AT&T is throwing a free HBO subscription into its ‘unlimited’ data plan (ATT)

Randall Stephenson AT&T

AT&T on Wednesday announced that subscribers of its “Unlimited Plus” mobile data plan will soon receive a subscription to HBO at no extra charge.

The promotion will go into effect on April 6, and will apply to both new and existing subscribers.

AT&T says that “Unlimited Plus” subscribers who pay for HBO already through one of the company’s video services, like DirecTV or the DirecTV Now live streaming service, will now get HBO for free. Those who don’t use one of AT&T’s video services can redeem the channels through DirecTV Now or the HBO Go app. And those who subscribed to an AT&T video service, but not HBO, will now get access to the channel automatically.

Previously, you could add HBO to the DirecTV Now service for an additional $5 a month, though AT&T recently gave those who subscribed to DirecTV Now’s higher-end bundles a free year of the channel. DirecTV Now starts at $35 a month on its own, though the “Unlimited Plus” plan includes a $25 monthly credit that can be used toward the service (or standard DirecTV, or AT&T’s U-Verse TV service).

Game of ThronesThe move comes at a time where AT&T is on the verge of purchasing HBO’s parent company, Time Warner, for roughly $85 billion. It’s also likely to raise concerns related to net neutrality, or the principle that internet providers like AT&T should not give preferential treatment to certain services, particularly ones it owns.

AT&T already exempts its video services from counting against data caps with its non-unlimited plans, and CEO Randall Stephenson has hinted the company will do the same once with Time Warner properties if it completes the deal. That specific practice doesn’t apply to AT&T’s unlimited plan directly, but the idea here is still to make it so AT&T can control more of the stack that covers how you connect to the internet, and what you watch over it.

Along those lines, David Christopher, the marketing boss of AT&T’s entertainment group, said this is just the beginning of the carrier incorporating entertainment services in its bundles.

“We are just getting started,” Christopher said in a recent interview with Business Insider. It's part of a “better together philosophy" with wireless service and entertainment, he said.

attNevertheless, the promotion looks to be good value today, and marks the latest attack in the ongoing “unlimited” plan war between the big four mobile carriers in the US. While none of these plans are truly unlimited — you’ll still be at risk of slower speeds if you use a certain amount of data per month, and you only get a certain allotment of mobile hotspot data at LTE speeds — they do represent a shift away from the tighter data restrictions of recent years.

AT&T rebooted its offering in February, renaming it “Unlimited Plus,” and making it available to all subscribers (previously it was only available for those who subscribed to one of its TV services), and dropping the entry price from $100 a month to $90 a month. It's still the most expensive of the bunch to start, but throwing in HBO may give it a boost as it attempts to catch up to Verizon in total mobile subscribers and fend off the continued growth of third-place T-Mobile.

How religious movies are thriving more than ever before under Trump

$

Is Genesis History Compass Cinema

At one time, the strategy for getting the attention of faith-based movie audiences was pretty straightforward: Build a grassroots marketing campaign focused on certain congregations and churches, bus them to movie theaters, and let word of mouth build.

It was a model that led to numerous religious-themed movies having impressive opening weekends at the box office, most notably Mel Gibson's epic depiction of the final hours of Jesus Christ, "The Passion of the Christ," which is still the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.

With the rise of streaming, there have been obvious tweaks to faith-based marketing, but those who work in this part of the film industry have also seen a change since President Donald Trump started running for and then won the White House.

'There's riches in the niches'

"What's shaking out since Trump is that people don't trust institutions. They don't trust the top-down — they want stories that are real and honest," marketer and producer Erik Lokkesmoe told Business Insider. "It's a feeling of, 'Don't tell me it's simple and easy.' The audience we're serving now knows issues are complex."

trump supportersLokkesmoe says the days of just going directly to community leaders, librarians, teachers, and pastors to get the word out about a movie are over. He observes that within the Christian audience, there are now subgroups with varying beliefs and tastes. As he puts it, in today's faith-based market, "There's riches in the niches."

How to find the 'Trump audience'

One obvious niche that everyone is trying to cater to at the moment, of course, is Trump's base. Though Lokkesmoe says it's still too early to get an exact read on the president's most ardent supporters, he has seen what kind of power they can give to a project.

The documentary "Is Genesis History?" explores how the world intersects with the history recorded in the Book of Genesis. It was released as a Fathom Events one-night special in late February and earned $1.8 million on just 704 screens. It was the top-earning theatrical release that day (a Thursday), beating out "The Lego Batman Movie" and "Fifty Shades Darker" (both of which played on more than double the number of screens as "Is Genesis History?" did).

"That is clearly a Trump audience," Lokkesmoe said. "The feeling of, 'We're under siege, our beliefs are being attacked, let's get together one night and confirm our beliefs.' That's very much a Trump mentality."

But it's not just the theatrical realm seeing a Trump bump. Those who keep any eye on the burgeoning streaming market for faith-based titles have noticed more passion online.

Michael Scott is the CEO and cofounder of Pure Flix, which is considered the Netflix of the faith-based market (also the top indie faith-based studio in the world and the worldwide leader in producing and distributing faith and family-friendly entertainment). He has observed liveliness from his customers since Trump got into office.

"I feel some of the audience feels beat down a little bit by some of the media and now it's their chance to be more open and comment about the movies and talk about the movies," Scott told Business Insider. "That's the environment now. There's more openness to talk about faith-based films."

The Case For Christ Pure FlixPure Flix has more than 5,000 titles available to stream (ranging from features and TV to preaching and teaching content), and the company also produces its own titles (its latest, "The Case for Christ," stars Erika Christensen, Faye Dunaway, and Robert Forster, and it opens in theaters Friday). Though Scott says business has continued to thrive on the streaming side since his company started in 2015, that's not necessarily because of current events. As he sees it, you still have to tell a specific kind of story for the faith-based audience.

"One of the key reasons why people come to faith-based films is because of the message," he said. "You have to drive the message first and then wrap an organic story around the message. If you are leading with just a great story, then they could see a Hollywood release."

That formula worked well for releases like 2015's "War Room," which focused on a troubled family finding strength through prayer and went on to earn over $11 million to win its opening weekend. And this year's "The Shack," starring Octavia Spencer as God, took in over $16 million to come in a respectable third place its opening weekend (and it's earned close to $54 million worldwide).

Scott said that's why you shouldn't expect coming faith-based movies to revolve around political issues of the day like the Trump travel ban or other stories coming out of his administration.

"Maybe those would be dealt with in a subplot in a movie," said Scott, who noted that Pure Flix's 2014 film "God's Not Dead" did feature a Muslim family.

Gods Not Dead Pure Flix

Making the faith-based movie bigger

It's hard to see the "message-first" formula changing. But in the Trump era, a new group is being forged out of the faith-based market: what's known as the "aspirational" audience.

These are people who want to engage in the content beyond the theatrical or TV experience. That could include buying the book that a movie or show is based on or starting community outreach.

"The aspirational audience is not the Trump voter," Lokkesmoe said. "They are more artistic, younger, and less political."

silence paramount finalBut Lokkesmoe said the aspirational audience had grown up in an era when it was inspired to make change. His company, Aspiration Studios, has recently built campaigns focused on this audience for Martin Scorsese's "Silence" and the coming TV show "Genius."

Scott noted that Pure Flix was looking to launch a separate division to focus on the aspirational market with movies budgeted at $10 million to $30 million that have A-list talent attached (its current films are made for $4 million to $7 million).

Lokkesmoe said that was the biggest takeaway so far from the Trump era: There's more interest in feeding content to a particular audience than ever before.

"We're seeing a lot more funders and people thinking beyond how to find an audience that is out there for whatever topic or issue," he said. "There's more interest in that than 'Let's make one movie that's going to change the world.'"

drill instructor rack

At Marine Corps boot camp, recruits learn how to march, shoot, and get physically fit, but before all of that, they learn how to make their bed.

So the same went for a reporter from Staten Island Advance, who recently went down to Parris Island, S.C. for a firsthand period of instruction on the proper way of making a Marine Corps "rack."

It didn't go well.

In a more than three-minute video, Staff Sgt. Ryan Granados, a senior drill instructor, tries to show reporter Amanda Steen how to make her rack, which should at the end be so tight a coin can bounce off of it, while the corners should feature nice 45-degree folds.

Emphasis on should.

Throughout the video, Granados has to remind her to respond to his commands — aye sir — while clearly getting frustrated that she isn't able to get it. It's worth noting that if Steen were a real recruit, Granados wouldn't be so patient.

"That's probably the worst rack I've ever seen, you understand?" he says at the end.

Alec Baldwin explains his decades-long feud with Harrison Ford

$

alec baldwin harrison ford

These days, Alec Baldwin is best known for his impression of President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live" and as Jack Donaghy from "30 Rock," but he’s been in the game for a long time. In the '80s and '90s, he was a hot commodity in Hollywood and a heartthrob.

He's also always been a controversial celebrity, having had some unfortunate moments over the years. He had a nasty and highly publicized divorce from actress Kim Basinger in 2001, which resulted in a custody battle over their daughter, Ireland.

In 2007, a vulgar voicemail Baldwin left his daughter leaked and damaged his reputation even further.

In Baldwin's new memoir "Nevertheless," which came out on Tuesday, the actor opens up about another conflict he faced in the Hollywood spotlight: his decades-old feud with Harrison Ford.

Baldwin played Jack Ryan in 1990's "The Hunt for Red October." But Harrison Ford was cast as Jack Ryan in the 1992 sequel, "Patriot Games," and it was all done behind Baldwin's back, the star claims.

According to Baldwin, director John McTiernan asked Harrison Ford if he was aware that Paramount was still negotiating with Baldwin to return as Jack Ryan in the sequel.

“Ford’s reply, according to John, was 'F--k him,'” Baldwin wrote.

Baldwin also writes, not too kindly, of later meeting Ford at a benefit: "Ford, in person, is a little man, short, scrawny, and wiry, whose soft voice sounds as if it’s coming from behind a door."

But Baldwin does spread some love around in the new book, too. He opens up about his relationship with Tina Fey, his costar on "30 Rock," which ran for seven seasons from 2006 to 2013.

"When I first met Tina Fey — beautiful and brunette, smart and funny, by turns smug and diffident and completely uninterested in me or anything I had to say — I had the same reaction that I’m sure many men and women have: I fell in love," he wrote.

Barry Manilow has decided to break his silence publicly about his sexuality and marriage to his longtime manager, Garry Kief.

The 73-year-old pop icon told People magazine that he and Kief were together for for nearly 40 years before they married in 2014.

So why did Manilow keep their relationship secret (aside from close friends and fans) for four decades?

“I thought I would be disappointing them if they knew I was gay. So I never did anything,” Manilow said of his fans.

While this is the first time Manilow has publicly acknowledged his sexuality and 2014 marriage to Kief, People previously reported about the Palm Springs wedding in 2015.

“When they found out that Garry and I were together, they were so happy," Manilow said of fans after the wedding news broke. "The reaction was so beautiful — strangers commenting, ‘Great for you!’ I’m just so grateful for it."

Manilow met Kief in 1978, after his big hits "Mandy" and his remake of "Copacabana (At the Copa)," and hired Kief to manage his career. Kief still manages Manilow and also serves as the president of Barry Manilow Productions.

“He’s the smartest person I’ve ever met in my life — and a great guy, too,” Manilow told People.

In case you've lost count, we're headed into the fifth movie in Paramount's Transformers franchise with "Transformers: The Last Knight," opening in theaters in June.

Michael Bay has directed all the movies so far and it's possible this will be his last one — at least for a little while.

But he revealed to MTV at CinemaCon that 14(!) future Transformers movies have already been written.

"There’s good stuff," he said, adding that in the future he may want to get back in on the franchise. "I would like to do one of them, though."

After "The Last Knight," which stars Mark Wahlberg — who came onto the franchise in 2014's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" — the movies will get their first spin-off, which will focus on Bumblebee and will be more kid-friendly, according to Bay. The movie will be out in 2018 and will be directed by Travis Knight ("Kubo and the Two Strings").

So it sounds like the franchise is not slowing down. The movies, including the 1986 animated feature, "Transformers: The Movie," have collectively earned a worldwide gross close to $4 billion.

All the 'Game of Thrones' deaths, ranked from least tragic to most tragic

The Red Wedding

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. It's violent, vicious, and not for the faint of heart.

Over the past six seasons, a lot of people on "Game of Thrones" have died. It's a game of survival, and you're lucky if you've made it this far.

Some of these characters came back from the dead. We barely knew some of them, and we knew a lot of them so well that we shed a tear or two (or two-hundred) when we watched them die on our TV screens. And some? We couldn't wait for them to die, and when they did, we were cheering.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with some exceptions), we ranked 90 notable deaths (and semi-deaths) from the series — basically, the deaths of characters who had names, had more than a few lines, and/or had some kind of impact on a major plot point or a major character. Hopefully it gives fans closure while they wait longer for the next season to arrive.

Here are 90 "Game of Thrones" deaths ranked from the least sad to the most sad:

Note: The Hound is exempt from this list. He was presumed dead and that was very sad for all of us, but turns out he never actually died. Direwolves are also exempt.

SEE ALSO: Every HBO show ranked from worst to best, according to critics

90. Ramsay Bolton

Ramsay Bolton was Roose Bolton's bastard son who had a penchant for extreme violence against innocent human beings. He was briefly married to Sansa Stark, and tortured Theon Greyjoy for several seasons. He also killed his dad, his stepmom, and his baby brother. And Rickon Stark. And Osha. And a lot of other people.

Time of death:  Season 6, episode 9, "Battle of the Bastards"

Cause of death: Sansa leaves him to be eaten by his own hounds.

Sadness ranking: -25. Ramsay's death is probably the most satisfying one on this whole show. His violence was gratuitous and he had zero redeeming qualities. Nobody loved him, not even his dad.

89. Joffrey Baratheon

Starting with the execution of Ned Stark, Joffrey proved that he was completely out of control and wouldn't listen to anybody. He was a terrible king, and also a terrible person.

Time of death: Season 4, episode 2, "The Lion and the Rose"

Cause of death: Poisoned by Petyr Baelish and Olenna Tyrell at his wedding to Margery Tyrell.

Sadness ranking: -10. The only sad thing about Joffrey's death is that we don't get to hate him anymore. Joffrey was responsible for the untimely deaths of a lot of people who didn't deserve it.

88. Walder Frey

Walder Frey was the Lord of the Crossing at the Twins, and for a brief period, the Lord of Riverrun. He had over 100 descendants, and so many daughters that he didn't even know some of their names. He never had a good reputation in Westeros, and was often called the "Late Walder Frey" after delaying his assistance in Robert's Rebellion until it was already won.

Time of death: Season 6, episode 10, "The Winds of Winter"

Cause of death: Arya Stark slits his throat after feeding him a pie made out of his own sons.

Sadness ranking: -8. He's responsible for the Red Wedding, plus he's really gross. Not sad, not even a little bit.

Streaming services aren’t the future of music — they’re the new normal

$

A couple of noteworthy things have happened in the music streaming world this week. First, streaming giant Spotify came to a new licensing agreement with record label giant Universal. Spotify will notably limit some albums to its paid tier for two weeks at a time, but singles will still have no restrictions, and Universal will reportedly charge less in royalty fees as part of the arrangement.

Second, Kanye West’s "The Life of Pablo" became the first album to go platinum in the US through streams. It’s been streamed more than 3 billion times since its release in February 2016.

Spotify and Kanye are two titans in their fields, but the news points to a trend: Streaming is the new normal for how Americans listen to music. If the codependent nature of Spotify and Universal’s agreement isn’t enough, this chart from Statista should make it clearer: According to the RIAA, streaming brought in more than half of the US music industry’s revenue in 2016.

This comes after Nielsen said earlier this year that on-demand streaming had generated more revenue than digital album and track sales for the first time in 2016. Whether Spotify or music labels can make sustainable profits off streaming is another question, but it’s clearer than ever that this is the bed that’s been made for them.

'Archer' star Amber Nash talks the show's big changes in season 8: 'We're always a little fearful'

Amber Nash Pam Poovey Archer Dreamland

There are a couple of big changes this season for the long-running animated series "Archer." But one of its stars is sure that the show will be just fine.

First off, the show will make the move to FX's sister channel for comedy, FXX, with its season premiere on Wednesday.

Fans will remember that the shift was to occur a few years back, but didn't actually happen.

"We’re always a little fearful that the audience isn’t going to follow," Amber Nash, who plays Pam Poovey on "Archer," told Business Insider when we sat with her in New York City this week.

On Wednesday, FXX announced it had canceled its dating comedy, "Man Seeking Woman," after three seasons on the channel. So, it's not like FXX shows are immune from the harsh realities of TV competition. But Nash sees the move for "Archer" as a vote of confidence from the company.

"I think the cool thing is that the reason that they’re sending us there is because we’re a strong show and they want us to anchor their animation that they are getting into," Nash said. "And the other thing is that since the last time we were going to move there and we ended up not moving there, there’s so many strong comedies on that network."

Currently, FXX's slate includes the comedies "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "You're the Worst" – both FX transplants as well.

archer dreamlandIn addition to moving to FXX, the next installment of "Archer" will be another standalone season titled "Archer: Dreamland."

The season takes place in Archer's mind (after being almost killed on season seven) and in 1947. He will be a private investigator who's looking into the murder of his partner, Woodhouse (who fans will recognize as an homage to Archer's deceased former butler). All the other characters will play new roles in the past period, as well.

"This is such a great time period, 1947. It looks so gorgeous," Nash said. "The crazy thing that people wouldn’t know, unless they work in animation, was they had to go back and re-do all the backgrounds. They had to do all new costuming for the characters. Everything is so different and new. Over the years, the technology has changed so much. It’s an incredibly beautiful show. That’s super-exciting too."

Previously, "Archer" also strayed from its central story on its fifth season, titled "Archer: Vice." So Nash knows that some fans won't be happy with "Archer: Dreamland," but the actress feels that the show needs to try new things.

"When we did season five, ‘Archer: Vice,’ we were super-excited, because it was different. Some people loved it and some people hated it," she told us. "I think if you’re a comedy [show] and you’re going to stay relevant and fresh, you’ve got to take risks. And when you take risks, not everyone is happy. So I think it’s going to happen again this season. People are going to be super onboard and people will want things to be the same."

We just learned the first real details about Microsoft’s next Xbox — here’s what to expect from ‘Project Scorpio’ (MSFT)

$

xbox one s

We’ve finally learned the first real details of Microsoft’s “Project Scorpio,” the name for the company’s high-performance Xbox One console designed to allow for more gorgeous, fluid game experiences.

This is not a brand-new Xbox, mind you, but an overpowered version of the Xbox One that can support more visual improvements, like native 4K and 60 frames-per-second performance, which make games look more realistic.

All the details were unveiled in a Eurogamer story on Thursday morning, in which the company sent its video unit Digital Foundry to Redmond, Washington, to see Project Scorpio in action for the first time.

Eurogamer suggests Microsoft will debut Project Scorpio to the public at E3 2017, the annual games conference in Los Angeles that takes place in June, but the company did release the final specifications for the console, which reveals a much more powerful machine than the Xbox One — and even a bit superior to Sony’s new PlayStation 4 Pro, a similar high-end PS4 console designed to make games better-looking.

A chart with the full specs for Project Scorpio can be found over at Eurogamer, but here's a rundown of what to expect:

- The CPU contains eight custom x86 cores clocked at 2.3GHz, which are 31% faster than those in the Xbox One
- The GPU is made with 40 custom compute units running at 1172MHz
- The memory is 12 gigabytes of GDDR5 RAM running at a bandwidth of 326GB/s
- The built-in hard-drive is 2.5 inches and contains 1 terabyte of space
- The optical hard drive will support everything up to 4K ultra-HD Blu-ray discs

In contrast, the current Xbox One only has 12 compute units in the GPU, 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM running at a lower bandwidth of 68GB/s, and comes with just 500 GB of space standard.

In other words, the new Project Scorpio will be technically superior to the Xbox One in every single way.

Some other nifty features worth noting:

- A better color compression system
- A new audio processor for spatial surround sound, including support for Dolby Atmos
- A next-gen codec that allows you to capture your content in full HDR, which in many ways is more vibrant and impressive than 4K
- The GPU delivers on the 6.0-teraflop performance target promised earlier last year by Microsoft
- Project Scorpio will be 100% backwards compatible with all Xbox One and Xbox One S consoles
- Of the 12 gigabytes of memory, only 4GB is reserved for the system itself. Developers will have 8GB of memory to play around with for their games, to ensure quality performance, quick loading times, and better visuals

And here's what we still don't know about Project Scorpio, but hope to learn soon (possibly E3?):

- How much it will cost
- When it will go on sale
- If it will support any VR headsets or solutions, and which
- If it will support Microsoft's augmented reality headset, the HoloLens
- Which games will take advantage of the performance bonuses from Project Scorpio

For more on Project Scorpio, including interviews with the team behind the new Xbox and a look at how well demos run on the console, check out Eurogamer’s big feature story.

Though it sought to unite, a new Pepsi ad featuring Kendall Jenner divided many. It sparked a flood of negative reactions on social media, leading to Pepsi pulling the ad and apologizing on Wednesday.

The ad ends with her handing a Pepsi to an equally attractive police officer watching the protesters.

Seth Meyers examines the relationship between Trump and Fox News, his 'propaganda arm'

Seth Meyers dedicated Wednesday's "A Closer Look" on his "Late Night" to the cozy relationship between President Donald Trump and Fox News Channel.

"Fox is basically the closest thing we have to state TV," the host said. "In fact, the relationship between Trump and Fox News has turned into something of a mutual appreciation society, where they heap praise on one another."

Meyers pointed to Trump's many tweets citing Fox News reports and urging his followers to watch its programs, including a recent episode of "Justice with Judge Jeanine," in which the host blamed House Speaker Paul Ryan for the failure of the GOP healthcare bill and called for him to step down. Meyers also mentioned when Trump complimented "Fox & Friends" during a press conference, a clip the program later replayed to host Steve Doocy's shock.

"The president literally just recommends TV shows now," Meyers said. "Instead of a Bible, Trump should have been sworn in on a TV Guide."

Meyers allowed that there are a few Fox News hosts who have covered Trump "skeptically," mentioning Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace. But more often, according to Meyers, Fox News rewards Trump's support with favorable coverage and he then gives them preferential treatment.

"They give him glowing, unquestionable coverage, and in return, he gives them unparalleled access," Meyers said. "They’ll go to absurd lengths to defend him. Like on Friday, Fox News host Eric Bolling tried to compare President Obama's first quarter in office, which was dominated by the financial crisis, to President Trump's first quarter — a comparison so dumb even his fellow panelists started laughing at him."

But Meyers argues the close ties became even more problematic when Trump defended Bill O'Reilly against allegations of sexual harassment earlier this week, amid an exodus of more than 20 advertisers from Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor."

"Soon the only advertisers left on his show are going to be Ivanka Trump's clothing line and Steve Bannon's skin worsener," Meyers joked.

"So this is the network that the president relies on for information," Meyers added, "a network with an archaic culture of sexual harassment, fear, and intimidation that also serves, with a few exceptions, as a propaganda arm."

'The Daily Show' made a mashup of a Sean Spicer press conference and kindergarteners

Sean Spicer

If you've ever watched White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer conduct one of his daily press conferences, you know things can get a little rowdy.

"The Daily Show" had the takeaway that Spicer treats the press like misbehaving kids. And so the show on Wednesday night decided to use a class of kindergartners to show that what Spicer says fits right in with the kids' classroom setting.

The bit, which is on the show's Facebook page, has Spicer taking questions and being interrupted constantly, which leads to him reprimanding the reporters — or in this case, children. And then there's one girl's dogged question about when the class will learn about Russia.

Samantha Bee: Why Ivanka Trump is not 'your secret progressive buddy'

samantha bee ivanka trump white house donald full frontal TBS

Samantha Bee hoped to dispel the belief that Ivanka Trump is a moderating force in her father President Donald Trump's administration by highlighting Ivanka in "Full Frontal's" tongue-in-cheek segment "The Great Feminists in Feminism Herstory Hall of Fame."

Ivanka joins other "feminist" luminaries honored in the segment, such as former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

"Tonight, we honor the only actual high-end project Trump ever completed," Bee said of Ivanka on Wednesday's episode.

Ivanka has certainly generated headlines for her role in her father's administration and for recently sitting for an interview with CBS News, in which she claimed that she spoke up to her father when they disagreed on issues. She was given an office and later an official job at the White House. The job was described as serving as her father's "eyes and ears."

"Yikes! If Ivanka is supposed to serve as her dad's eyes, she'll be spending a lot of time staring at her own boobies," Bee joked.

"Ivanka's official title is assistant to the president," Bee added. "Wishful thinkers are hoping that's code for 'your secret progressive buddy.'"

But Bee pointed out that Ivanka, a former Democrat, seemingly hasn't been able to change her father's mind on environmental issues. After she famously set up a meeting between her father and former Vice President Al Gore to discuss climate change, the president appointed climate change denier Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency.

"She's not going to convince her dad that climate change isn't a Chinese hoax," Bee said. "Anyone with a dad knows they have invincible old-man-opinion strength."

Bee acknowledged that Ivanka was reportedly able to stop her father from signing an executive order that would have taken away President Barack Obama-era workplace protections for the LGBT community. But the host didn't cut her much more slack than that.

"So at most, Ivanka has stopped one out of 24 appalling executive orders," Bee said. "That's only one more thing than Tiffany [Trump] has stopped. But that sorry track record hasn't stopped people from thinking of Ivanka as ['The Hobbit's'] Lady Galadriel of the very white council."

"Look, I get it," Bee added. "People are comforted by the thought of a progressive feminist in the White House. To which I say if you wanted that, you should have voted for it."

Daily Show

In honor of the recently ended March Madness tournament, "The Daily Show" hosted its own tournament called Third Month Mania.

For Thrid Montha Mania, "The Daily Show" team went through all of President Donald Trump's tweets and created a bracket to determine the "greatest Donald Trump tweet of all time." Six million fans voted on Comedy Central's website to determine Trump's very best tweet.

On Wednesday night, "The Daily Show" announced the winning tweet. And this one from 2014 was the lucky winner:

“This may not be the meanest or the most racist,” correspondent Hasan Minhaj said.

“But it will be the one tweet we will get the answer to in the next four years,” correspondent Roy Wood Jr. responded.

Before the big reveal, Minhaj and Wood mentioned the runners-up:

"Highest level," Roy Wood Jr. joked of Trump's "Black-ish" tweet. "And we all know the racism scale, Hasan. It goes the N-word, slavery, 'Black-ish.'"

"And by the way, they don’t need to call shows 'Whiteish.' They have other names. Like 'Frasier,'" Minhaj said.

The Force Awakens Bad Lip reading YouTube final

The popular YouTube channel Bad Lip Reading has created viral hits out of Inauguration Day and NFL players talking on the field, and now it's taken on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," with the help of Luke Skywalker himself, actor Mark Hamill.

Yes, you may be saying to yourself, "But Luke Skywalker didn't have any lines in 'The Force Awakens.'" You're right, and that's what makes this latest Bad Lip Reading video so great.

Known for his voiceover work (he's played the Joker on many of the Batman cartoons), Hamill voices his pal Harrison Ford's Han Solo, and it's pretty spot-on.

Some of the highlights include Han talking to Leia about things that make them the happiest (nothing makes Han happy), Kylo Ren hitting on Rey while he has her captured, Han warning Finn about ninjas, and Kylo Ren offering Han a finger puppet.
