncle is dead.
23. Skyler grabs a knife that was shown at the beginning of the episode and we're not sure what she's going to do with it.
24. She threatens Walt to leave.
25. She then slashes her husband with a knife.

26. What ensues can only be described as the most anxiety-inducing knife fight between Walt and Skyler.
Every moment this fight continued we were certain someone wasn't going to make it out alive. However, that entire scene was really the culmination of the family.

27. Walt Jr. calls 911 on his father.
He claims he may have killed someone and threatened his mother with a knife.

28. Realizing no one is actually going to die after the knife scene.

29. Walt steals his daughter Holly and runs.walt holly breaking bad

30. Walt backs out of the driveway, pushing Skyler's car out of the way, kidnapping Holly.
All while Skyler is screaming at the door watching.

31. Skyler left in the street bloody and screaming after Walt.

32. An amber alert is out for Holly.

33. Skyler has the cops in her house on hand ready to track Walt's location if he calls.

34. Walt's epic monologue to Skyler:

"This is your fault. This is what comes of your disrespect. I told you, Skyler, I warned you for a solid year.  If you cross me, there will be consequences.  What part of that did you not understand? Maybe now you will listen. Maybe now you’ll use that damned head of yours. You were never grateful for anything I did for this family."

Mocking Skyler: "Oh Walt, Walt, you have to stop this; it’s immoral; it’s illegal. Someone might get hurt."

"You’re always whining and complaining about how I earned my money. Now, now you tell my son what I do when I told you and told you to keep your d--- mouth shut. You stupid b----. How dare you. You have no right to discuss anything about what I do. What the hell do you know about it anyway? Nothing. I built this – me, me alone. Nobody else. You mark my words, Skyler, just toe the line or you’ll wind up like Hank. You’re never gonna see Hank again. He crossed me. Think about that. Family or no, you let that sink in.”

35. Marie's reaction to hearing about Hank's death.

36. Walt leaves Holly at a fire station.
He knows there's nothing left for him in Albuquerque and he knows he's far too dangerous to have his little girl around him.

37. Walt decides to change his identity.
He calls the service his lawyer Saul gave him. And now it's on to the Granite State as shown in the flash forward at the beginning of the season.

Indian-American Nina Davuluri Crowned Miss America Amid Racist Backlash

Miss AMerica Nina Davuluri

Miss New York, Nina Davuluri, was crowned Miss America on Sunday evening in Atlantic City.

The 24-year-old Syracuse resident is the first ever winner of Indian heritage.

While Davuluri is proud of her heritage  even performing a Bollywood dance during Sunday's show and competing on a theme of “Celebrating Diversity through Cultural Competency” — many weren't pleased.

What should have been a happy occasion turned sour.

Following Davuluri's win, racist trolls took to Twitter to complain about the decision.

The Daily Mail grabbed some screenshots of tweets following the ceremony:

Miss America Twitter backlash

But Davuluri, who is not Muslim, has tried to ignore the hateful comments.

In interview after being crowned Miss America, she said: "I have to rise above that... I always viewed myself as first and foremost American."

"I'm so happy this organization has embraced diversity," she said in a press conference after winning the crown in Atlantic City, N.J.'s Boardwalk Hall. "I'm thankful there are children watching at home who can finally relate to a new Miss America."

But it's not the first time Miss America has faced racism.

When Rima Fakih, who is of Lebanese descent, was crowned Miss USA in 2010, many were quick to try to link her to the militant group Hezbollah.

But Davuluri, who graduated from University of Michigan with a degree in brain behavior and cognitive science, isn't letting the haters get to her.

She plans to use her $50,000 prize money to attend medical school and hopes to become a doctor.

Her father, who emigrated from India 30 years ago, is also a physician.

See how Davuluri won the competition.

She aced the questions portion with co-hosts Chris Harrison and Lara Spencer:

Wowed in the swimsuit competition:

She worked with famed Bollywood choreographer, Nakul Dev Mahajan, to perfect her dance moves in the talent portion:

And ultimately received the top honor, being crowned 2014 Miss America by 2013 Miss America Mallory Hagan:

Behind The Candelabra Matt Damon Michael Douglas
Sunday night’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards honored the key technical disciplines and behind-the-scenes crafts essential to television production.

With eight Emmy awards, Steven Soderbergh's “Behind the Candelabra” — the HBO movie about the relationship between Liberace (Michael Douglas) and Scott Thorson (Matt Damon) — was the biggest winner of the night.

Former MSNBC Anchor Launches Ozy, A Fresh News Site With Money From Laurene Powell Jobs

$

0

carlos watson ozy mediaWhen Carlos Watson received a phone call from a talent agent at ABC, he thought his friend Rachel was messing with him.

"Rachel has pulled an enormous number of pranks on me," Watson laughed as he recalled the beginning of his news anchor career.

Watson has reinvented himself multiple times. He was first an entrepreneur, then he became a notable MSNBC anchor. Now he's found a way to combine both careers into a new venture: Ozy Media.

Watson wore a gray fitted T-shirt and a bright smile to our meeting at Times Square's Blue Fin restaurant. He buzzed excitedly about sports, startups and the media, breaking only once to accept a phone call from his mother.

Watson is the kind of person who is so charismatic, an interview about Ozy required a follow-up phone call. He is a great schmoozer and I admittedly fell for it during our first meeting. He escaped tough business questions the first time around.

The Florida-native was an impoverished teen who worked his way into Harvard. He traveled to California in the early 90s to attend graduate school at Stanford University. Watson then worked for McKinsey & Company, after which he founded Achieva College Prep Service. One of the education startup's first two investors was Laurene Powell Jobs, the philanthropic widow of Steve Jobs.  Watson later sold Achieva to The Washington Post and it merged with Kaplan.

While running Achieva, Watson occasionally made television appearances. There, the ABC scout noticed his effortless charm and asked him to audition for an anchor position. Over the next few years, Watson excelled as broadcast journalist. He had bi-weekly segments on NBC's Morning Joe and a hour-long program on MSNBC. He was also a political commentator on CNN. But in 2009, Watson lost his day-time slot. Watson went back to his roots.

Watson was comfortable in California from his Stanford and startup days. He returned to the west coast to create a media company for a new generation of curious readers.

Ozy Media is 15-people strong, fueled by a large seed round from angel investors like Powell Jobs, Larry Sonsini, Google's Chief Legal Officer David Drummond, Chegg CEO Dan Rosensweig and SV Angels' Ron Conway. It has spent half a year in stealth mode working with beta testers. This morning, Ozy Media finally launched.

"I hope it has been a good, thoughtful [launch] plan," Watson said in a call on Friday. "I'm sure it could have been done in eight weeks but it took eight months..we've been building up a store of content."

"Thoughtful" is the key word. Watson hopes a calculated approach to design and content will separate Ozy from a slew of large, well-funded media competitors. Vox Media, Business Insider, BuzzFeed, Gawker and UpWorthy are just a sampling.

"I think there are a lot of wonderful places where people can go to catch up today," Watson said of the competitive landscape. He believes most outlets excel in one vertical, like tech or finance, but aren't great across the board.

"In a broad-based way, Ozy Media is creating something that consistently brings you what's new and what's next," he says. "I don't think that kind of place [exists]. For a whole generation of us, we're incredibly curious and we want to peek up ahead."

Ozy will try to inform people about businesses as they bubble up, emerging bands and rising political stars. It will use image-based slideshows, high quality videos and infographics to tell fresh stories. Watson wants Ozy to profile the next Elon Musk, for example, before anyone knows his or her name.

But Watson's logic may be flawed. Do people really care about faces and ideas before they've gone mainstream? In other words, do people care about nobodies before they're somebodies?

Watson thinks so.

"I think most people would say, 'No, we don't need another news site,'" Watson says. "But if you asked them, 'Has there been a change, such that people are hungrier now to see more, be more and do more than before?' I think they'd tell you there has been.

"That's why Kickstarter exists. That's why Airbnb has such a robust business. There's a reason why there are things called 500 startups, and a reason startup accelerators are in every city. There's a reason why American Idol is still strong 15 years later. There's a hunger people have for both for themselves and in the world for what's next and what's new."

Read The Enraged Complaints People Sent The FCC About Miley Cyrus' VMA Performance

VMA Miley Cyrus RObin Thicke

More than 150 people were so upset over Miley Cyrus' twerk-filled performance during last month's MTV Video Music Awards that they filed official complaints with the FCC.

They're serious complaints, mainly by parents, but some are also sort of hilariously-worded.

"Had I wanted my family to see a hooker perform a live sex show, I would have taken her to Tijuana," wrote one blunt parent.

Another stated, “Miley Cyrus needs to be spanked.”

The comments are from documents posted online by The Smoking Gun and Huffington Post — obtained via the Freedom of Information Act.

The Smoking Gun published some of the FCC complaints on its site, and here are some excerpts:

Read the rest of the complaints here.

Cyrus, for her part, isn't sorry about her in-your-face performance.

"Madonna's done it, Britney's done it. Every VMA performance, anyone that performs, that's what you're looking for  you're wanting to make history," the pop star told MTV a few days after the show. "Me and Robin the whole time said, 'You know we're about to make history right now.'"

Whether you were Team Miley or not, she got people talking.

The 20-year-old sparked more than 306,000 tweets per minute during the East Coast airing of the show.

Britney Spears Will Earn $310,000 A Night For Her New 2-Year Vegas Show

Britney Spears

Britney Spears' finances may still be under the control of a conservatorship, but the pop star is about to rake in a ton of money.

Beginning this winter, Spears will start a 2-year contract at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood, where she will perform 48 shows a year.

TMZ claims they are "privy to the financial details of Britney's deal" and that the 31-year-old will earn a whopping $15 million per year for two years.

According to the contract, that breaks down to $310,000 per show.

And Spear's cut of is huge, as TMZ reports the projected sales per show are $508,514 — meaning she will be snagging more than 60%.

But it's still not as much as Celine Dion makes for her Vegas gig.

By contrast, Dion does 70 shows a year and earns $476,000 per show.

But the $15 million paycheck is on par for Spears, as it's also the exact amount she earned last year for one season’s work as a judge on the "X Factor."

And as she proves in her new single "Work Bitch" released yesterday, Spears clearly knows the importance of hard work:

You wanna hot body
You want a bugatti
You wanna maseratti
You better work bitch

“Saturday Night Live” has officially added six new cast members, NBC announced on Monday.

Beck Bennett, John Milhiser, Kyle Mooney, Mike O’Brien, Noël Wells and Brooks Wheelan have joined the show as featured players in one of its biggest lineup shifts in four decades.

Bennet is most recognizable for his popular AT&T “It’s Not Complicated” commercials.

Mooney is a performing partner of Bennett’s in the sketch group “Good Neighbor,” and has also appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Milhiser is a veteran of Amy Poehler's UCB Theater and O’Brien is a writer for the show, moving up to a performer at the same time that Tim Robinson, who joined as a featured player last year, will become a writer, reports The Wrap.

Noël Wells, the only new woman in the cast, already has an online following for her “Zooey Deschanel Show.”

The six new cast members join the NBC sketch comedy show after veterans Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis left at the end of last season.

Seth Meyers, who starts hosting “Late Night” in February, will likely continue to appear on “Weekend Update,” alongside the recently announced co-anchor, Cecily Strong.

The six newbies will make their debut as the show enters its 39th season on Sep. 28, with Tina Fey hosting and musical guest Arcade Fire.

Naomi Watts is currently in the midst of a whirlwind press tour to promote her new "Diana" biopic.

But one interview didn't go as planned.

While chatting with BBC Radio host Simon Mayo last week, Watts abruptly ended the interview, telling him she had to go: “I think we’re getting the wind-up, sorry.”

Except the host says that was a complete lie.

With a solid two minutes left in their allotted ten-minute interview, the actress was clearly miffed about something. But the radio host — and his listeners  just weren't sure what.

“I think we’re running late, and we’ve got to go to the next thing,” said Watts, clearly agitated.

The host pleaded, “Could we perhaps finish the interview properly, as we started it? Otherwise, we can’t use the interview,” but Watts had already left the room.

Audio of the interview was just released, listen below:

Now get the mysterious backstory:

Rotten Tomatoes Will Now Review TV Shows In Addition To Movies

$

Rotten TomatoesRotten Tomatoes‘ film recommendations are often hit and miss, so the question is how much stock will be put in the much more nebulous world of TV series reviews?

The aggregator site, acquired by Warner Bros in 2011 and run through the social movie site Flixster, will launch TV Zone beginning tomorrow (parts of the service will go live this evening) offering reviews of full seasons of primetime scripted TV series.

The parameters for a good score will be similar to the site’s movie rules: to be “Certified Fresh” a series must have 60% positive reviews, and the same cutoffs apply.

But film and TV are different and there will be growing pains on how to apply the site’s processes to the TV side.

“We’re doing reviews at the season level the way most critics do”, editor-in-chief Matt Atchity tells Deadline. “We’re still discussing how to handle [individual show] recaps and how that will impact the Tomatometers”.

At launch, the site will provide coverage of “all the reviews we can find” for the previous four years of a show.

In cases of longer-running shows like The Office, the site will go back to the beginning of the series and work forward.

Initially there won’t be coverage of reality TV — “we don’t want to bite off more than we can chew”, Atchity says. He says plans are to staff up on the TV side but much of that depends on the expansion’s success.

This Is What Extremely Good Scrabble Players Look Like [PHOTOS]

scrabble portraits

For most of the hundreds of millions of Scrabble players around the world, spelling a word worth 20 points is a decent turn. The very top tournament players, however, aren't happy unless they can score around 35 or more — and that's when playing with time limits and ruthless competition.

Photographer Roger Cullman, who has played competitive Scrabble for 12 years, began taking portraits of top players four years ago at a tournament in Canada.

While the portraits, which feature players holding up their names or initials in Scrabble tiles, went viral as soon as they were posted, he has continued updating the series.

Scrabble's elite look a lot like you and me, with some quirkiness including the enormous beard of World Scrabble Champion Nigel Richards.

"I found it fascinating to observe the cross-section of players and variety of faces that I was able to capture," Cullman told BI over email.

With permission, we've republished some of his best Scrabble portraits.

Nigel Richards from New Zealand is the reigning World Scrabble Champion.

Travis Chaney from Ashland, Ore. was the first Scrabble player to get expert ratings in English and Spanish Scrabble simultaneously.

Adam Logan from Ottawa, Ont. won the World Scrabble Championship in 2005.

Daft Punk is following up their "Get Lucky" song of the summer with a new music video for "Lose Yourself To Dance."

Featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, the video is full of disco, glittering St. Laurent jackets, and of course, gold-plated helmets.

"An insular production, the video was created by Daft Punk's production company, Daft Arts, and was directed by the robots themselves — Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo — as well as longtime collaborator Warren Fu, who also created the promo for the album," reports MTV.com.

In a recent interview with MTV News, Rodgers sarcastically explained how the video came about: "The Daft Punk video came about like this: 'Hey Nile, what are you doing?' 'I'm in Europe.' 'Can you get over here and do a music video?' 'Sure, OK, cool.' It was that simple."

Watch the final product below:

Think it has the "lucky" touch? The videos sure do look similar.

“School Is The Tool To Brainwash The Youth,” was the young actor’s opening salvo.

He attended the New Village Leadership Academy , which his parents founded in 2008 with a curriculum heavily influenced by Scientology, a controversy first revealed by Radar.

The school shut down earlier this year, and Jaden and his sister, Willow, have reportedly been home schooled since then.

The 5 Most Dangerous Celebrities To Search For Online

Lily Collins

NEW YORK (AP) — If you're curious about Lily Collins and head to the Internet to find out about her, beware — McAfee has ranked the actress as the most dangerous celeb to search for online.

Collins— who starred in movies such as "Mirror, Mirror" and "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" — posed the biggest risk of landing on a malicious site, according the computer security company; last year Emma Watson topped the list.

Female celebrities were the overwhelming lure to malware; Avril Lavigne, Sandra Bullock, Kathy Griffin, and Zoe Saldana rounded out the top five; "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm was the only man in the top 10.

A person could be led to malware after doing a general search and clicking on dubious links, but risks increased when searchers added phrases like "free apps" or "nude photos."

The Mastermind Behind Kanye West's 'Watch The Throne' Tour Has A Startup That Logs Your Dreams

hunter lee soikIf you have a hard time remembering you dreams, you're not the only one.

In fact, researchers say we forget 95% of our dreams.

Hunter Lee Soik, the former creative consultant for Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Watch the Throne" tour, wants to help with a new startup called SHADOW.

SHADOW is an alarm clock that helps you record and remember your dreams. It just launched a $50,000 campaign on Kickstarter. Already, SHADOW has raised more than $1,500.

The app will gently wake you up with escalating alarms and then immediately prompt you to either type or speak about your dreams. Over time, you'll be able to explore if your dream is unique or recurring, and if so, how often it happens. You can choose to share your dreams with other people, or keep them totally private.

Eventually, SHADOW will be able to determine what people dream about during thunderstorms, or if teachers dream differently than journalists.

There are, of course, privacy issues to take into account. But Soik ensures that your dreams will be safe.

"From the time your dream comes out of your lips or fingertips, it will be encrypted with 2048-bit SSL," Soik says. "During both transmission and storage of your dreams we will be using best-in-class encryption standards so you can rest assured that no one will be reading your dreams without your consent."

Take a look at the app below.

21-Year-Old Samantha Shannon Already Has A 6-Figure Book Deal And Is 'The Next J.K. Rowling'

Samantha Shannon

Samantha Shannon is 21-years-old and graduated from Oxford University just two weeks ago, but she already has a seven-book publishing deal with Bloomsbury, praise from critics, and sold film rights for the book series to Imaginarium Studios.

Plus, her new book “The Bone Season” is the first pick for the new "Today" show book club

“The Bone Season,” released Tuesday, is a story about a clairvoyant woman fighting for her freedom against a repressive future society.

Shannon wrote the book when she was just 19-years-old, saying "writing was a drug I couldn't stop taking."

The college student would find time to write after dinner, when she had completed her daily course work.

But an internship with literary agent David Godwin changed everything.

After a slew of initial rejections on a preliminary manuscript, Shannon salvaged one character and wrote a completely different book: "The Bone Season."

Shannon gave her story to Godwin, hoping he could pass it on to a smaller agency. But after reading it, he shared it with Alexandra Pringle, editor-in-chief of Bloomsbury Publishing.

“I literally had to read to the very, very end,”  Alexandra Pringle, editor-in-chief of Bloomsbury Publishing told the "Today" show on Monday. “And when that happens to you — which happens maybe once every 10 years — you know you have to run after it and do everything you can to get it.”

Now, the Brit is already being touted as "the next J.K. Rowling."

“I really admire J.K. Rowling,” said Shannon. “[But] I don't think we should be looking for next someone. I think I’d rather be the next Samantha Shannon.”

If you're like me (and god help you if you are) you now have the song stuck in your head.

If you're not like me (congrats!) then you might be wondering what the song is.

Well, it's Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells, and it's a great song. After wearing out the song when it came out in 2011, I haven't listened to it in a while. Now it's stuck in my head.

For me, and for you, here's the original song:

And, via Peter Kafka, it turns out it's based on a sample of a this Funkadelic song:

Mark Wahlberg Earns His High School Diploma At Age 42

Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg is the executive producer of HBO hits such as "Boardwalk Empire" and "Entourage," he's acted in hit films "Ted" and "The Fighter," been nominated for two Academy Awards, and is worth over a reported $200 million.

But he never even graduated high school — until now.

A year ago, 42-year-old Wahlberg decided to get his degree.

He took online classes and hired a tutor who helped him study between takes on the set of "Two Guns" — but kept it a secret from his co-star, Denzel Washington.

"Denzel was always asking me what I was doing but I didn't want to share that information with him," Wahlberg tells People.com. "Nobody knew, because I felt like I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch, so I didn't want to say that I was doing it until I actually finished it. What if I said I'm doing this and I didn't finish it?"

Ultimately, Wahlberg did earn his degree.

He says a big part of the reason he went back to school was for his four children.

"I didn't want the kids saying, 'You didn't do it, so why do I need it?' They are all wanting to do things in their future that require an education," Wahlberg told People while presenting scholarships to select Taco Bell employees in Irvine, Calif., as part of its pilot program.

Now that it's over, the actor says "It's also a huge sense of relief. I wondered, 'Why didn't I do it when I was there?' It's so much harder at 41 going back and trying to do all these difficult tasks."

Wahlberg, who had a troubled childhood, dropped out in ninth grade after he was charged with attempted murder.

"My circumstances were not unlike millions of other teens today, who live in tough working class neighborhoods surrounded by drugs, violence and crime, and who struggle to stay on the right path without positive influences," Wahlberg wrote in a revealing item on The Huffington Post.

But now that he has his diploma in hand, Wahlberg — a former Calvin Klein underwear model — says, "I would love to go to USC and study film. I don't want to become a veterinarian or anything, [I want to study] things that further my career and broaden my horizon."

Bill Nye The Science Guy made his "Dancing With The Stars" debut Monday night and exposed the audience to a "Weird Science" routine complete with smoking beakers and a lab coat.

It was hilariously awkward, but still had fans chanting his name.

The dancing starts at 1:50, but the whole video — including Nye meeting his partner for the first time and explaining the difference between a beaker and a flask — is pretty painful to watch.

Nye even acknowledged that he might blow it, saying, "we're going to produce a 'cha-cha' experience like you've never seen, and it will fill you with joy. Or it'll be sort of an unwatchable minute and eight seconds."

Looks like it ended up being the latter.

Their performance earned Nye and his partner a 14 out of 30 score from the judges.

Colbert didn't understand what all the racist backlash was about, saying he "condemned" it.

After new “Today” correspondent Carson Daly noted that 705 tweets referenced both “Miss America” and “terrorist," Colbert joked between giggles, “That’s right. Seven hundred and five people saw a woman in a bikini and thought: Muslim Extremist."

The host finished off the segment by stating, "I would like to congratulate Nina Davuluri , thanks to you, young Indian girls can now dream about advocating world peace in a two-piece."
