KATHERINE WEBB: I'm The Anti-Kim Kardashian

katherine webb

AJ McCarron's girlfriend Katherine Webb announced that she's going to be in the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in a big interview with Jimmy Traina of SI today.

She talked candidly about what her fame means, saying she sees herself as a more moral version of other celebrities.

She said she has heard people call her the anti-Kim Kardashian, and that she agrees with that assessment.

Here is an interesting exchange about how she sees herself:

SI.com: So it's safe to assume you said yes right away when you got the call?

Webb: Oh, my gosh. Absolutely. I've been approached by different publications, but I think a lot of America appreciated how classy I was, and I got a lot of responses saying I was America's sweetheart and all that kind of stuff. I'm from Alabama and I have morals and I have class. That's my personality. A lot of people have said I'm the anti-Kim Kardashian and I'm all right with that.

SI.com: Well, Kim Kardashian has done all right for herself.

Webb: She made herself into who she is and that's fine and all that. But I guess the way I want to go about all this is, I just want to have a positive image for myself. I want girls to be able to look up to me and to say, "I want to be just like her one day." That's what I did as Miss Alabama and I loved that.

She said she wants to be a good role model as well, and continue modeling.

Considering that no one knew who she was a week ago, this is an amazing start to her career.

Britney Spears Likely Headlining Vegas Show For $100M Paycheck After Break Up With Fiancé

Britney Spears

There's a lot of action in the life of Britney Spears this week.

On Friday, the singer confirmed she was leaving her judge position on Fox's hit "X Factor" to focus on her music career, saying:

"I've made the very difficult decision not to return for another season ... but it's time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."

In addition to currently recording her eighth album, Spears is now in talks to headline a Las Vegas showá la Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Cher and Elton John.

“She is very interested in a Vegas residency, and is in serious talks with one of the major casino groups,” a source close to Spears revealed to Gossip Cop.

The negotiations are reportedly with one of the Caesars group properties, and they have "been wooing her for awhile."

While no deal has been finalized just yet, sources tell TMZ that Spears "could do even better" than Celine Dion's reported $100 million paycheck for three years of Vegas shows at ... Caesar's Palace.

britney spears jason trawickInterestingly enough, Spears also confirmed her split from her fiancé Jason Trawick on Friday.

Sources tell TMZ it was a "friendly breakup" and Britney and Jason will remain friends as the two simply "grew apart" after nearly four years together.

Spears confirmed the break up news to People.com late Friday, stating: "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."

Trawick also issued a statement saying, "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."

After starting out as Spears' agent, Trawick then transitioned into the role of co-conservator along with her father, Jamie Spears.

"Jason didn't want to make the announcement until he was taken off the conservatorship," reports TMZ. "Lawyers for the conservatorship are in court right now, along with Britney's dad so it's possible Jason will be removed today."

On Thursday, Spears switched agencies from WME -- where Trawick was an agent -- to CAA.

Personally and financially, looks like Spears is now a free agent -- well except for her father, who will now be the singers' sole conservator.

AD OF THE DAY: A Love Triangle Between George Clooney, Cindy Crawford, And Stacy Keibler

George Clooney and Rande Gerber, the restaurateur who is perhaps better known as Cindy Crawford's husband, have entered the tequila business together. The two recently put out this ad for their new brand, Casamigos, which features both of them and their significant others.

The opening scene shows George Clooney and Cindy Crawford waking up in bed together with confused looks on their faces. (Clooney notoriously has a crush on his married pal.) Looks like the tequila got the better of them the night before.

The ad continues by showing Stacy Kiebler, Clooney's latest girlfriend, in bed with Gerber, and the tequila-induced combinations become increasingly unexpected.

How 31 People In Hollywood Reacted To Their Oscar Nominations This Week

jennifer lawrence

Tim Burton is honored, the “ParaNorman” directors are in shock, and Harvey Weinstein is blown away!!!!!!!

Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone announced the 2013 Oscar nominees Thursday morning and, in the time-honored tradition of orchestrated spontaneity, most of the nominees provide some sort of reaction.

Here's what they had to say.

Ang Lee: Director of "Life of Pi," 11 nominations including Best Picture

"I am deeply honored and frankly a little overwhelmed by all of the nominations that 'Life of Pi' has received this morning. So many talented people gave everything they had to this film, both in front of and behind the camera, and to see all of them receive this kind of recognition is something I am incredibly grateful for."

Jennifer Lawrence: "Silver Linings Playbook," Best Actresss

"I'm so honored and grateful for this nomination and to be in the company of such talented actresses. Having the fortunate opportunity to work with David O. Russell was an extraordinary gift and I am so thrilled for my fellow cast members Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver who are all nothing short of amazing. This was a labor of love that we all poured our hearts into and could not be more thankful to The Weinstein Company and Harvey Weinstein for their unyielding support of the film. "

Michael Haneke: Writer and director of “Amour,” five nominations including Best Picture

“I am very happy and gratified by the Oscar nominations that ‘Amour’ has received today, and that the voting members of the Academy have taken the film so strongly to their hearts. It is fulfilling to discover that a film has found the audience and critical acclaim that ‘Amour’ has garnered. I have been very fortunate on both those fronts, but it is especially rewarding to discover that a film has found favor among one’s industry peers who know, in particular, the effort that goes into getting a film – any film – made.”

Emmys Awards

Apple, one of the most beloved companies in the world, has just received another impressive honor.

The iPhone-maker received a Tech Emmy Award at CES 2013 from the National Academy of Television Arts.

Apple’s award is for an “Eco-system for Real Time Presentation of TV Content to Mobile Devices without the use of Specialized Television Hardware”, reports Forbes.

We don't know yet what product this is actually referring to but many are guessing that the win is for Apple's iCloud.

This isn't the first time that Apple has received a tech Emmy award. It took home an Emmy in 2001 for the invention of FireWire, in 2002 for video editing software, Final Cut Proand two more in 2005 and 2006 for “Streaming Media Architectures and Components.”

What 'Arrested Development' Will Be Like When It Hits Netflix In May

$

arrested developmentUpdate: Wednesday afternoon's TCA panel revealed plenty of new info about Arrested Development's return on Netflix this May.

You won't call it season four, if Jason Bateman has anything to say about it:

Jason Bateman just said this isn't season four. In other words: "Don't call it that." #tca13

— Erik Adams (@ErikMAdams) January 9, 2013

The new episodes are building to a movie:

Jason Bateman calls the Netflix episodes "the first act of what we hope to continue and complete in a movie"#TCA13#ArrestedDevelopment

— TVGuideMagazine January 9, 2013

Alan Sepinwall's live blog has details on the structure

Hurwitz: "I would say it is a very different form that emerged really organically. It really followed the function... The family grew apart, and everybody else kind of grew up and got other shows, and the only way we could get everybody for what we will loosely call an anthology... was to dedicate each episode to a character's a point of view." They started finding out that stories would intersect.
...
Says you'll see the same scene twice from multiple perspectives. "It was an evolution of the format that was necessary." Bateman adds it's exclusive to the format Netflix provides, so you can watch a portion of the Michael episode, then click over to Lucille's episode. Mitch says originally, they wanted to find a way to jump from one story to another — "Almost a Choose Your Own Adventure sort of thing" — and that contributed to make "one giant 700 minute Arrested Development."

Therefore:

There IS an episode order that is set up to preserve the most surprises. But you CAN watch in any order. #tca13

— Todd VanDerWerff (@tvoti) January 9, 2013

Michael Cera worked in the writer's room:

"I had some wild ideas that didn't make it," Cera said. #ArrestedDevelopment

— Vulture (@vulture) January 9, 2013

Each episode will be about a half an hour:

The #ArrestedDevelopment episodes vary in length, roughly 30 minutes in length #TCA13

— Jarett Wieselman (@JarettSays) January 9, 2013

Per Sepinwall:

They vary in length. "We're just starting post-production," so some of the storytelling will be in flux. "In general, we're just going to try to make these under a half-hour. Try to take the cable TV comedy model."

The show structure will be all the more complex since there aren't commercials:

Jason Bateman says being on Netflix (without the distraction of commercials) allows Arrested Development to get more complex #TCA13

— BuzzFeedEntmnt (@BuzzFeedEnt) January 9, 2013

Though attendees did not get to see an actual clip from the show (out of spoiler fear), they saw an outtake:

Watching adeleted #Arrested scene: Lucille is blowing cigarette smoke into Buster's mouth, and he's blowing it out onto the patio for her.

— Vulture (@vulture) January 9, 2013

Original post: Confirming what we learned earlier on Wednesday, Netflix announced at its Television Critic's Association panel this afternoon that Arrested Development will come to Netflix in May, with all episodes being released at the same time in a move that will appeal to binge watchers.

Justice Scalia Made A Smart Argument For Kids' Right To Play Violent Video Games

$

Antonin Scalia

After Adam Lanza gunned down 20 first-graders in mid-December, news emerged that the troubled 20-year-old played violent video games including Call of Duty.

That revelation sparked a debate that has raged in this country at least since Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire on Columbine High School in 1999.

Do violent video games inspire troubled teens to "act out" their bloody fantasy lives?

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has contended the games do inspire bloody acts.

He argued on MSNBC this week that a kid "killing people" on Call of Duty over and over again eventually stops feeling the "real-life effects of violence" so much, The New York Times reported.

Naturally, video game makers are a little worried that being vilified could hurt their $60 billion industry.

Game makers have been pulling together scientific research they say shows no link between video games and actual violence as part of their latest lobbying efforts, the Times reported.

While the NRA and some other conservatives have been quick to blame video game makers for school rampages, violent video game companies have found an unlikely ally: right-leaning Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

In June 2011, Scalia wrote an opinion finding kids have a First Amendment right to play violent video games by striking down a California ban on selling violent video games to minors.

Scalia suggested violent video games were being unfairly singled out, pointing out that plenty of children's literature features gruesome imagery. Hansel and Gretel baked their captor in an oven, Scalia notes, while other children savagely killed The Lord of the Flies' Piggy.

The justice added:

This is not to say that minors’ consumption of violent entertainment has never encountered resistance. In the 1800’s, dime novels depicting crime and “penny dreadfuls” (named for their price and content) were blamed in some quarters for juvenile delinquency ... When motion pictures came along, they became the villains instead.

Scalia also responded to the argument that violent video games pose special problems because they are "interactive" and allow players to determine the outcome of a plot. Here's what Scalia said:

Since at least the publication of The Adventures of You: Sugarcane Island in 1969, young readers of choose-your-own adventure stories have been able to make decisions that determine the plot by following instructions about which page to turn to.

While the public does have a responsibility to protect children, the state doesn't have the "free-floating" power to decide kids can't be exposed to certain ideas, Scalia said.  We'll have to see whether the nation's lawmakers agree with him.

Emma WatsonA new college semester is about to begin and that means that students are preparing to head back to school for the spring semester.

But some students have to juggle a bit more than just classes and schoolwork.

We've found the 16 most famous kids in college this semester. These celebrities are pursuing their college degrees, juggling class and exams with the responsibilities of public life.

They're musicians, actors, models and athletes who somehow find a way to balance their college careers with their professional ones—an impressive feat for such young people.

They go to school all over America, from New York City's School of Visual Arts to California's University of Southern California.

We've listed them here in alphabetical order. Let us know who we missed!

Elizabeth Beisel

College: University of Florida

Year: Junior

Beisel won a silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley event in the 2012 London Olympics. Even though she is a college student, Beisel is a two-time Olympian: she competed in the 2008 Beiijing Olympics at the age of 15. Beisel is also the 2011 world champion in the 400 IM.

She is majoring in communications at the University of Florida.

Miranda Cosgrove

College: University of Southern California

Year: Freshman

This actress and singer-songwriter is best known for her role on Nickelodeon TV's iCarly, but she's also starred in several films, including most notably School of Rock.

Cosgrove said that she took a drawing class last semester, which she really enjoyed.

Justin Combs

College: University of California Los Angeles

Year: Freshman

The son of Sean "P. Diddy" or "Puff Daddy" Combs, Justin Combs graduated with a 3.75 GPA from New Rochelle Iona Prep, a top private school, and is attending UCLA —on a $54,000 football scholarship.

The son of a multi-millionaire, Combs faced a lot of criticism for accepting the scholarship, but the 5-foot-9, 170-pound defensive back defended his decision to accept the scholarship, tweeting that he "put that work in" and earned the scholarship.

Combs made his debut as a UCLA Bruin last semester.

Tina Fey Amy Poehler

The 70th annual Golden Globe Awards are airing tonight and there are plenty of reasons to tune in.

Co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are nominated against each other in the same category and Ben Affleck may prove the Academy wrong by wracking up the "Argo" wins.

Plus, Sofia Vergara will be in attendance rooting for "Modern Family" and who knows when she'll have yet another red carpet wardrobe malfunction.

The Golden Globes air tonight at 8ET/5PT on NBC.

10. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting.

The former "Saturday Night Live" cast mates and longtime friends will take the stage both as co-hosts and competitors in the category of Best Actress, Television Comedy Or Musical. Fey is nominated for "30 Rock" and Poehler for "Parks and Recreation" — both NBC shows, the same network on which the Golden Globes will air Sunday night. Fey has previously won two Golden Globes, while Poehler was a nominee last year. Both actress' lost in 2011 to "Enlightened" star, Laura Dern.

9. The funny ladies will be out in full force.

In addition to Fey and Poehler as hosts, Lena Dunham and Zooey Deschanel, two of the other funniest women on TV, are both up for best performance by an actress in a comedy.

And Jennifer Lawrence is nominated in the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy category for her role in "Silver Lining Playbook." But can she beat out veterans Meryl Streep, Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench and the popular Emily Blunt?

8. Disney vs. Pixar.

Three of the five nominated films for Best Animated Feature are from the Mouse House.

But will the very popular "Wreck-It Ralph" actually beat Pixar's latest film "Brave"?

Tina Fey Amy Poehler

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kicked off tonight's 70th annual Golden Globe awards with a hilarious monologue riffing on everyone from Ben Affleck and  Sarah Palin to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Poehler said she hasn't paid attention to the "Zero Dark Thirty" torture controversy, "But when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron," referencing director Kathryn Bigelow. Zing!

And discussing their Golden Globes looks, Fey joked, "The Hunger Games" isn't just a movie. It's what I call the six weeks it took me to get into this dress." Poehler perfectly followed up with, "Ang Lee's been nominated for 'Life of Pi' which is what I'm going to call the six weeks after I take this dress off!"

Bill Clinton Presents 'Lincoln' During Surprise Golden Globes Appearance

Bill Clinton

Former President Bill Clinton took the stage during Sunday night's Golden Globe awards to presentStevenSpielberg's "Lincoln," one of the nominees for best motion picture drama.

The former POTUS' surprise appearance received a standing ovation from the glamorous crowd.

"A tough fight to push a bill through a bitterly divided House of Representatives. Winning it required the president to make a lot of unsavory deal that had nothing to do with the big issue. I wouldn't know anything about that," Clinton sarcastically said to an enthusiastic crowd.

"President Lincoln’s struggle to abolish slavery reminds us that enduring progress is forged in a cauldron of both principal and compromise," Clinton continued. "This brilliant film shows us how he did it and gives us hope that we can do it again."

After the clip of "Lincoln" played, co-host Amy Poehler, who played Hillary Clinton on "Saturday Night Live," came on stage and quipped, "Wow, what an exciting special guest: that was Hillary Clinton's husband!"

And while everyone seemed to be surprised by the 42nd president's presence, a source tells E! Online, "It was not a last-minute thing. It was in the works and came together about five days ago."

“We had this on lockdown," added DreamWorks co-chair/CEO Stacey Snider to Deadline.

The idea for Clinton's secret appearance reportedly came from Steven Spielberg's camp, with the E! source adding, "Steven and Bill are quite close."

The 20 Most Viral Super Bowl Ads Of All Time

$
0
0

Terry Tate office linebacker

Some Super Bowl ads -- like Apple's legendary "1984" spot  -- air only once. But today, brands want their big game ads to live forever (or at least a year or more) on YouTube and in other social media.

This ranking measures the Super Bowl ads that have stood the test of time on Facebook and other social media.

Some ads, like Reebok's "Office Linebacker" from 2006, have remained relevant through the years. Budweiser's "Wassup" spot, also from 2006, even created a nationwide catch phrase.

Volkswagen appears on our list multiple times, showing the impressive creativity that Deutsch LA, which does their ad work, is able to stir up year after year.

Doritos also makes the list multiple times, which is interesting considering its ad strategy for the past few years: It lets fans submit ideas, and the winning idea is produced into the company's biggest ad of the year.

The videos are ranked according to how many times they were shared across social media (according to our friends at Unruly Media). The total views for each ad are also listed. Note that this ranking values "shares" over views, because it measures virality, not overall popularity. The ranking is as of the time of writing; it shifts constantly as the content is shared anew.

Oxygen Is Having A Complete Social Media Failure Over New Show 'All My Babies' Mamas' [THE BRIEF]

all my babies' mamas oxygen

Good morning, AdLand. Here's what you need to know today:

Everyone hates the idea of Oxygen's "All My Babies Mamas," which centers around a rapper's relationship with the 10 women who mothered his 12 children. And Ad Age is calling the network out for failing to respond to a 36,000 signature and counting Change.org petition, over 100 angry Facebook posts on its page, and thousands of angry Tweets. Ignoring a social media outcry doesn't make problems go away. Pretty bad marketing move, Oxygen.

Deutsch LA is having to fight to maintain its role as PlayStation's lead agency. It's currently pitching against Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Anomaly, and 180 LA.

AKQA made Delta Airlines its first-ever iPad app. It's called "Fly Delta."

Real Media Group, a unit of 24/7 Media, hired Danielle Andrews to be an account executive on its technology sales team. She was previously at OpenX.

Check out former CCO/joint managing partner of Shalmor Avnon Amichay / Y&R Interactive Tel Aviv Gideon Amichay's Ted Talk on the power of No in the creative process.

It turns out that there are a bunch of fake "for your consideration" award show ads out there.

A Transcript Of Jodie Foster's Bizarre Golden Globes Speech

Jodie Foster Golden Globes lifetime achievement award 2013

After Jodie Foster accepted the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes Sunday night, reactions to her speech varied from confusion to being moved to tears.

While often jumbled (Is she quitting acting? Wasn't she already out? Why does she hate Honey Boo Boo so much?), Foster's words on the right to privacy and the beauty of being abnormal were heartfelt and meaningful.

To see the facial reactions of Kate Hudson, Mel Gibson, Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller and Foster's sons during the speech, click here.

After being given the award by Robert Downey Jr., read Foster's speech in its entirety below (via Vulture):

Thank you. Well for all of you SNL fans, I'm 50! I'm 50! You know, I need to do that without this dress on, but you know, maybe later. I'm 50! You know, I was going to bring my walker tonight, but it just didn't go with cleavage. Robert, I want to thank you for everything. For your bat-crazed, rapid-fire brain, the sweet intro. I love you and Susan, and I am so grateful that you continually talk me off the ledge when I say I'm done with acting, I'm done with acting, I'm really done, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done. Trust me, 47 years in the film business is a long time. You just ask those Golden Globies, because you've been around here forever. You know, Phil, you're a nut, Aida, Scott, thank you for honoring me tonight. It is the most fun party of the year, and tonight, I feel like the prom queen.

Looking at all those clips, you know the hairdos and the freaky platform shows, it's like a home movie nightmare that just won't end, and all of these people sitting here at these tables, they're my family of sorts, you know. Fathers, mostly — executives, producers, directors, my fellow actors out there. We've giggled through love scenes, we've punched and cried and spit and vomited and blown snot all over one another — and those are just the co-stars I liked. But you know more than anyone else, I share my most special memories with members of the crew. Blood-shaking friendships, brothers and sisters. We made movies together, and you can't get more intimate than that.

So when I'm here being all confessional, I guess I just have a sudden urge to say something that I've never really been able to air in public. So, a declaration … that I'm a little nervous about, but maybe not quite as nervous as my publicist right now, huh Jennifer? But you know, I'm just gonna put it out there, right? Loud and proud, right? So I'm gonna need your support on this. I am… single. Yes I am, I am single. No, I'm kidding. But I mean, I'm not really kidding, but I'm kind of kidding. Thank you for the enthusiasm. Can I get a wolf whistle or something? I hope you guys weren't hoping this would be a big coming out speech tonight, because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago, back in the stone age. In those very quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends and family, co-workers, and then gradually, proudly to everyone who knew her, to everyone she actually met.But now apparently, I'm told that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance, and a prime time reality show. You guys might be surprised, but I am not Honey Boo Boo Child. No, I'm sorry, that's just not me, it never was, and it never will be. But please don't cry, because my reality show would be so boring. I would have to make out with Marion Cotillard, I would have to spank Daniel Craig's bottom, you know, just to stay on the air. It's not bad work if you can get it though.

But seriously. If you had been a public figure from the time you were a toddler, if you'd had to fight for a life that felt real and honest and normal against all odds, then maybe you too might value privacy above all else. Privacy. Someday, in the future, people will look back and remember how beautiful it once was. I have given everything, up there, from the time that I was three years old. That's reality show enough, don't you think? There are a few secrets to keeping your psyche intact over such a long career. The first: Love people, and stay beside them. That table over there, 222, way out out in Idaho, Paris, Stockholm, that one next to the bathroom with all the unfamous faces — the very same faces for all these years. My acting agent, Joe Funicello — Joe, do you believe it, what, 38 years we've been working together? Even though he doesn't count the first eight. Matt Saber, Pat Kingsley, Jennifer Allen, Grant Iman and his uncle Jerry, may he rest in peace — lifers. My family and friends, here tonight and at home. And of course, Mel Gibson — you know you saved me too.

There is no way I could ever stand here without acknowledging one of the deepest loves of my life, my heroic co-parent, my ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life. My confessor, ski buddy, consigliere, most-beloved BFF of 20 years, Cydney Bernard. Thank you Cyd. I am so proud of our modern family, our amazing sons Charlie and Kit, who are my reason to breathe, and to evolve, my blood and soul. And boys, in case you didn't know it, this song, like all of this, this song is for you. This brings me to the greatest influence of my life, my amazing mother Evelyn. Mom, I know you're inside those blue eyes somewhere and that there are so many things that you won't understand tonight, but this is the only important one to take in: I love you, I love you, I love you. And I hope that if I say this three times, it will magically and perfectly enter into your soul, fill you with grace, and the joy of knowing that you did good in this life. You're a great mom. Please take that with you when you're finally OK to go.

You see Charlie and Kit, sometimes your mom loses it too. But I can't help but get moony, you know. This feels like the end of one era and the beginning of something else. Scary and exciting, and now what? Well, I'm never going to be up on this stage again. On any stage, for that matter. Change, you've gotta love it. I will continue to tell stories, to move people by being moved: the greatest job in the world. It's just that from now on, I may be holding a different talking stick. And maybe it won't be as sparkly. Maybe it won't open on three thousand screens. Maybe it will be so quiet and delicate that only dogs can hear it whistle. But it will be my writing on the wall: Jodie Foster was here, I still am, and I want to be seen, to be understood, deeply, and to be not so very lonely. Thank you, all of you, for the company. Here's to the next fifty years.

Now watch Foster say the speech in her own words:

Will Ferrell Kristen Wiig Golden Globes Intro

The 70th annual Golden Globes were the most well-received telecast in recent history.

With help from funny co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the show— for the most part— went smoothly.

Highlights included Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrel as presenters, a drunk Glenn Close, Bill Clinton's surprise appearance and Ben Affleck cleaning up despite his Oscar's snub.

See who else made our list of most buzzworthy moments from Sunday's big show.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were hilarious hosts.

Some zingers from their opening monologue:

Poehler said she hasn't paid attention to the "Zero Dark Thirty" torture controversy, "But when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron," referencing director Kathryn Bigelow.

They then roasted everyone from Ben Affleck to Sarah Palin. Watch the opening monologue below:

Thanks to pal Steven Spielberg, Bill Clinton made a surprise appearance to introduce "Lincoln."

The former president took the stage to a standing ovation to present Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln," one of the nominees for best motion picture drama.

While everyone seemed to be surprised by the 42nd president's presence, a source tells E! Online, "It was not a last-minute thing. It was in the works and came together about five days ago."

The idea for Clinton's secret appearance reportedly came from Steven Spielberg's camp, with the source adding, "Steven and Bill are quite close."

Clinton introduced the film by saying: "President Lincoln’s struggle to abolish slavery reminds us that enduring progress is forged in a cauldron of both principal and compromise. This brilliant film shows us how he did it and gives us hope that we can do it again."

Watch his full appearance below:

Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig gave a hilarious introduction for Best Actress in a Comedy.

Many now even think they should be next year's hosts. It's a must-watch:
