The Celebrities Who Follow And Get Attacked By Amanda Bynes On Twitter

Amanda Bynes Rihanna

Unless you've been living on the moon for the past month, you're probably aware that former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes has been having a very public meltdown and documenting it all via Twitter.

After tweeting about her nose jobs surgeries, affection for Drake, hatred of Drake, and scantily clad selfies, the 27-year-old actress has amassed nearly 2.5 million followers in just a few short months.

So which celebrities are taking a front row seat and watching the train wreck happen first-hand by following Bynes on Twitter — or even worse, engaging her over twitter?

We, along with E! Online, rounded up a few of Bynes' top fans (and foes):

  • Kim Kardashian: "Am I the only one that is obsessed with her new makeover?" the new mom said of Bynes during her Chelsea Lately takeover. "I think she looks amazing with the blond hair and those nails." Bynes tweeted in response: "I love the beautiful Kardashian sisters!"
  • Nick Cannon: He says he's tried to reach out to Bynes, but hasn't had any luck. "I worked on Amanda's show when she had her show," Cannon said. "To see someone you'd seen at 9, running around with a snotty nose, and now to see her like that is like, 'Wow, man! That's sad.'"
  • Snooki, who follows Amanda on social media as well, thinks Bynes needs her own reality show and said she would "watch it all the time."
  • Channing Tatum, her co-star in 2006's "She's the Man."
  • Zooey Deschanel and Lady Gaga also follow the Twitter queen, although they have yet to engage.
  • Jenny McCarthy: Exchanged a series of heated tweets after the 40-year-old blond beauty suggested Bynes needed to get help. Luckily, the twosome made up (after Amanda called Jenny "ugly"), and McCarthy later told E! News, "You do not mess with Amanda!"
  • Courtney Love: The troubled rocker tweeted at Bynes to "pull it together, dude." Bynes responded by writing "Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen. To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!" Even Joel McHale weighed in on Twitter: "My largest spit-take since 1988. Thank you Courtney RT @Courtney: @AmandaBynes pull it together dude."
  • Rihanna: When Bynes tweeted (but has since deleted) at the singer "Chris brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough,” Rihanna responded by saying, “Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention.”
  • Chrissy Teigen: Bynes lashed out at the Sports Illustrated model after she tweeted, "The fact that Amanda Bynes has any "support" to retweet is really unsettling. Support people with mental illness, yes. But don't condone/enable scary and poor behavior." Bynes then slammed Teigen by calling her an "old ugly model," completely disregarding the fact the two are both 27-years-old.

President Barack Obama, Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane are among the select seven people Amanda follows on her feed.

5 Bands You Should Be Listening To This Weekend

the rubens

There’s always so much great music coming out from week to week and sometimes it’s just hard to keep up with it all.

Lucky for you, we at FILTER are happy to scour through all the music out there and compile an easy list for you to check out.

This week, we have gathered some of our favorites from all over the world that we thought would be worth a listen. We take you from Iceland to Australia in hopes that you’ll discover some new music across borders.

The Rubens

One of the latest newcomers we’ve been listening to recently are The Rubens who came to use from Australia. This blues-rock band instantly captured our attention with their infectious track, “My Gun” and kept it as we listened to more of their great tracks. They’ve only been around for two years, but they’ve already made a great impact in their home country and are starting to make appearances in the States. With those beautiful bluesy songs like “Lay It Down,” we’re hoping they’ll be around for a long time.

Ewert and the Two Dragons

ewert and the two dragons

This Estonian indie-folk outfit is paving their way in the music world. They recently won the European Border Breakers Award for being a breakout band making an impact outside of their home country. They have been touring around Europe and are finally making their way to the states. Their second album, "Good Man Down," has been well received and the band is making it their US debut album. So if you’re in the mood for something you can clap your hands and tap your feet to, we’d recommend you start with “(In The End) There’s Only Love” and then fall in love as you explore the rest of their songs.

Olafur Arnalds

Olafur Arnalds

Earlier this year, we fell in love with Olafur Arnalds cinematic, "For Now I Am Winter." Every song on that album was composed to create a scenic beauty that allowed the listener to feel the music as they heard it. With the way the sounds build and complement each other in a harmonizing way, it’s no surprise to us that this album was met with critical acclaim. A lot of thought went into the composure of these songs and one can hear the profound depth behind each layer of songs like “Only The Winds” and “Old Skin.” Though even looking back at symphonic beauties like “Ljósið,” this Icelandic composer has made it clear that what started off well has only improved with time.

Alexander von Mehren

alexander von mehran

Though this 29-year-old composer comes from Norway, you wouldn’t be able to tell from his music. Inspired by the breezy vibes of the 60s and 70s, his songs are fit for a throw-back summer lounge day. You can hear the groove in the songs that provide a nice backdrop when in the mood for something upbeat, but breezy. As the longest days of summer begin to shorten, we’d say listening to von Mehren’s “Winter Comes” would be a good way to spend them.

Volcano Choir

volcano choir

It’s been quite some time since we heard from Justin Vernon’s Volcano Choir, but they recently released their single “Byegone” from their upcoming album, "Repave." While it doesn’t come out until September 3rd, now would be a good time to catch up on their last album, "Unmap." It was filled with experimental rock and now with the new track it seems that Volcano Choir has really found their sound. With this song, Vernon sounds like a soft echo drowning a sea of instrumentation, but just as it seems he’ll disappear, he comes back up to the surface and lets his vocals be heard. It all comes together nicely and has developed from the songs of "Unmap." With a sound like theirs, they should be someone you could listen and enjoy for some time.

Melissa McCarthy's 'Heat' May Be Hot Enough To Take The 'White House' Down This Weekend

melissa mccarthy sandra bullock the heat

We're rolling into another big summer showdown at the box office this weekend.

Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx's over-the-top action thriller "White House Down" ("WHD") is going head-to-head with queen of comedy Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock's cop comedy "The Heat."

Analysts have said it's going to be one of the closest box-office weekends with The Wrap predicting earlier this summer "The Heat" would narrowly edge out the "White House" film.

So far "WHD" had the advantage Thursday evening, earning $1.35 million vs. $1 million in late-night and midnight showings for "The Heat."

However it should be noted Columbia Pictures began rolling out Roland Emmerich's presidential thriller at 7 p.m. as opposed to the funny girl comedy which didn't start showing in theaters until 10 p.m.

While most analysts are expecting the two films to battle it outfor second place at the box office, it looks like the R-rated "Heat" ladies may be hot enough to steal the weekend — even from the clutches of Disney's mammoth "Monsters University."

Here's why the women of "The Heat" could take down Tatum.

Ticket Sales Outpacing "WHD"

channing tatum white house downFandango tells us that right now "The Heat" is its number one ticket seller among new releases.

Of course, more men may just show up to theaters rather than buy pre-paid tickets.

However, The Hollywood Reporter is already anticipating "WHD" to be one of, if not the lowest-opening weekend of any Emmerich film.

With "Monsters University" expected to lead the box office for the second weekend in a row with at least $40 million, "The Heat" could potentially sneak up on Disney's prequel.

Could an R-rated chick flick really beat "Monsters University"? Fandango's Chief Correspondent Dave Karger says it could happen.

It’s very possible that 'The Heat' could win the weekend, as it’s already leading the online and mobile ticket sales on Fandango," says Karger. "If it wins, it would be a huge upset since 'The Heat' is an R-Rated action comedy up against a G-rated family film like 'Monsters' and a PG-13-rated blockbuster like 'White House Down.'”

Melissa McCarthy On The Rise

identity thief melissa mccarthyIf we've learned anything at the box office this year, it's that people want to see Melissa McCarthy on screen.

As of yesterday, "The Heat" was selling 50% more advance tickets on Fandango than for McCarthy's two previous films "Bridesmaids" and "Identity Thief." Opening weekend, "Bridesmaids" earned $26 million before going on to earn $288 million worldwide.

"Identity Thief" surprised many critics when it debuted to $34.6 million opening weekend— more than $10 million it was expected to earn.

The film stayed atop the box office charts until Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful" came out six weeks later.

In a survey of 1,000 ticket buyers for "The Heat," Fandango found the unique pairing of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy is what's driving people to theaters.

Women Are Going To Flock To See This Film — Don't Count Men Out, Too

sandra bullock melissa mccarthy the heatAccording to Fandango's survey, 67% are planning to make the event a girl's night out.

While we shouldn't count out Tatum's fan base of ladies, this isn't "Magic Mike 2." The first film prospered due to the "Fifty Shades of Grey" craze.

Plus, an overwhelming 90% are heading to see the movie because it's NOT an action flick (sorry "WHD").

Essentially, "The Heat" is a "This Is The End"-esque movie for women.

The appeal of Sandra Bullock should bring a younger demographic of men that are also heading to see "WHD" since the film conjures images of previous Bullock action films, "Speed" and "Miss Congeniality."

One other thing "The Heat" has going for it is that the critics are being kinder to the girl-powered buddy comedy as opposed to Tatum and Foxx's thriller that seems all too familiar

To be fair, "White House Down" does have the backing of Tatum who came off a very successful 2012 (more on that here), and certainly Jimmy Kimmel who has had both he and co-star Jamie Foxx on a few times together to promote their upcoming film. The three starred in now-viral video "Channing All Over Your Tatum." Really.

It should be an exciting weekend.

So Much For Paula Deen's Book Being An Amazon Bestseller: It's No Longer Being Published

paula deen cookbook

It's hard to imagine how things can get much worse for Paula Deen.

One of the few aspects of her business that seemed to remain standing after the racism scandal blew up last week was her line of cookbooks.

Her new book, "Paula Deen's New Testament: 250 Recipes, All Lightened Up," was due out in October and held the top spot on Amazon's bestseller list earlier this week. Now, Ballantine Books has announced that it is dropping the title.

The publisher, which is part of book giant Random House, issued a brief statement on Friday, saying "After careful consideration, Ballantine Books has made the difficult decision to cancel the publication of Paula Deen’s New testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up."

The new book was supposed to be the first in a five-book deal that has now been called off, according to NPR. Deen's literary agent, Janis Donnaud, told NPR that she is "confident that these books will be published and that we will have a new publisher," but declined to say whether any other publishers had expressed interest.

Random House joins about a dozen other companies that have distanced themselves from Deen in the midst of the scandal.

10 Movie Roles That Show Why We'll Never Have Another Katharine Hepburn

Katharine Hepburn The Philadelphia Story 1940Ten years after her death, the spirited actress Katharine Hepburn perseveres as a timeless cultural icon.

Hepburn, star of classics such as "Bringing Up Baby" and "The African Queen," was known for her spunk. And her hatred of skirts.

She once threatened to walk around the set naked when film executives confiscated her pants — which weren't socially appropriate for women to wear in the 1930s — according to the biography, "Katharine Hepburn: Rebel Chic."

"Though she only stripped down as far as her silk underwear before stepping out of her dressing room, she made her point," fashion writer Nancy MacDonnel wrote, "and she got her trousers back."

Hepburn's flair for selecting roles that reflected her headstrong personality landed her top billing spots in "Morning Glory," "A Philadelphia Story," and "On Golden Pond."

She died on June 29, 2003 at the age of 96.

"Morning Glory" (1933): Katharine receives her first Academy Award for Best Actress as Eva Lovelace, a wildly optimistic aspiring actress who goes into a frenzy after tasting fame.

Watch the final scene.

"Alice Adams" (1935): Katharine's popularity declined until her starring role as Alice, a lovesick young woman climbing the social ladder out of the lower-middle class — earning her an Oscar nomination and her fan base back.

Watch a clip.

"Bringing Up Baby" (1938): In a role written for her, Katharine played Susan, a flighty heiress with a pet leopard and a crush on a paleontologist. The film tanked upon its first release, but is today considered a classic screwball comedy.

12 Innovators Who Are Changing Hollywood

$

Zach Braff

Hollywood is changing, and not a moment too soon. With traditional entertainment platforms in upheaval and digital models facing down old-style distribution, TheWrap went on the hunt for the people who are creating new business models, challenging the status quo and digging new paths for content creators.

So here they are, in our first annual list of Innovators Who Are Changing Hollywood.

These 12 come from all walks of the entertainment industry -- from production, screenwriting, marketing, social media, finance, YouTube, agenting and talent in front of and behind the screen. Beyond this innovative dozen, there were some fascinating risers who we couldn't resist naming as honorable mentions.

Have a look, have a read, and let us know what you think.

Innovators are listed in alphabetical order.

Jason Blum: Founder, Blumhouse Productions

With each new micro-budget hit, Jason Blum is upending the way movies are made, emphasizing thrift in exchange for artistic freedom and greater profits.

He first caught Hollywood's attention in 2009 with "Paranormal Activity," which cost a mere $15,000 to produce and made an astounding $193.3 million globally. Then he proved that wasn't an anomaly with films like "Insidious" and this summer's "The Purge," which earned back their bargain-basement budgets tenfold thanks to fresh spins on familiar bogeymen like ghosts or home invaders.

"We can take risks that we wouldn't be allowed if these were traditional studio films," Blum told TheWrap, noting that actors, directors and producers on his films work for scale in return for getting a bigger cut of a picture's back-end.

His reward is a first-look distribution deal at Universal -- but he has no plans to mess with his formula for the sake of nicer craft services or a bigger trailer

Asked what he would do if offered $100 million to make any film he wanted, he replied, "I'd use it to make 35 movies."

Zach Braff: Actor/Writer/Director, Kickstarter Fundraiser

You remember Zach Braff. The goofy doctor-ish guy from "Scrubs," and the writer-director and star of a little indie movie called "Garden State," which in 2004 took the indie world's heart and made almost $27 million?

That guy started an internet feeding frenzy earlier this year when he decided to crowdfund a follow-up called "Wish I Was Here" at Kickstarter. He killed his goal of $2 million in a couple of days and ended up with $3.1 million -- along with a chorus of naysayers who protested that a Hollywood star had co-opted a tool for the unwashed masses.

We disagree. Totally. Making independent films like "Garden State" is a Sisyphean task in the current moviemaking system. And Braff is not in it for the money. He's in it for love. We salute his commitment to telling good stories using the power of social media.

And as he wrote on Twitter: "Haters gonna hate. The angry will only get angrier. I choose love." Amen.

Maha Dakhil: Agent, CAA

When TheWrap wrote about CAA back in March, Maha Dakhil was one of the names that continually came up as an agent bound to lead the next generation at Hollywood's largest talent shop.

To that point, she represents a bevy of rising directors with movies coming out this fall, including Lee Daniels ("The Butler"), Steve McQueen ("Twelve Years a Slave") and Denis Villeneuve ("Prisoners"). On the talent side, she works with Natalie Portman and some guy named Tom Cruise.

She also has fully embraced the increasing international nature of Hollywood, signing successful French directors like Michel Hazanavicius, who won an Oscar for "The Artist," and Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, whose "The Intouchables" is the second highest grossing film in French history.

Dakhil told TheWrap she is "focused on igniting creative exchanges with artists from different corners of the world. Packaging is more than putting pieces together, it's about bringing people together who are like-minded  and encouraging them to work together."

Oh, she also represents Gary Ross, who launched Hollywood's biggest new franchise — "The Hunger Games."

'The Heat' Scorches 'White House Down' — Here's Your Box-Office Roundup

$

the heat sandra bullock melissa mccarthy

The men of "White House Down" weren't hot enough for the women of "The Heat."

Actually, the Roland Emmerich directed Channing Tatum action thriller failed to compete with a lot of the big films at theaters this weekend. Friday, Numerous outlets had "White House Down" competing for secondplace at the box office.

It didn't even make it into the top three for the weekend.

"WHD" didn't bomb. It just didn't fare as well as expected to compete for a top spot.

Instead, Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock's cop comedy soared earning a huge $40 million this weekend.

Disney and Pixar's "Monsters University" also performed better than initially expected. At the end of the week analysts were expecting it to earn in the lower $40 millions. It ended up retaining nearly 60% of its earnings from its $82 million opening weekend.

Overall, it was a huge weekend at the box office. This was only the second time this year where five films have earned more than $20 million in one weekend.

Iron Man" finally falls out of the top ten after nine weeks. The third film in the franchise has earned a massive $1.2 billion worldwide.

Also out of the top ten this week is tiny horror scare "The Purge." The film, which cost an estimated $3 million to produce has gone on to earn $72.9 million in four weeks.

Here are this week's winners and losers in Hollywood:

10. "The Internship" narrowly edged out "Iron Man 3" with $1.43 million to last in the top ten for one more week. The Google internship comedy has earned $56.6 million worldwide in a month which leaves it $2 million short of its estimated budget.

9. "Star Trek Into Darkness" stays exactly where it was last week earning $2 million.  The sequel has now brought in $438.1 million worldwide for Paramount since its mid-May release.

8. "Fast & Furious 6" continues to outrace others with $2.4 million in week 6. The latest film in the franchise has earned an enormous $682 million worldwide. "Fast 7" is already on track for release next summer.

7. Magic movie "Now You See Me" has really paid off for Lionsgate and Summit. After five weeks, the film is slowly falling down the top ten adding another $55.5 million to its total $153.4 million haul. One thing to note is that "Now You See Me" is  playing in 1,000 more theaters than other films that have been out for the same amount of time or longer.

6. "This is the End" drops two spots earning $8.7 million in its third weekend. The apocalyptic comedy, revolving around Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen has earned $77 million worldwide.

5. "Man of Steel" adds another $20.8 million to its total $520.4 million take at the box office. This past weekend, Zack Snyder's Superman reboot hit the $500 million mark worldwide.

4. Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx's "White House Down" came in a disappointing fourth place with $25.7 million. The film was originally expected to earn close to $34 million. What happened? The film received a lot of blow back from critics for being too much like March release, "Olympus Has Fallen." The thriller also most likely got lost in the clutter of every other explosive — no exaggeration — summer blockbuster.

3. Paramount must be happy. No one predicted "World War Z" earning more than a new film out this weekend. Friday, everyone was talking about "WHD" and "The Heat" competing for second place at the box office. Brad Pitt's zombie film earned another $29.8 million in week two bringing its worldwide total to $259 million worldwide.

2. Take note Hollywood. If you weren't convinced before, Melissa McCarthy is a big box-office draw. "The Heat" exceeded expectations this weekend earning a big $40 million this weekend. The film was anticipated to maybe earn around $34 million. The hilarious and odd pairing of McCarthy and Sandra Bullock drove audiences out to see a refreshing comedy this weekend over disaster film "WHD."

1. Though "The Heat" was hot, its huge weekend wasn't enough to catch the duo of Sulley and Mike from "Monsters University." The film also performed better than analysts predicted earning $46 million in its second weekend. The Pixar film has earned a big $300.3 million for the mouse house in two weeks.

Here's What A Former Google Employee Thinks Of That New Google Internship Movie (GOOG)

$
0
0

The Internship

Benjy Weinberger spent eight years as a Google software engineer, so we'd only expect him to have strong opinions on the comedy "The Internship."

The movie follows Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson's characters as they get Google internships despite being completely unqualified.

"Spoiler alert: it's terrible," Weinberger writes on his Tumblr page.

His complaints seem to be predominantly sociological. He disikes the movie for  "pandering to every imaginable Silicon Valley stereotype" as well as its poor portrayal of women.

He writes:

"Asian math genius in thrall to a tiger mom? Check. Over-accented older Indian man in a sweater vest? Check. Nerds with poor social skills? Check. And, worst of all, sexually repressed female executive in need of a good shagging from Owen Wilson? You betcha."

As far as how female characters are portrayed, Weinberger writes that the audience is only presented with "three insulting stereotypes" about females – the sexually repressed exec, the cliched stripper with a heart of gold, and the cosplay/hentai-loving fangirl.

He says that if he were a woman considering a career in tech, this movie would send him "running for the hills."

"Newsflash! Many engineers are normal, well-adjusted people with hobbies and interests that go well beyond muggle quidditch. Some of us are women! Some of us like movies other than The X-Men!" he writes.

Hopefully we're all intelligent enough to recognize that this movie is just that – a movie, with only the slightest basis in reality.

It's not all tough critiques from Weinberger, however. He enjoyed the movie "not because it’s particularly funny, but as an extended game of 'spot the cafeteria.'"

Cique du SoleilA female Cirque du Soleil performer died Saturday night after falling during a performance of the show "Ka" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The incident marks the first death from an accident onstage in Cirque's 30-year history.

Sarah Guillot-Guyard, a 31-year-old mother of two children ages 8 and 5, fell nearly 50 feet in a fatal high-wire accident.

"Guyard-Guillot was one of the artists suspended by a wire from the show’s vertical stage in the show-closing Final Battle scene," reports the Las Vegas Sun. "As she ascended to the top of the stage, she slipped free of her safety wire and dropped to the open, unseen pit below the performers."

The show momentarily continued, but then the music halted, and the performer’s screams and groans could be heard from below the stage, eyewitnesses told The Sun.

One audience member tweeted"Wire snapped. Performer on far stage left side of stage. He/she fell fast & awkwardly at LEAST 50 feet into pit."

Paris-born Guyard-Guillot had spent more than 22 years as an acrobatic performer and coach.

Cirque du Soleil founder, Guy Laliberte, released the below statement:

“I am heartbroken. I wish to extend my sincerest sympathies to the family. We are all completely devastated with this news. Sassoon [her nickname] was an artist with the original cast of 'Ka' since 2006 and has been an integral part of our Cirque du Soleil tight family. We are reminded, with great humility and respect, how extraordinary our artists are each and every night. Our focus now is to support each other as a family."

“We have been working with the appropriate authorities and have offered our full cooperation. Performances of 'Ka' will be canceled until further notice."

If you're a "Lord of the Rings" (LOTR) fan you've probably seen the mashup of Orlando Bloom's character Legolas repeatedly saying "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard."

A day after Sir Ian McKellen's last day on set of "The Hobbit" trilogy in New Zealand, Peter Jackson and crew bid farewell to Bloom by having him sing along to his viral YouTube video.

Posted over the weekend onto Jackson's Facebook, the new addition already has more than 5 million views.

Bloom will reprise the role of Legolas in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" out December 13.

For any "LOTR" fans, Jackson posted the video along with a note relaying that Bloom will be in the third film due out 2014 and that it will also contain the Battle of the Five Armies— something not originally in the short "Hobbit" novel.

"What a great day it was, with Orlando battling a serious Orc for all 12 hours of shooting - part of the Battle of the 5 Armies for the third Hobbit movie."

The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset that is most definitely the future of gaming.

The device straps onto your head and completely immerses you inside a video game. It also has motion sensors so you can look around as if you were really inside the world.

But it's nearly impossible to explain. The Oculus Rift is one of those things you have to see to believe. Several Business Insider employees gave it a whirl last week, and we took them on a trip through the solar system, on a medieval roller coaster, and put them into a death-by-guillotine simulation.

Jennifer Lopez Under Fire For Singing 'Happy Birthday' To Turkmenistan Leader

jennifer lopez concertJennifer Lopez said sorry on Sunday for singing "Happy Birthday" to the leader of Turkmenistan after learning of his dense record of human rights violations.

The Human Rights Watch lists Turkmenistan's government among "the most repressive in the world" on its website, noting its crackdown on freedom of expression, use of torture in the criminal justice system, and interference with residents’ right to leave and return to the country.

Turkmenistan authorities failed to heed recommendations made in previous Human Rights Council reviews, in December 2008.

In a statement to the AP, Lopez's publicist said the Latin pop princess had no idea.

“Had there been knowledge of human rights issues any kind, Jennifer would not have attended,” the publicist said.

Concert organizers, employees of the China National Petroleum Corporation, made a last-minute request before Lopez took the stage that she serenade the country's leader, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. Lopez "graciously obliged," according to the publicist's statement.

The AP acknowledges that Jenny From The Block isn't the first artist to receive backlash for performing in countries or for leaders with human rights violations.

Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, and Usher performed at parties linked to the late Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, later promising to donate their hefty performance fees to charity.

Watch Lopez's performance below. 'Happy Birthday' begins at the 50 second mark.

Guillermo del Toro's big robots vs. monsters film "Pacific Rim" comes out in two weeks.

While we've seen a few trailers and plenty of footage of the good guys in their robot suits, we have little idea of what the aliens look like

Warner Bros. released two new posters giving a glimpse of one of the monsters we'll see in the film.

It's not so scary.

In case you want to check out the robot, here's another look at that, too.

A few other monsters have surfaced online through early looks at action figures. After taking a look through them all, we can't help but feel like all of the monsters are evolved forms of Pokémon.

This monster, called Knifehead has four arms, a tail, and a face resembling a hammerhead shark. (Kind of reminds us of a street shark.)

Brandy Bishop Don 'Magic' Juan BET Awards 2013

Everyone from Justin Timberlake to Nicki Minaj came out for the 2013 BET Awards at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The show, hosted by Chris Tucker, featured performances by Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Ciara, R. Kelly and more.

Nicki Minaj won the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist for the fourth year in a row, Kendrick Lamar won Best New Artist and Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Drake took home three awards but wasn't there to accept them because he was apparently afraid to run into nemesis Chris Brown.

But the most interesting aspect of the night was the red carpet, where music stars went all out in crazy, over-the-top outfits.

MTV Reality star Angela Simmons, here with rapper French Montana, hosted 106 & Park's red carpet pre-show.

Brandy and actor Bishop Don 'Magic' Juan were having plenty of fun before the awards ceremony.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose made one of their first red carpet appearances since welcoming baby boy Sebastian in February.

George Lucas Mellody Hobson

After seven years of dating, George Lucas, 69, and Mellody Hobson, 44, finally tied the knot two weeks ago at the "Star Wars" creator's Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, California.

On Saturday, the couple followed up their nuptials with a star-studded party in Chicago, where Hobson is from.

The couple had been dating long distance as Hobson heads Chicago-based investment management firm Ariel Investments in addition to her role as DreamWorks animation chair.

The couple shared their wedded bliss with Chicago friends at the city’s lakeside Promontory Point.

Musician Prince, along with a 20-piece band, performed for guests such as Robin Williams, "Star Wars" star Mark Hamill, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Gayle King, Al Roker, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Graydon Carter, Tina Brown, Grammy winner Ne-Yo, "Star Wars" prequel star Hayden Christensen and his fiancé, "OC" star Rachel Bilson.

"They wrote a check to the city for the whole thing," a police officer on duty revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, as he shooed rubberneckers away from the event's check-in desk.

Watch a local Chicago news report detailing the Hollywood party:

The couple talked about their relationship to Oprah:

7 Months After It Was Decimated By Sandy, NYC's South Street Seaport Hosted A Major Music Festival [PHOTOS]

The whole area of Piers 16 and 17 was packed. 4 knots music festival in nyc at the south street seaport

Almost seven months to the day after Superstorm Sandy submerged South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan, The Village Voice held its free 4 Knots Festival at the port this weekend.

The music festival was a welcome sign in the area, which was hit hard by the storm. The piers and port were packed as thousands of people showed up for the festivities.

It's been a slow road to recovery, festival organizer Stephen Dima told Business Insider.

"On the night of the storm, the Seaport was under nearly seven feet of water  none of us have ever seen that," said Dima, who has been organizing events at the seaport for a decade. "The infrastructure in the area was destroyed. Everything that was on the ground had to be removed, gutted and/or rebuilt."

The festival contained a healthy mix of music, from the hip-hop stylings of Fat Tony to the harsher tones of White Lung. But the headliner and main draw was Kurt Vile and the Violators.

Vile, a former forklift operator at the Philadelphia Brewing Company who recently released his latest album "Wakin On A Summer Daze" to major critical acclaim, is a fast-rising star. He and his band the Violators rocked the last set and made the day truly worthwhile.

On our way down to the waterfront we spotted this amazing cab.

There were a lot of people, but also plenty of volunteers on crowd control.

The bike check was packed.

"True Love" is the title of Pink's latest, catchy summer song.

The just-released music video is about her seven-year marriage to professional motocross racer, Carey Hart and the couple's two-year-old daughter, Willow.

But Pink says her life isn't all roses and rainbows. Here's a sample of the lyrics:

At the same time, I wanna hug you
I wanna wrap my hands around your neck
You're an a--hole but I love you

This isn't the first time Pink's husband has appeared in one of her music videos.

Hart starred in 2008's "So What" which deals with the couple's temporary separation. He also appeared in the sexy "Just Give Me a Reason."

Watch their latest collaboration below, also featuring British songstress Lily Allen:
